Loved the song, Lucylee. Yes, it's a shock to parents when a child just up and leaves... at least mine went away to college first so it didn't seem so bad.

We have real communication problems here also. I see it's not unusual. We have 3 things, the usual man-impatience, and the fact that he doesn't hear well, and a medical symptom I have from medicine and age of searching for a word. When I stop to think of the word DH gets impatient. He often doesn't hear what I say and will repeat what he "heard" and it's always funny, with the right amount of syllables, but entirely different meaning. I learned very early in our marriage he was not going to be my conversationalist partner, chatting away and sharing feelings. It took me a long time to get over that, but now I don't try talking with him unless it's to share a fact or something important he needs to know. For conversation and chatting fun I have you guys and a couple girlfriends.

Made the trip out to jobsite (it's 2 interstate exits away) and helped clean up jobsite. Also went to a shop with dsil and helped her pick out some stuff. I thought she was much more decisive abut things, but am finding her different now that her DH has passed on. A lot of the stuff I credited her with doing, I'm sure now her DH had decided.

Boy it was hot out there. I still feel hot. My garden likes the weather, though, all my seeds seem to be popping up. Think I'll go put my feet up.

:? :| Twins.

Finally finished the dishes. Going to get out our clothes for calling hours in a few.

Nurse gave me a sheet after flu shot this morning. I've always said I have some reaction or something 2-4 days after my shot. I know it's not full blown shot. What it says (hoarseness, fever, aches, headache, fatigue) are exactly what happens to me. Thus I didn't want it a day before I hit the road for FL. Don't need to feel that downtrodden on the way down. Now my hope is to not feel that way on Saturday -the day of our dpastor's wedding. I always think perhaps I've 'escaped' it this year and then it rears its ugly head. But better than a bout of the flu.

Sun was out for a while and it warmed up a bit. Now it's getting dark again.

Someone posted from here the other day -on FB- a picture denoting turning clocks ahead on Sunday. A couple of us rushed to tell her that, no, that was not true. Not only is it not this Sunday, but 3 weeks away and we turn the clocks BACK. Hopefully she got the message or she's going to be mighty early for something.

Phone interview DONE!!! Thanks for all the good wishes and especially the prayers. I actually have homework from that: look up predictive analysis, azure machine learning, and hadoop (the latter two are tools) and see if I am interested. I'm thinking YEP, but will look it up after I am off here. To decompress, I ran some needed errands: bought thread, ate lunch, bought stamps, and returned a library book. The lunch was a mistake, did not agree with me. Or maybe interviews don't agree with me? I hope not the latter, because I have scheduled another for 10/10. All the time slots available were inconvenient! I think I got first dibs because I replied within 20 minutes of the time the email was sent. Either time slot will require me to cancel or postpone my cathouse commitment, and will not allow me to pick up dFriend's DD from school, which I have been doing on Fridays for a few weeks. The Thursday 10/9 time slots won't work, because DD12 is off school and will be here. We will be doing a youth group service project, for which I will be driving! There were NO good times for me to choose.

Ok, what I will be doing immediately is looking up those homework items and emailing the interviewer of my interest. (I am 99.9% certain I will be interested)!

The must dos for today: get Halloween party invitations out, organize pictures and burn CD for dad, sew the Anna dress skirt, and (if time) iron in the box pleats.

See ya!

Long day and I'm really tired for some reason. Perhaps a sugar crash. Managed to mostly stick to my grocery list (the extra item was a banana so I had something eat the moment I stepped inside the house.)

Couldn't drop stuff at ds's and pick up my phone (left in my coat pocket and I had left my coat there.) The reason was my keys to his place were also in the coat pocket! I had phoned him to ask him to look for the phone, waking him up from a surprise shift. He has 7 night shifts in a row because his co-worker is sick. I told him I was coming and then never showed up. He got worried and phoned his dad who explained I didn't have the keys.

I did drop stuff off at the thrift store and had lunch out. A healthy but high calorie choice and now dh wants to go out for dinner too.

My meeting went well. Planning for the big even next month has progressed and I know what is expected of me that weekend.

Picked up groceries on the way home. Ds is here. He brought my coat/phone/keys and is using our internet (his isn't hooked up yet.)

I have to do something to make up for poor eating today so am thinking of going to the gym tonight while dh is at his choir practice.

Hi, Dove!

Was there something going on with the server today? I couldn't get in earlier, and then when I did get here, I had to log in with my password.

Hello Everyone! It was a nice autumn day here, no rain -- mostly sunshine, and again for tomorrow.

Yesterday we had some errands to run. We went to DMV to pay for the auto tag renewal on the Cavalier, a stop at the bank ATM, a few groceries at W-M. Dh decided he wanted lunch out; we don't do that too often, but he had a gift card for Red Lobster. He had shrimp tacos and I had a salad w/grilled chicken. It was really good, but they give you so much. We both brought some home, then had it for supper. At W-M I got a new dishpan and drainer. It was way past time for that!

Elizabeth, great news that you had a 2nd interview. Good luck on your research!

Harmony, sorry you had such a hard sewing project for the lady at church. I'm glad you were able to get it done!

