Back and peeking in...

Kathryn...My son had a SID's episode when he was about 3 months old. When he came home from the hospital he tended to make little funny noises when sleeping. I'd never been around new borns so thought this was sort of normal. Over time I got used to his sounds...then one night I awoke and didn't hear anything. I laid in bed thinking that...should I get up or not kind of a thing until finally I became uneasy and went into check on him.

I turned on his light and he was blue. I had no medical training ...well at least with a baby...so without thinking I swooped him up and shook him. That made him gasp for air and he began to breath again. I sat him in his little car chair thing for rest of the night. I woke my dexh to tell him what had happened, but he didn't seemed too concerned. I was using a new to the profession dr at that time and he wasn't too concerned either.

However I was scared to death everytime I put my son down, to the point that I was making my dexh check on my son because I was too afraid he might have died during a nap or at night.

Flash forwards another month...I changed dr's for many reasons but specifically because of that event. When we went in for my son's first check up with the new dr, I told him of what had happened to my son. The dr. immediately that afternoon put my son in the hospital and ordered a round of tests. Later that evening when the tech was questioning us about my son he said to me...tell me what happened when your son stopped breathing....All of a sudden my dexh got this wild look in his eyes and excitely asked...what do you mean he, our son, stopped breathing??? Seems in my panic to wake my dexh during the the night that it happened I must have said....P--- not breathing wake up...and my dexh never heard the ...he's not breathing part. :o

No wonder my dexh was so unsympathetic to my fears.

Anyway it turned out that my son had and still does to this day...sleep apnea. However it wasn't sever enough to warrent a monitor machine.

B'Sweet...Its really nice to see you back with us again. I really feel for you today. I fully understand the reasoning behind the decision, but it never makes it easy. I have always been with my animals when I had to do the same thing...And my eyes will be the last thing either Sadie or Willis will see if it needs to be done to either of them....Hugs to you big time. You are brave, strong and loving.

I am back working on my project....Sweetie is working on his car so we are both being creative today. I'm glad I have the time to do it and am not being pressured by other stuff. The genealogist that I have been talking to is going to meet my mom and me when we visit the church/cemetery where our family is buried. He said he knows where the headstones are and take us there. Then he has made arrangements for someone to meet us at the other church we want to see...my 5th generation grandfather was married there. He even sent me a map where RCG ( Robert Crispin Green) lived. Its now a housing development. How amazing is that. This guy is such a kind person to be putting all of this together for us....I am extremely happy for my mom. She never though she would ever get to see any of this even though she heard all about the churches and cemetery all of her life. And if we get really luck, my new-to-me cousin will meet us at the church and join us on our journey.

Need to focus and get back to work....I could use you Twins right about now. I have decided to decorate these albums...and the only creative experiences I have is helping my students/kids make Valentine and Mother's Day cards....We'll see how it goes...

Cya'll later..........

Reporting back in - that round is done!

Original list from this morning:
OMM for today: (Ok, let's call it a list  )
-Shabbat dinner including challah
-alteration place to drop off pants for dmom
-reorder tops for dmom, pack up returns
-call cabinet guy to set up appt to talk to him
-hang art over bed
-hang framed collage in front hallway
-take down dog crates in the garage
-mock up size for a custom coffee table in GR
-a.m. routine

-spend 1 hr at desk day
-find or buy 4 light bulbs for upstairs bathroom vanity
-send out search party for my Fitbit which I lost yesterday

Green indicates "DONE."

Next round:
-start challah in breadmaker
-break down dog crates (Why, oh why do I hate doing this so much?)
-hang collage by front door
-take dmom's pants to alteration shop
-lunch

I'll have 1.5 hours once I start the breadmaker to run the errand, but it shouldn't take long.

RR, there are lots of online tutorials and classes or you might ck out a scrapbooking class at Michaels if you have the time. A lot of it is way overdone in my opinion; I always tried to keep it simple and let the pictures and material speak.

Good morning friends!

I'm getting a slow start around here. Basically took the last two days off completely. Literally sat in bed on the computer/watching TV until well past noon.

It is 11:30am here now, but at least I can say I did accomplish a couple of things….

TADA!
read one article for college (really been ignoring this lately, not good)
piddled on internet for way to long
switched/started laundry
cleaned one corner of laundry room (it is more than it seems, this DOES count as an accomplishment)
hung blanket out to dry
cleared area for all camping gear to live in laundry room (what a concept, to have a home for all that!)
put camping kitchen tote in area
put air mattress tote in area
put both propane stoves in area
carried tent into kitchen
decided tent was too heavy for my to carry down the stairs
took a water break because I was out of breath
released ferret for play time
sent boys to water garden and release/fill water for chickens
dinner is planned (green salad with grilled chicken on top)
checked bank balance (it's ugly)
paid one bill
checked balance for only unpaid bill left that is supposed to come out of this check (not enough to pay)
started cleaning out suburban from our trip (we have been home two weeks, and it is still full  )

Up next….
finish cleaning suburban
dress for the day
go pick up lumber DH wants for project after work

Done lunch. Ds is home from training. He said it was training all right, he taught the trainer how to use the new phone system! (He had time to look up the shortcuts so was teaching them how to use the keyboard instead of the mouse to transfer calls - much quicker.)

I've also cleaned the bathrooms. Second time since moving in. This is becoming a habit! (Or it will in another 26 or 19 times depending on who your believe!)

I've updated and rebooted one computer. Will do the other in a moment.

