Well, barring any unforeseen complications, it looks like I'll be leaving here October 16th -the day after my Dr's appointment. Friend from here just stopped by to tell me she'd go with me. Told her to go ahead and book a flight for her return trip. She said she'd have to fly S West (direct flight as she has to take meds to even get on the plane). It will cost more but that's okay. We told her we'd pay for her flight back. Now to let dd know that she won't have to take time off for that. Which is a good thing since she's had to use days this week -she's been quite sick all week. As it is she's taking off 2 days week after next to fly up for a wedding. She arrives here late Wed., the 17th & flies back about 5pm on that Sunday. She tries to get as much time out of it as she can. DSonil won't have to pick her up or take her to Orlando as she decided to drive & park her car. Think it was $14 for her to park for those days. Really cheaper than dsonil running her both ways -between gas and tolls. It's $10 in tolls round trip so they'll save $10 right there, plus the gas.

Dh said he got 29mpg today so it's creeping up. Anxious to see what I get when I actually leave for FL. I'm already thinking and planning what and how to pack, RamblinR! Have to remember that I now will have baggage for a '3rd' person as well.

I was finally a 'happy camper' with the laundry room today. For the first time this year my clothes were actually dry! The machine 'fixer' came Tuesday and upped the time and the temp. Finally! Just hoping for dcampowner's sake it's not too little/too late. People were really tired of having to put in another $1.25 for a few minutes to get clothes dried OR take them home and hang them around. Might even be able to set the dryer on normal for some loads. Have dried everything on heavy duty. Next year we'll have the laundry room 40-seconds from us. Really looking forward to that!

Went through our filing basket again today and got rid of a lot more paper and shredded some more. Also found the receipt for dh's visit to the pulmonologist. Thought I had gone with him, but evidently not -it was April 14th. But I see nothing on it about a future appointment so will have to research that tomorrow. Think he usually sees him twice a year. Hopefully they can find out what's what via his records.

Dh's doctor almost gave him a pneumonia booster last week. But looked through his records again and saw that he gave it to him last year -mainly because of all the problems he was having with breathing and his heart. So today I found the print out from his flu shot last year AND the pneumonia vaccine. His online record was saying he was 'overdue' for the pneumonia. I guess for the most part people only get it once unless there's reason to give a booster.

I am loving ALL the stories about the children, but oh my goodness... helia!!! I am ROFLOL @ ds trying to write without looking!!! LOL!!!

DS & I walked two miles, plus he ran two miles, and now he has gone home and dgs is here while he teaches his lessons this afternoon. DH is playing golf again.

I keep forgetting -- I have a question for y'all re: magazines and how to discard.
I know the basic process... one in, two out... if you have an article you think you want to read, tear it out.
THAT'S my problem. In the magazine basket by my bed, I have a BUNCH of articles torn out that I never seem to read. I guess I should just give myself a deadline and say, okay, at the end of the month, they all go to the garbage. If I haven't read them by then, don't even remember what they are about/why I saved them, then probably they are not important, right?

I save waaay too much stuff like this -- magazine articles, stuff I print out from the internet, all kinds of stuff like this. Weight loss tips... anxiety/stress reduction tips... inspirational/motivational tips... organize your home tips... sooo much stuff...

My head hurts. Dmom's house smells very bad - dbro is smoking in her basement again and the stench drives me crazy. And she can't hear anything and we didn't go find her hearing aid for I feel like I've been talking very, very LOUD all afternoon. She is just increasingly confused. I asked her whether she had been contacted re: physical therapy that doc was supposed to have ordered on Aug 25 and could never get a straight answer as to whether they had contacted her. She kept talking about "Erica" and an appointment on Wed. but there was no paperwork anywhere that I could find to indicate that anyone had visited. Called home health care agency, and they hadn't rec'd an order from the doc for it. OTOH, dbro reported that he heard the end of a phone call that he thinks was from home health care indicating that she needed to contact doc about the order. So who knows? I left a phone message with doc office indicating that the home health care people say they didn't receive an order. So confusing when Mother doesn't remember and can't hear. For the record, I think that "Erica" was the woman who cut her hair a couple of weeks ago.

I need to print out the form for dsis and start on that. I don't know what dh's evening plans are.

Lucylee, I don't save magazines, except for a couple of months for reading. I've heard that there is a place where back copies of magazines are stored archivally for a very long period and you can visit this place during regular business hours if you ever feel the need to read that magazine again. OTOH, I do scan or clip some articles to save electronically in Evernote.

And good news to report - dMacs has a staph infection on his skin (which we knew) but.....(drum roll) it is not MRSA! I don't have to use gloves anymore and the antibiotic he has already been on for a week is the correct antibiotic to treat. Oh, so happy....

Hi everyone! I am no longer carless. No, my car is still at the spa, I have borrowed my friend's spare car instead, so I no longer have to worry. I got it in time to take Bolita Marvelous to the vet for her ER followup. Vet said she is healing well and just needs to continue the antibiotic (which she loves because I put it in canned cat food). The borrowed car has no AC, so I put an ice pack in the cat crate, and she rode quietly.