Dee, I hope if you do get a reaction from the flu shot that you don't get too sick and it doesn't last long. Years ago the company my dad worked for gave employees flu shots. He got one every year, and each time he was sick for 3 days. My dh will not get one and I've never had one either.

Here, dh is the one who will interrupt a conversation. But, also, we sometimes finish each others sentences!

I've had my dgd19 and our car on my mind ever since Fri when we heard about her fender bender. The other lady involved had called her dh and he said not to call the police about it. (Come to find out that he's in the military and didn't want it on his record). Ddil called their ins. co. just in case they called theirs. She also called our ins. Monday we found out that they had called their ins. co. Ddil's ins. told her that it would be best if they got the car out of my name into one of theirs (hers or dson). They had wanted to do this some time ago, but never could afford to add it to their ins. I guess now is going to be the time! We went ahead and paid the tag renewal, even though we won't get a refund back when we transfer the title, because I didn't want dgd to get a ticket if she was stopped for expired tag. Yesterday I signed the title and wrote a note stating that it was a gift, so they won't have to pay sales tax. Ds didn't say, but I think they are having to wait for payday to do the transfer; he checked with dmv and it will be about $300, and we don't have to be there. We got a call from our ins. co. this afternoon asking what we knew about the accident. He is supposed to call tomorrow and talk with dgd. .....And on from there, we'll see what's next!

Oh, I got a nice letter from dsis today! :) ;)

Well, I can't remember what I wanted to say next, so wishing you all a good evening!

C. I. Good Evening, Everyone! :D

I took about 50 minutes off for lunch, washed 1 more LOL, logged and subbed #2 story today, for Jan. issues. I quit early, about 3:50 p.m., instead of 5 p.m., as I was drained! I've got stories to outline and write by hand now. Will probably wait until tomorrow, since I'm so exhausted creatively. I want to crochet and read this evening, reply to 1 letter, and enjoy baseball and new season shows. I cleaned my desk off, put away notebook and clipboard with editor's email address where to sub and put away my ledger, which records stories done/sent and stories accepted. Got to write "Accepted" on 2 Dec. ones. :P Am so happy with them. This is fun, sticking to my new schedule. The house falls into place, too, and DH helps with dishes and LOL, too. ;)

Kathryn, Hoping you get energy level up before bedtime. :)

Elizabeth, Am wishing you good luck on this last interview. :D

Dee, You remind me- I need to run and dry LOL!

Harmony, I don't believe men "hear" like women do, especially if they have a hearing problem. DH wears hearing aids, but misconstrues so much that it's laughable, sometimes. He misses syllables, etc... even WHEN I enunciate! :?

(((Twins' Mom))), Sorry about not getting out of the house. :o

Lucylee, Glad "Answered Prayers" came through for you. :D

RR, DH cut me off about 3 times yesterday, before he'd let me finish. Sure did "bug" me yesterday, so today, my focus was on work. :P I "ignored" him, but yesterday he VOWED to do better today. I wasn't AROUND to let him be better today. I was working today, in the office. Men are comical, but life without them sure would be very boring and insidious. :!:

I need to run and get my dinner. I'm starving. Want to walk this evening, too. Only timed 5 minutes today, but did LOL, was back and forth to the office, etc... I wasn't sitting the whole time, use my timer, get up and move.

Have a great Wednesday! I hope you got your "wanna's" done. I'm glad I did mine. And they're 24 days earlier than the deadline. ;) Might BBL. Don't know for sure though. :?: Happy Wednesday Evening to ya'll! :D

I did my job interview 'homework' and emailed back that YES I am interested!!! I had my late afternoon/evening all planned then remembered, it's Wednesday. Afternoon became Bible reading and study. Got it done and had time to pull a crisis cleaning slip. It was guest bathroom, which is now sparkly, and I was able to toss the slip. After I got back, I started putting the month's church schedule into my planner. It just feels wrong abbreviating Bible study with BS, but it sure does fit better.

I am going to do about 30 minutes of sewing on the Anna skirt, and as much else as I can do in that time. There is a radio show I like that ends at 8:00. I may not have video in the sewing room, but I can have radio. Then I really need to get those party invitations done and emailed, with lots of printed copies to give out as well. I hope I have time to get dad's pictures done, that is REALLY overdue.

Sunny: It may not be a good idea to sign away the car as a gift. Some states require the recipient to pay the equivalent of the sales tax, based on the value of the car! We were able to get by cheaper with a sales receipt showing we paid $1 for the car. You pay a few cents for sales tax and no ugly surprises. May not be true everywhere, but we had to do that in TX.

LOL Dove! That's one way to make the furniture fit into the decluttering plans! Your dh is highly efficient.

Nancy - ugh. btdt. Finding a vehicle without a motor yet still interested - yes, just like a man. It always seems like a nice fixer-upper! Hope it really is what your dh will enjoy fixing if he decides on it.

Sunny, we do about the same as you with flu shots. So nice to receive letters from charming folk.

Have exercised and gotten the Evening Dailies done well.

Joining others in considering the clean slate of a new month (actually a new season as well) and thinking how I can squeeze some hoped-for activities into the days.

Oh, guess who drove me around this afternoon? ;)
