I found out something this morning & it's SO EMBARRASSING! The summer of 2013, I had 2 early teens dgs's staying. 1 was nearly 13 & 1 was 14.5. I had this book by Stephen King on my small office desk, "Everything Eventual." The dgs 14.5 had read it. My dgs's come in & out of my office when I'm here, but occasionally, I'll go off to get a paper or something for them, quickly coming back.

Last summer, after 1 dgs left my office, I noticed, written in red ink, "OH, GOD! PLEASE HELP US!." I had such stirring questions in my mind.

"Why would either of my dgs's write such a thing on MY book, in RED?"
"Are my dgs's not having fun at my house?"
"Don't they know their defacing my book?"
"Don't they even like me"
"Don't they respect my books & my feelings?"
"I wonder which dgs did it?"

Today, HARK! Dgs-17 showed me on his phone how this red lettering, looking like it was written by hand was a part of the jacket of the book! I felt so odd & embarrassed because my 2 grson's hadn't done it at all!  Dgs-17 said his brothers will get a good laugh out of it, as I've told dgs-17 how I've been asking myself about this discovery on the book for 1 year! It's nice to know my dgs's don't deface book jackets on good books, too, & are NOT that type of kids! :) :)

Too funny -glad it was finally resolved, Ivy.

And by the way, Harriet & Kathryn, we were at a TSC today and lo' and behold I found the right Gimbal's cherry lovers. Probably was looking in the wrong spot all the time. Now for dh to try them.

Hi from Virginia. I missed checking in here yesterday. We were at the airport a little after 9 am yesterday morning, place left at 10:50 am and we arrived in D.C. about 4:30 pm. We had a layover in Atl. and were delayed leaving for almost an hour. Anyway, it was so good to see ds#3 and his dfam again.

We are just taking today to relax and visit with ddil, dgs12. Dgd16 and ddil's dmom are working today. Dgd has a job taking care of a friend's dog for a week or so, and she has a job as companion to a 12 yr old girl of another neighbor. That will last for several more days I think. I spent an hour or so this morning getting organized here. Hung up clothes that needed to be on hangers, getting toiletries to bathroom we use, making up our bed properly. We stay in their family room which has an IKEA sofa/chaise that has a pull out section making a bed. Last night the dgkids were playing Wii Sports while we talked with dson. He fell asleep, so when it got late dgs pulled out the extra section of sofa and I called ds to wake him - 3 times - couldn't get him awake, so I spread the sheet out and the pillows and blanket, we turned the lights out and went to sleep. He finally woke up about 3 am and went to his own bed. So funny! Haven't seen him yet today, he was gone to work before I woke up; he's usually out the door between 5:30 and 6 am. for the 45 mile drive to D.C.

Ddil had some grocery shopping to do, so dh and I went with her, then helped put groceries away when we got home. They have a few things planned for us to do while we are here. We try to do something different each trip. It will be interesting to see what they have planned.

I did see the notice of our website moving soon; I'm going to cuop to see what else is new.

Busy errand run this morning, including side trips to two different stores plus the vet for dog food, dog Rx, & cat litter. We're stocked up now. As soon as we got home I started the washer since I didn't finish laundry yesterday. Except for a late lunch, I was on my feet most of the afternoon taking care of mini jobs, folding & putting away laundry, & putting out fires. Still have to empty the dishwasher that I ran last night, & clear mail & misc off the dining room table. It feels good to sit here & relax for a bit. Dh is napping in the living room after cutting the grass, & neither the cat or the dog is reminding me that it is dinner time for them -- yet :) . They must be asleep, too. I'm going to cuop for a little while, then feed the pets & start our dinner. We're having burgers, potato salad & cucumber salad. We picked up a mini carrot cake when we were at the farmers market so we'll each have a little slice of that for dessert.

I know we are in good hands with our upcoming SHE move. Thank you so much to all who work here behind the scenes, keeping our little village humming along & safe, wonderful place to be.

Hello everybody. Wondering if we will all have to re-do our avatars at new place. I have several saved to my computer here including this one which looks so much like me, being so sophisticated, etc.

Up at a decent time for a change. I met 2 friends for brunch. But, being up early has it's downside - I needed long nap this afternoon. Where did my energy go?

I took a stab at my desk. I organized the mess. It's not done, just stacked neatly in piles. That's something at least. DH made frozen pizza for dinner. Yuck, I don't like it and it doesn't like me, but it sure beat cooking.

Working on a statement right now for DH. He finally got one job completed and is over there now locking up. I better get busy on the statement.

Went shopping with dd, ddil, dgs9 late this morning into this afternoon. I was fine for the first 2 stops but soon after we hit A ldis my "Charlie horse" reared its ugly head in my left leg and I could barely step. Cashed out & dgs and I went to the car. Never got out while they went into W mart. Will be keeping track of how often this happens in case I end up going to the Dr. with this thing. :| It's better tonight thank goodness. I had left my cane in the car at A ldis and definitely needed it. DD had the cart and I really didn't want to push it as it was full of cases of water for her D.C. trip in the morning. So I just hung on to the side to get to the front of the store. DGS was so helpful.

Went to strawberry social in a town about 20 miles from here tonight. DD and 2 of our neighbors joined us. I'm still full. Strawberries and ice cream -without sugar...mmmmmmm! First of the season up here. Reminds me of our day, Sunny. :D

Re the move: Don't know about avatars yet, Harmony. There will be some testing done this weekend, then we'll be able to answer more questions.

So I just figured out how to delete everything in my pm folders, thanks to Lynlee's response and I feel like I've done my housekeeping bit toward the move - even if it wasn't necessary!

Got the statement done and changed and redone. This is really a good thing.

Put food away in the kitchen. Have been using dishwasher - it's amazing how long my manicures last now!

Dee, DH gets Charlie horses in different places - his legs, also his hands - and he used to take extra potassium and calcium but has since discovered if he immediately drinks more water it's better. When he deliberately drinks more water as he works along this doesn't happen. Remember, he works out in the heat / sun. Interesting this is happening to you just as the weather has turned hotter, maybe you need more water too.
