It's Friday, again!

Woke up to my alarm this morning at 6:50. Dh walked in 10 seconds later, just home from his trip. He took a red eye from the west coast. I knew he'd be home around the time I'd be getting up.

a.m. routine is about half done - I've s2s-ed, done teeth care, unloaded and reloaded dw, kitchen is clean. I left at 9:15 to go to WW and Target. My weight is up, I'm sure, but I was never told how much - and I never bothered to look. I have boiled 6 eggs in an effort to utlilize the large and growing number of eggs in my fridge.

Lunch has been eaten.

Dd18 has started inviting friends to her grad party on June 7 via a facebook page. I think she has now invited nearly 100. . .I'm trying not to panic. We will be hosting it. . . . I hope dh will be willing to help out with some things. I think he'll also be busy prepping talks for the conference for which he's leaving June 9. Not sure if I'll be cooking for it all - or if we'll cater it all or cater part of it. Will probably want to rent some tents/tarps in case of bad weather. . . .I can't think about these details yet.

Sadie, I'm glad to hear you are taking one more day of rest. How long did it take ds to get over it? (Actually, first question should be, is he feeling well?)

HRH wants to recommend this inexpensive digital flat-panel antenna in case anyone needs better reception for ordinary antenna (over-the-air) broadcast TV. He and dstepson have both bought it and in both houses it is outperforming ones that cost way more. They say the reviews criticizing the suction cup are valid, but it still works great. We are now getting a bunch of over-the-air stations we didn't know we could, so a lovely old-fashioned value (remember that? lol).

I'll have to get antennas for the tv when we move since we'll be leaving behind the antenna on the tower (although maybe we can trade it for the antenna CM & CF have at their place.) I won't be getting cable, no point since we aren't around enough to make it worthwhile.

I've done a ton of upstairs chores and am taking a break now. Need to eat some lunch (I've just had popcorn so far.)

Son is better but not quite well either. Think he is a bit better than me.

Will try to do a Conga today. It's sunny, but very cool. It'll be in the lower to mid 50's here today.

I got a mailer ready to send a "surprise" hat to a dfriend's DD.

I'm able to wear my skinny jeans now. Down 8 Lbs. since doctor's scales visit Feb. 28. Can wear smaller, more comfy bras, too. Am wearing a T-back front-hook bra now, where the straps by-pass the shoulders, where I had rotator cuff surgery on 1 in 2010, Nov. Sure is nice to not have straps dig in from regular bras.

I'd better get going on my day. There's lots to do. Allergies are "bugging" me, so will dust, dust mop and DH will vacuum.

Back from a walk with dh.

I'm kind of grumpy. He forgot (for the second time this week and about 4th time this month) that there is a bookcase in the basement that is coming with us. He keeps saying each I bring it up that he thought I was selling it. I'm grumpy because was one of two places I keep my preaching books. The other bookcase (2.5x bigger) has already been given away to dsil. I'm also giving away 1/3 of my preaching books. But I need/want the rest (a mixture of both, some are just wants, about 1/3 are need) and I'll need them accessible in the new place. I'm not sure there will be a place for my books all in one place. And my files. I only need 2' of filing space (so far) but I need to keep things on file.

It is very frustrating in that I don't get a 'room' in the new place (dh has the office but I don't get a space for me and my preaching stuff - I get spots throughout the house where my things will be scattered.)

I agree that I don't use my 'creative room' here regularly but at least it was a place to keep all my preaching materials in one spot. He took my desk out of that room, so I can't use it now, even if I did want to. As well, my desk in the kitchen was removed, so now I just have the kitchen table or the living room desk, both places where I have to share the space for other functions. (He was going to use the desk elsewhere, then changed his mind and since we were moving and I was losing that desk anyway, I didn't make a fuss, and gave up the kitchen desk to try working without a desk.)

Now my creative room is filled with things from his workroom that he wanted to get rid of, and the un-assembled parts of his desk he isn't using, and the electronics to be recycled. My creative room is a mess for me to deal with but, in fairness, part of the problem is that 1/6th of the things in there aren't mine, and it is being used as dumping ground. Plus my large bookcase was removed and all its contents are piled in boxes around the room. Now all the paintings that aren't on the walls are in the room as well, stacked against the walls. Plus a pile of things for dd.

In the new place, one could argue that he gets the office and the rest of the apartment is 'mine' but it isn't the same as having a room that is full of your own things, arranged the way you want it; a room you can let others use if you want, or close off if you don't want to share.

So I'm grumpy. I wouldn't be as grumpy if there wasn't a room set aside for the office and he had to share space too. But the office will be in the larger of the two extra bedrooms and then argued he's sharing the space with the exercise equipment (note that's coming from 'his' dressing room in this house.)

Who knows, maybe I can cram my preaching stuff into the spare bedroom. I was hoping to get the bed, my old kitchen desk and my childhood bookcase in there and there's room for a filing drawer in the closet.

Kathryn, I agree you need a spot of your own. In this house I still haven't gotten the crafty room set up, but I've felt much more settled now that I have a downstairs desk that I've set up with some storage space and my computer.

I lollygagged all afternoon and it was lovely! I need to s2s now and get together an appetizer to take to the neighborhood get together tonight. Need a quick grocery run but may see if dh can go.

well, didn't get this posted, I went ahead and s2s-ed and dh is stopping at grocery on the way home.
