Sorry I have been MIA. DH came down with sore throat last Wednesday and a full blown cold on Thursday. He generously shared it with me by Sat. Of course, I had to do him one better and was down for the count thru yesterday. Feeling much better today except for the GI problems that I get with antibiotics. (I had 2 Zpacks from Mexico and we took those to get over the yucks) I know with out the Zpacks, we both would have ended up at the Dr. Really hard deep cough and over all achy-ness.

So I haven't really done much except for the 3 D's since last Wednesday. I did make a plastic canvas hanger for earnings, necklaces, and bracelets. Took 3 squares of 7 count and whipped a piece of 10 count to them leaving it (the piece of 10 count) open on 3 sides.

The 10 count is for post earrings and by only attaching one side I can easily get the backs off the earrings when I want to wear them. The upper piece of 7 count is for hook earrings and the other two pieces of 7 count has paper clip hooks for necklaces and bracelets. It fits well behind the door in my bedroom and makes everything much easier to get to. No searching for matching earrings or untangling necklaces.

Time to flip the laundry twins and get going on last night's dishes. TTFN

~~~Swoosh~~~ who was that dancing woman who just brushed by me?
Well, I danced all over the house yesterday cleaning, and now dsisil can't arrive until Sun anyway. Sigh. Oh well, with the torrential rains :( we are having today I could have hardly even gotten outside to do my first chore of cleaning the vacuum if I'd waited. Dd really appreciated my extra work in her room yesterday. Wish I could remember what she said exactly, but something like it made her feel better, like she could move and breathe and enjoy her room more because it was so well decluttered now.
Subject was brought up because Tobias was racing from kitchen through living areas to her room under bed and then back again, feeling so "kitten-like" this morning. And we were remembering unhappy-looking cats on hoarding programs, wondering how much the space to run means to cats.
Nancy, I mentioned your loss of little favorite hen to HRH and he said to tell you sorry and he knows how fast it can happen.
As if I were not busy enough, I just did research to help dd15 find links to Get Well cards about the ocean/fish for her oceanography teacher, out for recovery from surgery. I told her to say to him this is what he gets for working with non-driving people who have no income. They will be emailing often as he will be instructing and grading, at least partially, from home, while substitute acts as intermediary more than teacher.
Emptynester and Harmony are being SO crafty! :idea: Smart.
I've received an email - now - saying my card will have to be reissued because it was within all those cards with info snagged in the Target thing. Doesn't this seem kinda late??? I wonder if Target really knew which cards were used within that time frame, or if, perhaps the time-frame turned out to be wider than thought.
Harmony, in reading online, opinions were mixed as to whether adding potatoes took care of saltiness. I am going to add some water to thin it down instead, since it is a very thick barley soup. I think I probably used too much of the stock mix.
Meeting this morning went very well. Encouraged for the moment in having a temple volunteer who will take charge and follow through. :D
Need to walk the ddogs now before I head to body work appt - need to be there in an hour.
A quick check-in and cuop while I finish my lunch and cup of tea. I'm all ready to leave in about an hour for dh's PT. Early morning here we had bright sun, but it is overcast once again, quite breezy and temp will not get above 60* today.
So sorry you and dh are not feeling well, MT. There seems to be quite a lot of stuff going around now.
Dee, good luck to dgs in his race this weekend. Have a nice visit with your dfam. And congrats on the trivia win!
Helia, hoping your dh and dfam have a nice weekend skiing and you and GG enjoy your weekend.
Wishing Lilac & dh a good trip.
Harmony, I'm sure that little quilting box will turn up eventually. I keep hoping things will ease up for you and dh!
Hello to Lynlee, Twins', Kathryn, BookSaver, Nancy and Blessedw2 --- and everyone.
My visit yesterday with dcousin was nice. It rained and stormed almost the whole afternoon, but we ran between the raindrops as we visited the mall then a few other shops. Found out later there was actually a tornado warning while we had lunch!
Everyone have a nice afternoon!
MT, glad you and Mr. MT are on the mend this week!
Body work, then a short nap. I will head to temple soon with my (hopefully) not too salty soup. This has been a gorgeous day here.
Quiet day in this village - perhaps we're all enjoying the outdoors?
Hello, hello!!!
Another hmmm day for me. I started to say "wasted" but it's not really wasted, I'm just totally out of the mood to do anything houseworkish/domesticated/grown-up. Do y'all need to put me in detention or expell me from the village?
Good gracious...
Last night, we were going to a movie and had a flat tire. :shock: :roll: :evil:
Afraid we were really going to do some damage b/c there was no place to pull over for a while, but luckily, we got the spare on -- THANK YOU, AAA -- and today, we were able to get it patched and the man says it will be fine, still under warranty, no real damage.
Then just now, ds came over to run, brought dgs. I love to see them both, I really do, I promise... and I definitely need the exercise (I walked 2 miles w/dh & ds, too) (and it is the most amazingly perfect day out today) but when we do this, it shoots about 2 hours, maybe more. We walk, and then we visit/chase dgs... and I am just exhausted when they leave.
So that is why you haven't seen much of me this week:
Monday -- supper w/ds-ddil-dgs
Tuesday -- babysat dgs while ds-ddil went to movie
Wednesday -- babysat dgs while ds-dh went to ballgame
Thursday -- walk/visit w/ds-dgs
Friday -- walk/visit w/ds-dgs
And Sunday, dgs will be back while ds-ddil go to Nashville. PLUS -- daylight savings time will have dh & me both out of sorts... AND I'm afraid a dcousin's father's funeral visitation will be that day. Just heard about it today, and don't know any of the arrangements, but I feel we "have to" go, whenever. DH is not so sure. Says sometimes you just can't do everything you think you need to or want to.
Actually, I don't even know the deceased personally, but I'm pretty sure dh does. His wife is my ddad's first cousin (double first cousins, if you want to know the truth) and she -- the wife -- is sorta an annoying member of the family. OTOH, I graduated with the son, he played football for dh, and I taught both his daughters in school... so... need to go.
Also talked to dmom on phone for a long while today. She is, in her words, having a big pity party, b/c she has another UTI. Getting meds today. And no, she has not gotten any Azo or D-Manose yet. :roll: :( :evil:
I am going to lie down, read for awhile, and I have already told dh he is on his own w/his dmom today. I have had it.
Tomorrow is another day.
Harriet, I had wondered if somehow my cc was also on the Target list and that was why they told dh it was on some "compromised list" when he called them from FL b/c they kept blocking it. I also didn't go to Tar get during the time frame of concern. .. We finally gave up and left it blocked since they seemed to be ignoring dh's phone requests to unblock it. It would be unblocked for a day - then blocked the next. We still need to call and have it reissued.
Tutoring ran long - and we didn't even finish what we were working on. I am now really tired of analyzing the English language. :shock: The good thing is that means we're dealing with more and more difficult/subtle stuff, which means my tutee is making progress! Then, while leaving the library, I ran into a hs friend of ds' also at the big U here, and he was very chatty, so I chatted with him a bit. I need to leave soon to go with GG to pick up her dfriend; kitchen is still a mess. I htink I'll try to clean it up. Maybe I'll call dh while doing that.
I'm sorry I'm not cuops right now. . .
