I have gotten the kitchen tolerable so that helps. Grandkids had fun here today. Dgson only got one wrong on his spelling last week one or two wrong a week so it is encouraging.
H. us back from dropping the farm taxes off at the bookkeeper.

Harmony: Acidophilus should be perfect for your dh. I was going to suggest it but it is expensive. Since you have some already, bonus! Glad you heard from some church folks today.

Take care of yourself too. Make sure you are drinking enough water and move as much as you can. Just sitting can't be good for you. And you need to take care of YOU so you can take care of dh.

Dishes are taken care of. I've got the oven on self-clean now. Since the oven at the new place is just a rental quality oven, I'll bet it doesn't have self-clean on it. I'll miss it.

I'm looking up corn bread recipes now. I have to make 24 servings for the chili supper on Friday and haven't made it before so thought I'd do a trial batch just before the real estate agent comes. That should have the house smelling good! (Assuming I don't burn it!!!)

So that means I'll be running out to the store tomorrow to buy cornbread (and dh's cereal while I'm out.)

Must wash the kitchen and laundry room floors tonight.

If you recall, I haven't seen any of the Downton Abbey Season 4. I just thought to look at the PBS site and it expires at the end of next week so I need to get watching now. Unfortunately, since I have to be in the US to watch PBS, I'll have to get dh to reset the 'tunnelling' on the kitchen computer (so it pretends it is in the US.) I tried to do it on my own with the instructions from dh but the first step wasn't as he wrote out so I've been waiting for his conference call to be over.

Crazy day. Feeling tired. Tutoring went well - until our last activity was cut short 2 minutes before class was out by the fire alarm. Not sure if it was a drill or not, but we were asked to leave the building. My group has grown from 3 to 6 women today. I think one teacher was absent today and so I had his/her 2 students as well; I'm not sure if s/he was permanently absent or if this was a one week thing, but one of the students wasn't tracking with the others. I'll ask my supervisor about her. I was out from 8:30 - 10:50. At home, I responded to some email/fb messages with some questions re: teaching resources, etc. I then indulged in the last episode of DA season 4 over lunch; unfortunately, that episode is 1.5 hours long - and I didn't really have 1.5 hours to spare at that point in time. My plan to stop halfway through failed. Afterward, I got the kitchen cleaned, did some more laundry, finished a.m. routine - and went to the groc. store at 2:45, home by 3:30. Put everything away, started prep for dinner (chicken w/ artichokes and mushrooms in a wine sauce). Then, I was out of the house again at 4:20, chauffeuring dd15 who had synchro practice 3-5, an oboe lesson 4:30 - 5:30, band rehearsal 6:30 - 8:30. She could have used Hermione's time turner today. LOL! She had me pick her up from synchro early and take her to her lesson late; I was home again at 5:55. I immediately worked more on throwing dinner together and was out the door 20 minutes later to take dd15 to band rehearsal. Dh finished dinner while I was out.

Dh had church elders meeting at 7:30 tonight. He's still there - and will probably be there until 11 or 12 - that's not uncommon. Funny thing, I was so used to picking up dd15 every hour that I ran out the door at 7:20 to pick her up from band rehearsal. Halfway there, I realized I was off by an hour. .

Before I go to bed, I need to:
- take out garbage and put it at the curb
- have girls do their recycling chores
- update laundry: fold one load and put a t shirt in dryer
- finish cleaning up the kitchen
- work on prep for meeting with mentoree tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be another day chopped up with a lot of running around:
- WW at 9:15
- meet dfriend B at 12:15 - not confirmed, but I think we will do this
- meet Univ. student mentoree at 2
- haircut appt. at 5:45
- pick up dd15 from synchro at 7:45

Here is what I tried to post earlier today:

Good morning! I know, it is not morning, but I have decided to start my day over. I have opened the drapes in the kitchen and LR to get some light in. I realized that a tree I thought dead has come back to life! My MBR has one extreme drawback - there is only one window and it opens to a covered porch. There is no natural light and I think it makes it hard for me to get up. Must remember to tell Dad because he likes my floorplan and thinks that their eventual 'retirement house' should be laid out like mine. (Of course, he is 77, still working, and not even thinking about retirement, so I have no idea when they would ever move). I have about 35 minutes until I pick up DD12 for Girls' Night Out. I need to check my email to see if my video is in at the library (please, please, please). Will spend the time on job search activities.

After DD leaves, there are 3 stash and dash bags that must be dealt with and MBR, LR, and Mbath floors to deal with. Also, I need to find my diploma and file unemployment claim. Thank you, Sadie, for reminding me to work on my Bible study homework for tomorrow.

I am having a problem with my yardwork. I would like to work on it a little every day and have it done by the time my parents get here. However, one 15 minute session of dead tree cleanup completely fills my trash can! At this pace, it will take FOREVER. Got a splinter doing it yesterday, OUCH!

Charity crochet status: finished main body and scallops. Needs only the border - chain loops ad infinitum. Really need that Dr. Who video, border will be BORING!

End of stuff that I tried to post earlier.

DD and her friends conspired to change Girls' Night Out. She wanted two friends to come over for dinner, so I fixed dinner for 4 rather than eating out. Much better for the budget! We have also arranged for the two to sleepover on Saturday. The house was a disaster in places, but at least the kitchen was sort of ok. Need to get much done before Saturday! The X is going to a retirement party Friday, so he wants me to take DD. I will have to get her back to him on Saturday morning so I can do the cat clinic. I am going to fix myself some popcorn and read some. Cat care is done and trash is out. I hope I can post this now.

CI:
[x] reconcile checkbook
[x] s2s, etc.
[x] water plants
[ ] sort clothes for ddil to look at (I think she might like some of the tops I'm discarding)
[x] exercise

-- So I didn't get all 5 done by 5 -- but I did add a few short tasks:
[x] s/s all three toilets
[x] emptied ice maker (ice was all in a huge clump and it didn't seem to be working right)
[x] checked dmil's mail and picked up supper at local fund-raiser for dmil & us
* Stood in line ONE HOUR for fish dinner!   Fortunately, there were a half dozen friends in line with me, close enough to talk to, and that helped pass the time. Sheesh. It's pretty good fish, but no way would I have waited that long for myself. Dfriend ahead of me agreed; she was there for her dmom, and told me her ddad had been put in the hospital today -- hopefully nothing serious, just dehydrated.

Then, after we ate, I took a nap. I figure w/the weird hours we sleep, I deserve an evening nap if I want it. :P

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for assuring me that dmom's anger is just another stage of the grieving process, and means she IS making progress. I knew that, I guess, and so does she... but it's good to hear the word "progress" from others!!! I want to say more on this, going to J&C.
Tomorrow is another day.
