1st Day of Spring, Thursday

Made it to my meeting just fine. I'm not going to miss that board (non-profit housing) but I'll miss some of those one it.

Picked up some groceries and dh's dinner on the way home.

Made appointment to sign the lease (Tuesday - we have 4 things to do that day in town.)

Asked for details about changing our address vs. keeping our mail box and having the mail forwarded. Mail forwarding for the business is friggin expensive (over $1K per year) so that isn't going to happen. On the other hand, we'd have to change our address on our business checks. They cost a dollar each and I have to buy 100 at a time. In Canada, I'm not sure I can order from other than my bank. Will look into that.

So we'd like to keep our address because of our business cards and checks. Still thinking this one through. We can keep our box until the house sells and actually get 90 days to make arrangements after that (either renting the box or just having all our mail forwarded.)

So much to think about. You guys are going to be hearing about this for the next three months.

Just sent ds a note regarding his income tax. If he isn't coming home, I have to file it for him.

What a wonderful way to spend the first day of spring! Yes, we had a wonderful visit with Dee and dh. The weather was perfect and the drive didn't take quite as long as we thought. Lots of good conversation and delicious strawberry shortcake! I think we have lots in common and our dh's do also. We were able to sit at a nice table in a garden area of the farmer's market. Dee, I am just so glad to be able to meet you and I'm looking forward to a visit next year. ♥

All the fruits and vegetables looked delicious...we bought a sack of peanuts and a flat and a half of strawberries and will share them with both dson's families local here. We'll still have a lot to eat/freeze.

On the drive home dh wanted to do some walking, so we stopped at IKEA in Tampa and walked slow through both levels. Traffic was bumper to bumper but kept moving and we got home about 4:30 pm. I really enjoyed our day out.

Ivy, I'm so happy that dgd14mo. is well enough to be home.
Harmony, I would have thought your dh would have longer PT sessions.
Kathryn, I think your account of your moving plans is interesting and has lots of good information and advice.
Lucy, I think the E Eggs you chose for dgs are good. You can always get the cross another time.
Helia, I haven't been back to PA since we moved to FL in '85, but I remember thinking that spring took so long to come back, especially after a particularly long cold snowy winter.

Tomorrow will be soon enough to do my weekly housekeeping. For supper dh had an eggbeaters omelet and I had a dish of fried rice with chicken, and what for dessert??...of course, sliced strawberries!

I was a sack of potatoes also today. Just call me "spud".

It sounds like Sunny & Dee and husbs had a nice day. I'm jealous! But, Sunny, we might be up sometime soon. DH has ordered a big swale pipe online and we are to pick it up somewhere in CW and he's said we'll be able to stop and visit. I don't know when yet, but I do know we'll have to come up in the dump truck so we can use the rack on top for the pipe. Delivery to this area is way too expensive.

DH therapy should probably end at about the 6 week mark. That will take him through next week. If he was having any issues and still improving they could extend it because apparently medicare has a bunch of $ allocated to outpatient therapy even if one has been inpatient for a while. Who knew?! Anyway, today DH asked if there will be anything else added and was told no, just come and we'll do everything together a couple more times. The biggest thing is just walk, walk, walk, and he's surely doing a lot of that.

I really just sat around today, made meals, cleaned up the kitchen, nothing very interesting. I don't know what's wrong with me, if I'm depressed, or discouraged, or just tired out - still - from the past weeks or just lazy. I suspect some of each.

I need to get myself going somehow. I'll need to cut the grass (DH can't get onto the tractor yet) and I need to go to the store and get bread and milk. Tonight I used some of the chicken I cooked up earlier and made an oriental dish with bean sprouts, etc., and rice. It was easy and quick.

CI ~ I survived the day. Had to take dgson to the school so he could work on his sience fair project. I read and wrote in my journal after going to the library. Checked out a few books one with knitting patterns in it one for dgd another I had read but did not pay attn. go the knitting patterns in it got a big print version and that was perfect!

We brought dgsons homework home in the trunk so he could work on it and he did that most of the rest of the afternoon. Still not done with two subjects.

I was not in a good mood today but worked through it by evening.

Harmony, we'll look forward to you and dh visiting. Come anytime! Dh's therapist told us that Medicare allows more than 6-week session per year. And you are anything but lazy!

