Detour #3 of the day...... Pipe busted at MPB which resulted in DH and myself working in the attic installing new pipe to replace it. NOT fun at any time, but especially not fun on a hot summer day. Thankfully it was accomplished in less than 2 hours.

Nurse practitioner said it is rare for young boy to have UTI. She said it is usually something else. I didn't realize that so did a quick google search and her statement matches up with statement made by National Kidney website - "Because UTIs are less common in boys after the first 4 weeks of life, boys with a UTI should be assumed to have an abnormality of the urinary tract until proven otherwise." I'll be following up with LO doctor.

We are planning to go visit DSon and family tomorrow and Monday. LO is super excited about it and doesn't want the trip to be postponed. He keeps saying....I can pee. I am okay. I can do it. Poor fella is stressing about it. I keep telling him to r-e-l-a-x.....and turn the water on in the bathroom like I used to do when he was being potty trained. So far it is working. Hopefully by in the morning the antibodies will start working.

The AZO instructions says not to give to children under 12.....but the pharmacy told me that LO could take it. I'm giving him a 1/2 dose. Otherwise he wouldn't go at all because of the pain.

LadyMaverick, I didn't realize you were talking about (((LO))). I thought you were talking about a UTI in you. This is why I brought up AZO. I'm glad 1/2 pill is helping him. Also, sorry about the pipe breaking, too. It doesn't sound like a fun hot day for you. I hope LO gets a good rest, so he can get to visit Dson and family. Good luck to him and you, when he sees the Dr., too.

Dgs and DH are watching "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." Dgs is 15.5, so it's okay for him to watch it. Eli Wallach stars in it, as the "ugly" guy.

DH filled and is running the DW. A lot of our doors S-Q-E-A-K! I don't know why he uses that other black stuff, which makes a mess and doesn't work. Maybe I should "Google" something like "How to fix squeaky doors". OR go to

and put it in the search engine there. I need to run. I'm working on a rough index card plot, I'm almost done with the 4th and last one.

FF, that's when we have 5 main things to do by 5 o'clock and report it here for accountability. (Of course the idea for 5 things written down the night before - that was a P and P idea.) There isn't a thread about it - just chat in PWYC. I don't guess it's a challenge so much as just letting each other know what our 5 are and asking if others have them that day. A few weeks ago DeeClutter started a PWYC with the idea of what are 10 things to do today.

I was awakened this morning by a call from ds asking if he could come over with my green-eyed boy2. He was bringing the tractor back from the fire dept where we had allowed it to be used for some landscaping. So I watched my darling boy for the greater part of the day while ds visited and then left us to do tractor work around here.

We learned about the PBS website (we have scrubbed and swept Thomas the Tank Engine until that rascal should stay clean!), took care of the chickens, played ball and watched Tarzan cartoon movie.

Before they left, dbil came by as well and we enjoyed visiting with him.

By the time they all left, I was so tired I had to nap and 2 hours later returned to the land of the living.

Then this evening I've visited my colorist.

Fireworks - continuing on tonight so that's 3 nights. Have noticed that Tobias is affected by this, nervous. I don't see how poor Sammie put up with it outdoors and remember she used to get upset. I think that is a real drawback to fireworks shows in communities (which is illegal, at least here, but goes on constantly). Big fire was started by fireworks last night about 20 miles from here, but thankfully the ground was wet so even though many trees and brush burned it didn't travel as far as it might have. I think no one has any idea how much the noise might be affecting animals of all kinds, wild, farm, domestic. How many pets who have to be on meds for anxiety once had a bad experience because of this. Anyway, that's my complaint for the evening, after 3 nights of bam, bam, bam.

I'm still sick. DH still sick. We're pretty miserable, and pretty miserable company for each other, too.

The brunch on the holiday was very nice and I enjoyed it as much as DH, He rested up a short while and then went off to another festivity and fireworks show on his own -- I used that time to put together a casserole which I've not made in a long time and put it if the fridge to bake today. I decided I'd like one of the torillas in the casserole for breakfast/lunch today so baked it early --- by then DH had taken off for the day to a lecture and hanging out at one of the airports he frequents -- he's a pilot (GA not commercial). I was online earlier and had so much trouble I shut it down and gave up -- puttered around a bit had a bowl of granola for a late lunch, took a short nap (which I rarely do as I always sleep too long once I go to sleep) and then watched one of my favorite movies. DH arrived home toward the end of it and I eventually heated the casserole for dinner. Not all that exciting but it was a good day even so. Don't know what may unfold tomorrow but I will locate the cars -- which I didn't do today. I have a list on this computer which would do for the yellow daily list for a card but the weekly lists are a bit sketchy if I recall correctly -- I would do better to find those cards. Heading to read a bit and get to bed! Thanks Harriet -- had no idea who might still recall anything -- eldercare is a big connection and unless a person has been there hands on and involved they really don't understand it.My experience has certainly had me thinking of what I' want to have happen when I need such care -- it's a huge problem. Anyway -- I just thought I'd do a check in -- goodnight all. indy
