Good Morning, Village Ladies!

It's another beautiful day here, will be about 90* they forecast, and we're lucky that we have a heat pump to cool us down.

I finished reading "Hidden Treasures," last night. It's an excellent book. I recommend it to anyone. The authors are Paddi Newline, (Flylady's real-life sister), K. R. Hartley, and Jessica Oliver, (Flylady's dniece). It was a real page-turner and I read it within 24 hours. It's been ages since a book's done that to me!

I'm going to take my folder control journal, which is full of 4 x 6" SHE card routines, and make more of the pages into Flylady recommended control journal pages, only I'll use my SHE cards.

I'm crocheting on a Christmas afghan for dgs-5.5 and it's looking good, albeit I'm in the beginning stages.

Need to run! Am going to listen to a co-writer's Blog-Talk Radio interview this morning for an hour. It'll be fun. I've listened to one of his old podcasts, he sent me a link to recently. It's always good to learn more about our craft.

I'm making baby step progress....
** DGS17 school jeans ordered (YEAH for easy online shopping) and the tracking info sent to him. It is now up to him to make sure they arrive and are correct.
** LO birthday celebration prep continues......I posted on FB foodie group asking for best place to get 100 pieces of fried chicken. It looks like two places are being recommended over and over. I'll ask DH if he has a preference before making the order.
** REfrigerator cleaned out
** fresh Tomatoes processed to the freezer (salsa)

Hello. Boy, take a day off and so much happens in the village!

LadyM, I hope dh's arm heals well. DH had stitches in his arm when the mirror he was removing from the wall caught him, and he could see bone too. He hardly has a scar now.

Did anyone see the news where an axe flew off a landscaping co's dump truck and went through a car windshield and stuck into their dashboard? Yikes! Lucky it didn't hit anyone.

Can't believe Dee's area is getting more rain. We've been missing rain, storms all around but not here.

Got bills paid out in time for the mailman and got a long statement done.

I need to clean up kitchen, it's a wreck. Fold laundry, more work at my desk too. I am fighting a nap.

Got a superficial house blessing done while watching tv. Carried my laptop from room to room.

Still need to load the dishwasher and run it, and stack the paperwork on the dining table in an organized fashion.

My sister is on her way here now. She'll check out the place in sunlight, then go back to the hotel for swim, then come back for dinner.

repairmen been here and is now gone. so far everything working we will see when it get later in the day thats when we had the most problems so fingers are crossed for good luck.

Now going to head for town couple a couple of errands to run

More on LO birthday prep.....
** researching how many people the different sizes of cakes serve. Looks like a full size sheet cake will take care of it (serves 72 - 96 people depending on portion size)
** researching places available to order cake.
** taste vs easy availability consideration. ....LO won't remember the taste but he will remember if he has a cake. Because of the time crunch that day, easy availability is more important this year. Hopefully the taste won't be too bad.
** Grocery store type deli's look to be about the same price....within $5 of each other

I am going to take a break, put my feet up and watch a TV episode.....or nap. Whichever happens is fine with me.

ToddlerN is here this morning to play with dgd they are having fun. Cookies have been made. I have completed the yarn I have ready to ply.

My sister is on her way back to the hotel. We'll pick her up for dinner later.

Dh will be home soon, he just called as he drove by dd's highway exit so in non-rush hour that's a 15 minute drive. Goodness knows what it is in rush hour!

The sun is still out although they are getting rain a few miles north of here. I can see it which is kind of cool. Dsis enjoyed sitting out on the balcony looking at everything. I'm hoping the threat of rain goes by and we can eat out on the balcony tonight.

I've remembered to pick up the mail and flyers today (they are only out for 1 day in the mail room) and have two bills to pay now.

Good Afternoon, Ladies!

I got my hair cut into a short bob, so I can wear my hair behind my ears with clips or headbands, to show off my earrings. I *LOVE* it.

We then went to Joann's so I could pick up 2-Lbs. of red yarn for Dgs-5.5's Christmas afghan. His fav color's red, so the main color throughout, with contrasting color stripes and red edging, will make him Very Happy at Christmas. Dgs-3.5 will get blues mostly in his, with a little "robots quilt" colors his Dmom sewed for his and his dbro's twin beds. I picked up another tote for $1.99 to carry my yarn home in.

The blog-talk radio show was great, but I missed the last 1/2-hour. My writer friend did a great job. I'll listen to it again, what I missed, on the archives, which are re-broadcasts of shows there. I enjoyed it a lot, wrote some tips on a post-it note, to help motivate me, because from him, I always re-learn or learn, something new.

It's getting hotter and hotter outdoors, but since we have cool air running from the heat pump, it's keeping the house nice. I'm catching up on snail mail, so it's done before Dgs-almost-11 comes on Sunday. I'll get his bathroom ready for him, too.

I need to run and dry 1 LOL. It's my one and only road. On my cat desk calendar, the cat for today is a "Scottish Folds" cat, they explained a bit about them, they're very relaxed, gentle, and are affectionate. Their folded ears are expressive and they make great pets with their Zenlike, laid-back approach to life. Sounds like a good trait for an adult human being, too, except for the ears part and fur coat.

Kathryn, I hope it won't rain and you can enjoy a balcony dinner, too.

Nancy, It sounds like ToddlerN and DGD will have fun with you today and with each other.

LadyMaverick, I hope you'll get a great b-day cake, too. It sounds like fun.

So sorry to hear about your DH getting his arm cut. I hope it heals quickly for him, too.

Harmony, I am glad your DH got a good healed arm and hardly has a scar now.

I saw the Internet news about the axe striking a car. Close call! I'm glad nobody got hurt.

Hmmmm, timing dinner for 7ish but haven't heard from my sister yet.

Roast chicken is on, yorkshire pudding batter is mixed and in fridge, waiting to go in oven when we get back from picking up my sister. Carrots are cut up, brought to a boil and now cooking over the oven vent. Salad is made. Watermelon is cut for dessert. I won't know until the last minute if we are eating outside or in, so the table is not laid but I have trays ready with a lot of what we need.

So a moment's rest.

Dh got home. He brought newspapers from the hotel so I read those before starting dinner. We also emptied the garbage and recycle. So that's another item off my SHE chore list for today.