Had corned beef in apple juice in the electric pressure cooker. 3 Lbs./$9. Something (seasonings?) or walking/yoga, after a week of not doing it, has made my body achy. I have Fibro, so it could be seasonings in the meat. I'm not stressed out, since baby dgd is home now, feel quite relieved, so don't know what's causing it. I feel fine other than the throbbing body aches.

I'm working on a letter, want to do some reading and crochet this evening, which is relaxing.

Today was one of those special days, that at the end of it, you realize you had a perfect day. I spent the day at dd2's. Dd2, the 4 little kids and I went out for lunch for dgs10's bd. He chose the Chinese buffet. After lunch we went back to their house. Dd2 headed to town to finish shopping for his gifts, party supplies, etc. After dd2 got back, I shopped from her purchases for my gifts to him. Worked great for me. While she was gone, the kids behaved and I worked in the playroom. It is a huge room. Dgd4 and I picked up all the Barbie dolls and stuff, kitchen items and the Fisher Price doll house people and furniture and put them in their storage containers. Then I vacuumed the room. After dd2 got back, she finished packing up and sorting thru things in the dining room. I vacuumed in there and then just spot cleaned the floor. I told her I would mop it soon.

Dh took off work early to get a motorcycle ride in. He had to come out to dd2's and get his sunglasses since they were in the SUV. Dsonil had said he would not be home until 8 for the party. So I suggested to dh that we go to eat Mexican food and then we could run to HDepot and look around until time to head to dd2's. The party was just our entire family and dgd17's boyfriend. Dh watched "Frozen" with dgs19 and the other dsonil. The cake was delicious and dgs10 really liked all of his gifts. It was just a happy, memorable day.

Dgd2 picked out a purple swimsuit that has a net tutu attached. She is going to have it wore out before she can swim in it. She is forever putting it on so she can dance. That was her party attire. Right before "Frozen" ended, she changed into a navy eyelet dress. She looked so cute in it and kept twirling and curtsying. Then she was trying to dance. I think she inherited my 2 left feet, when it comes to dancing. Dd2 commented that Miss Sabrina doesn't know what she is in for, when she has to teach dgd2 to dance.

It will be so nice when we leave dd2's in the future to just have to go 2 1/2 blocks to get home.

Tomorrow it will be low 50's with wind and only in the 40's over the weekend. I'm not complaining though, today was a great reminder of what a spring day is. 23 years ago when dmil was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in mid March and passed away in early May, that spring just passed me by. I was away from home a lot taking caring of her and the weather, good or bad was the least of my concerns. Dmil loved spring and every spring since then, I always tell myself that I am blessed to have lived to see another spring.

I think dd2 is taking the kids to the big city for an overnight trip on Saturday.

lucylee and Ivy, for some crazy reason I have 2 china hutches. One of them, all the top shelves are open. The other is a combination of shelves and doors on the top part. They are packed inside and out with my Pfaltzgraff Folk Art collection. On the open shelves, I have runners that I have made to size for each shelf. I have material bought that matches the FA. This time when I make them, I am going to make them a double thickness of material. I need to get them made, so I can clean both hutches. I figure I will be watching a lot of basketball this weekend, so with it being cold, I can work on them then.

I was so glad to hear about the wonderful visit that Dee and Sunny had.

I better drag my tired self to bed...........

Good morning! I have not been terribly productive today. I think I am going to switch to the Thursday morning art class to get my lazy bum out of bed. Fortunately, tomorrow I have a knit/crochet group in the morning to get me up. I am not sure if the lunch with friends is on, but I have sent an email for info. I have a great deal that I need to do tomorrow, so I am going to post a list. (Hope that wasn't a four letter word here). These are in order of when I thought of them, not logical order.

Remove as much fur as possible from charity crochet shawl
File unemployment claim (I have put this off too many times)
Balance checkbook
Get Medicaid info
Cook chicken (I have committed to this, it is thawing as I type)
Pick cowl pattern (the request was for 'dramatic, with fringe', the yarn is a type I have wanted to try)
Finish clean of MBR, Mbath
Clean car interior (must do so I can return shop vac to friend)
Yardwork (ok to postpone until weekend)
Get glass for picture (also ok to postpone)

In other news, I have visual confirmation that the youngest kitten has learned to open cabinets. Before dFosterCat Lara moved in, I had zero cats that could open cabinets. Now I have at least four, possibly five.

I must also remember it is Bunco night at 7:00. I should probably take cookies or something. I have too many cluttering up my freezer.

Harmony: Those folks who wait for unemployment to run out are going to be in a real fix if their search goes on too long.
