LOL! I don't think I have a lot of productive energy. Many of the things I have to do don't feel "productive" at all. . . I'm glad you enjoy my posts, Harmony. I really enjoy reading the posts here -- when I have time. I find the diversity of life stages, personalities and even locales very interesting to hear about. I'm sorry about the insurance woes.

Done:
- QT
- s2s and self-care
- looked over notes for tutee R
- wrote out some questions for mentee
- tutored R
- sat with dh and dd16 for 10 minutes while they ate brunch
- met with mentee until 3 pm; she needed to leave at 3 -- it's nice when she has and end time in mind
- called ds en route home just to touch base. His group in one class is having trouble with a project. His regular 2 friends who have been his group partners for 2 years now (they even schedule classes together so they can continue working together; they also live in the house with him) are not in this class -- so he was on his own to find a group in this class. This one seems OK-ish. . . He did get a 2nd interview for a summer internship at a big software company. They actually originally contacted him via a recruiter - although, he apparently ignored the initial contact as he wasn't sure it was legit. Not the most proactive kid. They will fly him out to Boston for this interview. I didn't realize this company had a site in Boston? It is a west coast company. He hasn't made progress in writing letters to prof. asking re: research, but he is just living this project right now. Interstellar may not be happening tonight.
- returned a call to a friend from church who had left a message for me last week.
- responded to a couple emails, 1 re: moms group, 1 from TX friends re: Cmas plans
- snacked too much

Dd16 is practicing. She learned from the guy who took her to homecoming that the 3rd chair oboist is planning to challenge her for her 2nd chair spot soon. Dh is off running some errands.

I'm now going to update the laundry.

Oh my goodness... talk about stunned. Anybody watch Auburn/Texas A&M... * sheesh *
I'm going to have some awfully miserable folks coming in tonight. We played TERRIBLE... got 18 points behind by halftime... and then fought back to within 3 points... only to lose TWO fumbles in our last four plays (one right on the goal line!) and lose the game. Unbelievable. This may be our coach's first loss at home, too. Oh my goodness... dh is just going to be sick.

In other news...
I completed second load of laundry, s/s dh's shower stall, went to the post office, ate supper/dgs had supper, read the newspaper, talked to dmom, talked to dmom's flooring man, talked to dmom again, ordered those tickets I mentioned earlier...
... and spilled almost all of a 16 oz. Diet Pepsi on some Very Important Papers of dh's. * big sigh * One is a newspaper sports section that I think he'd be throwing out today anyway, replacing with the one in today's paper... but the other is a yellow legal pad w/a bunch of writing on it that it would take a CIA code person to decipher, LOL. It's all this tiny, tiny writing -- I think where dh keeps up with what games are on what channels? I really have no idea, but he is always holding it and checking the tv listings...

I think I got it dried up before the ink ran or anything. I screamed and grabbed it and ran to the kitchen for paper towels, and I was telling dgs, "I have spilled this coke ALL OVER gdaddy's papers!!!"
As dgs said, "Oh no..."
LOL... Looks like everything is drying out nicely now.

House is a huge mess, but dgs seems happy, I taught him to sing "I've Got the Joy, Joy, Joy, Joy Down in My Heart," and you know... win or lose, life is good for now -- as dh said, while we're having a little reprieve from elder care crises.

Oh-- FelineFriend -- I saw that episode too! Looks like Sunday night is REALLY going to get interesting, b/c it looks like Allison's mother-in-law (I think) is getting suspicious... according to the DVR, looks there are 11 episodes total. IKWYM -- I don't like what they're doing At All... BUT... figuring out who killed Allison's husband -- if we're right that he is the person who was killed -- and figuring out who is the father of her second child -- and finding out what the police are going to do about the murder/if it is a murder -- all that makes for fascinating viewing!

