Working on the sermon. About 1/2 done. Took a break to take my pill.

My senior friend called and may not be able to come over tomorrow. She is having a kidney stone attack and cut the call short to go throw up. Sigh.... Her operation is in 10 days. Hope she lasts that long. Was talking about a DNR tonight so her mind isn't totally in an optimistic place.

Dishwasher is done so the washer is running now. I forgot to run it all day long.

I still haven't baked for tomorrow's church dinner. Will keep working on the sermon so I'm free to be distracted by that and my senior friend tomorrow.

Got a call toddlerN was here after today's yarn meeting. It went well we had fun and I was able to keep moving following her around picking up fixing dinner. It was good for me to be moving. H is watching football my team is not playing so I am catching some news about the dr. In NYC with ebola that was in the region with it treating folks for it in W. Africa.

I have more energy today that is great. News!

Hi everyone! We finally got the other stray cat! The finder had managed to get him trapped in her utility room, where he acted feral, hissing and growling at anyone who came near. After reassuring her that this behavior is actually what I WANT to see in a feral cat, we set the trap up. (Hissy, growly ferals tame faster and easier than scared ones, more self confidence). This morning, I picked him (her?) up (more growls and hisses) and brought him to the sewing room with his (presumed) brother. Apparently, that made everything ok, he rubbed up on me, purred at me, and did everything to attract my attention. I have had this happen before where an apparently feral cat becomes perfectly friendly upon entering a house. They know only two modes of survival - outdoor feral and indoor housecat, it never occurs to them that people can be ok outside.

Last night, I finished DD12's Anna costume! For my own, I have only to make the shoes (or go barefoot BRRR), get some snowflakes for my hair and get makeup. I did massive amounts of crisis cleaning and my kitchen is amazing. Here is what's left:

MBR - pick up, sweep, mop, the usual catbox cleaning
Hall - 2 minute pick up, sweep, mop (total < 15 minutes)
Bathrooms - pick up a few things in the master bath, spot clean both
Sewing room - still a disaster area, needs a sign not to let the new foster cats out, needs to be clear enough that no one trips over things to see the cats

I went to DD's softball practice, where I talked to the X. He agreed to my modification of visitation. (My new job is in another city and will cut into time with DD severely, so I asked for more time). After that, I came home and did paperwork for modification of child support. Now that I have a job, I need to pay up. Still need to do one website update, more crisis cleaning, and dinner. Probably not in that order.

Tomorrow will be crazy! DD is coming in the morning, she has a day off of school for parent teacher conferences. Morning is yarn swap and potluck, hopefully followed by my last lunch with friends on Friday, then a parent teacher conference, volunteer work at the cathouse, then dinner with a church group! In between all that, I need to bring Halloween stuff from the shed, inventory party supplies, buy whatever is missing, make the Elsa shoes, and probably do more crisis cleaning! YIKES!!!

How I love hearing about pretty gift paper, handmade bows and ribbons. What a compliment to another person to put thought into wrapping something for them.

Cowinkie, I saw some rolls of Christmas paper, so I suppose boxes are not far behind here, either. Actually, I need some boxes, too, so it's none too soon. (Paper I do NOT need. Must resist that stuff.)

Twins' Mom, I hope your dd was comforted by the photo. My mother used to resort to the same house dresses because the fabric of new ones would be harsh against her skin. At times I was able to convince her to add new ones by washing several times before giving a new one to her. This also proved that they could not be "saved for good", having already gone through the wash. I understand more and more my mother's reliance on familiar, comfortable clothing.

Kathryn, HRH would so sympathize with your friend about the pain of a stone.

UPS has switched routes back and we have an old route driver back again. Today when he delivered a package, he asked, "Where is my dog?" So that was a bittersweet conversation.

FFriend, that's Shaggy. His real name is Norville, but everyone calls him Shaggy. A nice toy to have.

Dang! I just looked up the nutritional content of dark chocolate. I've been having 1/3 of an ounce with my green tea just 1 hour after taking my pill. I can eat an hour later, but I can't have calcium, magnesium or iron until at least 2 hours later (which is why I wait 2 hours in the morning to eat, have started to take my morning vitamins at noon and have given up most of my evening vitamins.)

I checked my chocolate for milk solids and it doesn't have any. But it does deliver a good dose of magnesium and iron. In fact, 5 squares of my chocolate delivers 100% of both for the day. I should give up meat and just eat chocolate!

I cannot left click & to make your names go bold-face. I need to get DH to put new batteries in the mouse. He's watching a war movie, which is super exciting & I hate to interrupt his fun.

We broke a record for rainfall yesterday. It was over 1.34" & the day wasn't even 24 hours yet!

There are 2 people, who just flew in from Africa, in Pierce County, who are under self-quarantine because of Ebola, they haven't tested positive for it yet, but it's only been 2 days so far. In OUR W. WA State!

I got some crochet projects set up in the MBR & walk-in closet, for The Good Witch movie marathon on Hallmark-HD for Saturday. I'll be able to get a lot done, I'm sure.

I walked over 11,000 steps, so I'm tired now! I found a pedometer last night, which DH got for free, from a drug study he was on for years. They gave the nicest gifts!

Have a great night, Everybody, & on my office display card it says "Friendly Friday". I'll "TRY" to write 2 letters, to reply to 2 pen pals. They're both new gals, but very nice. I really like them!

Hi everyone! I have made progress on the dinner and crisis cleaning front. Website work, I will do now. Here is the progress:

Bathrooms - pick up a few things in the master bath, spot clean both guest bath COMPLETE! Master bath picked up.
Sewing room - still a disaster area, needs a sign not to let the new foster cats out, needs to be clear enough that no one trips over things to see the cats
LR - sweep, mop (had to add this, how could I have forgotten?)

Off to do webwork!
