Another check in. I have not yet applied to the jobs, but I have the list of the ones I am applying to today. I had to eat, then had a long cat crisis call, which I hope has been dealt with. (My advice was haul cat to vet before it gets worse, and that is what is being done). Dishwasher is running, LOL is drying, a bit of kitchen cleanup was accomplished while waiting for lunch to cook. I really must cook some more so I will have a freezer stock, I am down to uncooked meat!

Re: Wunnerful, wunnerful Wednesday...
I had not had the computer on until afternoon. I've been lounging, reading short stories, journal writing, and decluttering. I have 1 large box and 1 medium box for ARC to pick up on the 13th.
I got rid of things, which we think are "re-gifted" from others, who don't want the gift, so they pass them onto us.
I got rid of larger-for-me-now clothes. It saddens me to let some very nice things "go", but they come way over my hands and practically off the shoulders now.
It's best to bless someone else with them.
No letters came today, I owe 4 letters, but 1 is a note for a down's syndrome young woman. She writes notes, I write little 1 - 2 page letters on lit pads or memo pads or cute small stationery. I sent her photos of animals off of desk calendars and stickers, too. She's such a lovely young woman and so athletic and dedicated to Special Olympics.
I'm doing a lol, so I'll leave now and go get it in the dryer. This was a quick C.I. and C. U. O. P.

♥ Thanks for the walk backwards into the good times.

Update: I have applied to the 3 most likely jobs and I need a break.
Breaktime activities: bill pay, Quicken update, transfer money, LOL fold and put away. (Doesn't that sound like fun?)
ETA: Breaktime activities done except for transfer money. I had more in the account than I thought I did, so it wasn't necessary (yeah!).

Re: Wunnerful, wunnerful Wednesday...
Back from my day out.
Have to go into the city on Saturday the 22nd and cater a lunch for the Marriage Prep participants. At most 7 people so that's easy and I have a budget of $100 (and don't have to spend it all!) Will price things at Costco and then decide what to do. Probably muffins, cheese and fruit for the morning break and then sandwiches for lunch.
After my meeting, we headed over to the apartment. It is getting "smaller" each time. We've decided to remove the built-in in the dining room. That will free up more room for our furniture.
The kitchen is pretty well unchangeable unless we pay for it - they'll swap out a different sink and tap and they'll change the counter top if we want. They will also look into building an additional counter beside the sink. That will add 3' of counter top. If that happens, the counter will be changed and I'll get a selection of colours to choose from. Since I have tea and blueberries daily, I'm hoping for a dark colour! My counter here is 21 years old, laminate, and in perfect shape so I don't care about granite, but I do want something that won't show stains if I don't instantly wipe them up.
We can't put in our new shower head, it uses 1.7 gal/min and the limit is 1.5. We can only put in our chandelier if we use compact fluorescent or LED bulbs. They are building a bike room but until then, dh's bike can go on the balcony if we want despite the lease saying otherwise.
We *can* have our waterbed if we show we have insurance for it. So that will be a phone call tomorrow.
Bathroom door will be coming off because it can't be switched.
It was sunny today and the views were even better than before.
We also saw the laundry room on our floor (there's one per floor and it has a laundry tub so that solves my washing large items problem), mail room, the garbage room, the tuck shop (there's also a hair dresser which we didn't see.)
We'll go back on Tuesday and fill in the application. They do credit and police checks (everyone in the building has police clearance) and then we go back later to sign the lease.
In the meantime, I'll check about waterbed insurance, changing phone and internet options and look up drapery options. It is tempting to not use drapes at all because of the view but we'll need something covering half of one window in each of the office and master bedroom.

Elizabeth...
Well, that does make sense, doesn't it? (DGS turning off tv b/c he doesn't want to watch it.) Well, maybe, but it was just on for background noise -- at the time he was turning it off, he was having free reign of the house. (Except for bathrooms!) I think he does it b/c he knows touching the tv/remotes/satellite box, etc will guarantee a reaction from all adults in the room, LOL!
I was sitting in the floor earlier with him, and he brought me a book and held it out to me, so I patted my leg and said, "Well, sit down and we'll read it." And he DID!
He didn't let me read ALL of it, but it was a full size Little Golden Book, and a pretty wordy one at that, so I was just shocked he sat for any of it! DH said he let him read to him some last night. MAYBE we are making progress.
He still has very, very little to say... and extremely little that we can actually understand... BUT -- he is babbling more and more. Maybe that's progress, too. He knows all words, LOL. I didn't realize he knew what the piano was -- he only sees a full size one here and at my dmom's -- but when I asked if he wanted to play the piano, he went running straight to it.
We went to the post office, visited dmil, (where he got almost an hour of free reign, running around and rearranging all her books and taking puzzles apart. Still hasn't got the putting them back together part down). We also rode around a little while waiting on my pizza to be ready at P izza H ut. That new hand-tossed crust they've been advertising IS very good, btw.
Back home, he ate, I ate, he's back in "jail" and I'm doing laundry. He seems pretty happy for the time being.
Sounds like things are falling in place nicely at the new apartment, Kathryn!

WTG, Elizabeth, w/the job search!
WTG, Ivy, with decluttering clothes that are too big! (Sadly, when I decluttered recently, the clothes were too small for me.)

Re: Wunnerful, wunnerful Wednesday...
Considerable getting ready for dsisil. Dd, of course, had work to do in her room after volleyball practice, but she's looking forward to "rooming" with her aunt. Nice that she had already done a declutter and organized closet.
I got a washing of covers/blanket done. Dusted in LR and DR. Extra declutter.
Dd's sheets will be my laundry load for morning dailies in the a.m. That I can take off her hands this time around. She has a couch in her room, so dsisil should be quite comfortable with the bed to herself.
In the morning I'll be looking at this 5x5
Clean the vacuum
Vacuum dd's room
Clean bathroom
Wash towels
Sweep and mop kitchen
I wish dsisil could see some of the children other than dd while she's here, but that looks doubtful. Dd34's family isn't here, ds28's family just visited yesterday and I don't know about dstepson, but doubt he can get over here. We don't want to just invite anyone, anyway, because there's still the possibility dsisil can't get away from work. She's been with the area's giant electric provider since college, and they move her where she's needed for specific projects that can't always wait.
Btw, lucylee, my green-eyed boy2 and I had a great time yesterday. He is not into buttons on the tv or peripherals themselves - he wants the remote.
And he knows when you give him an old remote for a toy - he can tell which ones are real. He loves the telephones and also wants the REAL ones of those, that will have light. So I managed to trade him for a flashlight - much better. For some reason, Tobias, who cannot stand dd34's brood of 3 boys, is just fine with ds28's one boy. So flashlight, boy, cat and lots of excitement in the light chase.

The grands & friend have left.
I made them some muffins to have before the left the small size juffy mixes work great for that just a few so we donot over indulge. Last of the left overs for dinner tonight h. is home too. Hens have been fed and watered for tonight. I need to walk and reboot the dish washer.