My friend's grandson's time of death was declared at 9:30. They are just leaving the hospital now that the detectives are through with everyone. They will be taken to their home, where a grief counselor is waiting for them to help them through it all. As well, her other friend has gone ahead and will be disassembling the crib so it won't be there in the room when they get there.

I've downloaded/configured gSyncIt software to link google & Outlook together. I'm still testing doing updates from the 3 places (phone, web, desktop) and watching how it syncs in the other places. I suspect it is going to take me some time to learn which direction the updates work best

LO is napping. DH is still working on latest owie at MPB. I've been txt'ing with DD and watched an episode of 24. I just started season 1 so it may take me the rest of the year to catch up on that show. :)

And I am home again. While out I also dropped off the returns at the post office. I am making progress....

Our sprinkler is on the blink again - I need to take something out and check whether the electrical outlet for the sprinkler is dead, or if the control panel is what's dead.

After that I am going to:
-shape challah when ready
-start a last small load of laundry for "special" treatment
-30 min desk day
-put away clean laundry that I've left on my bed
-sweep & clean up a bit in the garage, around the door from the house into garage

Supper is grilled chicken with grilled squash and zucchini and a tomato, mozzarella and basil salad. With challah, of course.

:D Good Afternoon, Village Ladies! :D

5 x 5 Round 1:
1- Wrote Dgs's card to him, telling him how much we enjoyed him and about what kind of teenager we see he is, describing his good traits in a sweet way. :)
2- I wrote Ddil a letter with a cat condo craft instructional article (they have two 1-year-old cats), with some comics, and I wrote Dgs-3 and Dgs-5 and gave them stickers. :)
3- I haven't remade the bed YET, but the sheets are drying and DH will help me remake the bed from scratch. So tonight, clean sheets we come! :P :P
4- I'm doing 1 load of dark clothes/with denim jeans, which are washing now. This is the last LOL for today, as the laundry basket only has a few socks and underwear left in it, not enough for a full load.
5- I sorted the mail, I wrote 2 pen pals.

5 x 5 Round 2:
1- Honestly, I'm too worn down to do stretching and yoga. I'm not feeling well, so will not be doing this today. :(
2- I DID run my 2 daily scans though. :D :D
3- I have no "energy" left to do my big-time sweeping of the dining room/great room/entry way hall today. I'll try to do it tomorrow, after DH has left to take Dgs home. (Besides, Dgs spills crumbs, if I swept today, I'd need to sweep again tomorrow, because he's eating lunch, dinner, and breakfast tomorrow, here with us.)
4- I dated several journal exercises pages ahead and labeled each exercise with their initials and numbered them, too. I'll keep at it slowly, over the summer, until ALL pages are pre-labeled/dated.
5- I'm not even going to "fuss" with doing anymore research or work on the story, I started yesterday. I just don't have the mental capability to be "alert" or "creative" enough to do it today. :o :( I'm worn out from the past 8 days, come tomorrow, of early rising, laundry, etc... entertaining, and having company. Old Grandma is worn out.

5 x 5 Round 3:
1- I wrote my a.m. "to do" list this afternoon already, to prepare for tomorrow. :)
2- I worked on my weekly calendar reminders. :)
3- I wrote on letters. :)
4- I set my dawn simulator for 7 a.m. to "dawn" at 6:45 a.m. :) DH, Dgs, and DH's buddy will stack firewood here, in the morning, at 8 a.m., because it got way too hot to do it this afternoon. Then, Dgs will shower, and DH will take him home after that.
5- I got my morning clothes out. Merely lounge pants with a matching tunic print tank top and a cardigan, to keep the chill off my bare arms.

So I did great on Round 1 and Round 3, did a partial Round 2, but am just too tired. My digestion's messed up, I'm overly tired, and need to rest.

Nancy, It sounds like you've gotten a lot done. Hope your swim suit looks good again on you this summer, too. :D

LadyMaveric, what is gSyncit software? Is it something to do with a Smart Phone or iPhone? :?: We don't text, have the old flip phone, so I guess we're still in the dark ages, phone wise.

Kathryn, How fortunate for your Dson's trainer to have your Dson to teach him how to use the new phone system. That's great! :D

Hi, Ducky! :D At least you got your suburban cleaned, even if it's been 2 weeks, right? It's not like 8 weeks! Look on the bright side!

Twins' Mom, You're doing great today, too. I'm all fizzled out today. I'm glad you seem to have energy though. :D

RR, That must have been so scary for you and your Dson's SID's episode when it happened. It's good your Dson, as an adult, have discovered his sleep apnea.

Waving to Dee, and others of you who have been here and are gone again. :D

Good afternoon!
Our morning was taken up with prep for and installation of a new ISP. It has unlimited data so I feelmuch better than I did when we just had 5 gig per month. PLUS - itis $30per month cheeper.
So now my Kindle is conected all the time plus the print is bigger and easieer to read.

Going to tryy mashed califlowe insted of potatoes for dinner tonight. We'll see how it goes.

Upping our Canadian population is always a good thing...

Hi every one!

Actually slept in today. If sleeping in counts when you get up at 6 for an hour, go back to bed and then sleep until noon.

Went to my favourite stitchery shop, which is on the very edge of Lake Ontario. Nice drive there, but the Friday afternoon traffic wasn't much fun on the way home.

I've been lurking a lot lately. My dad's house is for sale, but I don't know how to do a link. I will post it in MO when I figure it out. Thank goodness we had so much done, including a professional stager. It looks great in pictures.