Last night, I sewed the bodice to the Anna costume and cut the gold strips for the skirt (10 * 4" strips). Of course, to do this, I actually had to uncover the sewing table! I am going to try and keep it clear. I also drew the 'side north yard' and the 'back porch' cards from my crisis cleaning jar and worked on those. Much improvement, but a large bug bit is now driving me NUTS!

I decluttered some stuff in the kitchen while I waited on my friend with the car and hung a piece of stained glass I made in art class. After returning from the vet, I realized my to do list was so enormous, I put it on the computer and printed it out (just in case it gets lost). I drew the 'sewing room' crisis cleaning card and made good progress there. (I set the timer for 15 minutes per card and do whatever I can. If the card is complete, I put it in the trash. If not, it goes back.)

International Observe the Moon Night is September 6. One of the museums near me is having a free event and I will take DD12. Check your area for goings on.

DeeClutter: I know what your camp owner can do to return customers to his laundry machines. Send out a notice saying they are fixed and offering a free 'trial load' to test them out. They'll come back.

I think I have completed these forms as best I can. One email to realtor asking about any additional closing cost so I can estimate proceeds.

I am going back out to pick up meds for dMacs now.

Are we telling child stories? I'll tell probably the same ones ya'll have heard before, but I do have favorites.

Ddnow34 was the one to the rescue, at age 6 or 7, when dsnow29 took off running in a parking lot and ran into the middle of the "road" of the lot. I was close on their heels and couldn't believe my toddler got away from me like that. Big sister was fast and grabbed him by his clothes and pulled him down backward, sitting, and sat with her legs spread into a V around him, arms around him. She was making a bigger person for drivers to see, she said. There was no one coming, but she was a great rescue-er. Wish she'd have been so conscientious the times she was the one who had bright ideas that got him hurt.

When ds was little - well it was '89 so he was 4 - Hurricane Hugo took out our whole area's electricity for 7 days. Ds watched from our square deck as crews from VA worked on the lines. (He loved big trucks) Suddenly the electricity came on and he heard one of us call out, "we have power!" Ds started skipping in a circle around the deck singing, "There is power, power, power in our house." He almost never sang, but remembered the tune from church.

Dd and I were leaving church in the car when she was little and we smelled a skunk. She said the whole world should be grateful to God. I agreed, and asked why. "Because he never lets ALL the skunks get mad at the same time."

I enjoyed everyone's stories so much and it's fun to share, even my old favorites.

I am with Twins' Mom today, with worries about other households. In-laws having to deal with a lot.

Spent most of the day with dd today so that was great.

Got the house blessing finished (except for cleaning toilets and dusting the living room properly) just in the nick of time. Was hot and bothered so dd sat with me in my room while I changed into cooler clothes and then our lunch guest arrived.

We had a nice lunch out on the balcony and then she and I headed of to IKEA, then the house to pick up gardening things, and then groceries and finally her house. She has received a notice that she has x days to remove a sapling from her yard. Except the sapling isn't in her yard, it is in common area and has grown so large it requires a tree saw. Not sure why it is her problem (obviously previous tenants didn't do anything so that should make it a fight between the landlord and condo board and not her issue.) I loaned her the good pruners but I don't think they are strong enough to do the 2" diameter trunk. The sapling started literally under the fence dividing her 'yard' from the common area but grew on the sunny side which is the common area.

I got home at 6:20 and dinner was later because I had forgot to tell dh to make rice to go with the stew. He thought I had made the simple pork stew, not the hard one his mom used to make. So I had a salad while I waited. I'm going to have a hard time eating all the lettuce I have bought. Tried to palm some off on dd but she'd have none of it!

I'm enjoying the childhood stories very much.

Today was a busy day. After putting LO on the school bus -
** Picked up DMil
** Went with DH to two doctor offices to receive 3 shots
** DH got blood work done for next Monday diabetic checkup
** Took DMIL out to eat at her favorite restaurant (Red Lobster) for her 83rd birthday
** picked up minister ordination certificates at Christian book store
** went to cousin home (her husband died this morning) and checked what was needed. Left DMIL there to visit so we could move fast (she is a slow walker).
** Made a huge Sam's run - everything from laundry soap, paper goods, finger foods, chips, sandwich items - about $200 worth. We would rather do this than send flowers. DCousin cried with gratitude when we unloaded everything at her home.
** took allergy meds to DSIL
** Took DMIL home
** Arrived home in time for LO school bus to drop him off.
** took LO to school to retrieve his homework paper (he left it in his desk at school). Doors were locked so he will receive a 0 tomorrow. His first. Hopefully he will learn a good lesson from this.
** took LO for hair cut.
** Picked up pizza and went to DMom's house to eat with her
** took LO to watch Karate and taekwondo classes so he could decide if he wanted to take lessons. Signed him up to start both classes next Monday. AFter taking both classes he can choose either or both.
** home to serve dinner. DH arrived home and started eating but the phone rang with MPB customer woes. He had to leave to take care of that.

Next up -
** Rabbit chores (LO assist and is in training but I have to do most of them)
** refresh furkids water (soooo looking forward to a break in the heat!)
** Read 2 books with LO

We have 54 minutes before LO starts bath/bedtime routine. *POOF*