LucyLee , Yes, I agree! The morals of "The Affair" couple are so questionable and shocking! But it's good to see how this story's winding up, speeding towards the death of "whomever" and who's the father on Allison's child! I don't know if it's Noah, if it's her own DH or who! I'm also wondering, if the death, was deliberate murder or an accident, like hit and run, so it's getting very, very good. Wow. I enjoy it so much. I watch it during the week, because DH watches it with me, but on Sunday nights at 10 p.m., we watch CSI on CBS. However, CBS has matched CSI up against football now, so they're running re-runs. I searched on-line, many people are so angry about it, can't "understand" WHY re-runs now, which are 2 years old, or so? It has something to do with the writer's strike back in 2008, so they're airing fewer episodes. IT we recognize CSI being a re-run, early enough, (sometimes we forget from 2 years ago!), we'll certainly turn it over to "The Affair" instead.

What team were you for? Auburn or Texas A & M? It was some kind of game! Wow!

I did 2 LOL, put them away, wrote a long letter, to a friend, had to get extra paper, add a postcard stamp, to the 1st class stamp, as it got heavier. It was so fun, to chill out, and just write and write to her. We had leftovers for dinner, I'm super tired now, don't know why, except I didn't get to sleep until 2:30 a.m., but slept until 8:30 a.m. I walked 1/2-hour, which was nice, would like to putter around, to get some light housework done, this evening. Perhaps that will wake me up?

Helia , I've read things like, "Are you "busy" or are you productive?" I guess there's a difference between the 2. People can be busy with all sorts of things, but not be productive. Yes, your posts are good. I like the diversity of those things, too.

Lucylee, what channel are you all watching that show on? I don't think I've ever heard of it.

What was I thinking making a turkey dinner? EEgad that was a lot of work. And the washing up...at least three big sink fulls of very big pots and pans and roaster.... but supper was good and I have a nice dinner to take Sandi for her DH and her son. Her last MRI told them her bones in her neck have finally begun to heal a little. It's a miracle!

Anyway, I've been sleeping on and off this evening, just worn out.

Lucylee, it's fairly easy to sign up for Medicare. Be sure to do it at least 3 months before the month of your birthday...yours would be May 1st. It starts the beginning of your birthday month. I did it online for both DH and myself. We have not begun to collect SS though, I haven't done that yet. We did talk with an insurance agent about our insurance (supplemental and part D drug policy). There are a couple ways to go... instead of regular medicare and a supplement you can get an advantage policy...and that's cheaper but there's a ton of out-of-pocket expenses to pay that way. We did the regular ins. and supplement and DH's hip surgery was all completely paid for. It's better insurance than we ever had in private life, but yours might have been better than ours was.

It has been a very long day. Got there at 8:05. Left at 11:11 p.m.

It wasn't as physical as I thought it would be, I'm still not up to 10K steps for the day and will likely be just under by the time I fall into bed.

The music tonight was LOUD and not to my taste. My body physically reacted to the pounding of the drums and the over amplified voice. I had listened on YouTube to pieces the artist had done and enjoyed their jazzy, bluesy, sound. But she's upped her energy and volume and there was no way lyrics were heard. Which is a shame because they are very affirming. But, live, they are unintelligible. We sold more CDs yesterday than today.

On the other hand, despite being quite diva-ish, starting late, and having a lot of stuff with her picture on it and expecting radio and TV to be there for interviews, she was reasonable sweet as well, giving me big hugs and lots of thank yous. She took time to introduce herself to dh before performing and the band spent time chatting with dh when they were off stage and were all wonderful people. So there are layers to her. I'm not sure she's surrounding herself with management who will keep her grounded. On the other hand, she might just be a huge breakthrough artist in the next year and I'll be able to say that I've hugged her.

The rest of the day was perfect. Excellent first workshop with the Moderator on poetry. Then a good workshop with last night's entertainer. Long lunch hour (I actually was able to eat off site after unloaded the artists' equipment) and then amazing closing worship. It was totally amazing. The Moderator did it with two jazz musicians and it was everything I love about good worship, innovative, space to breathe and encounter God, melodious, and thought provoking.

In a way, I wish the day ended there because I would have loved to have time to absorb and reflect, but we had a rushed 20 minutes for dinner and then I was on my own in the Narthex for the next 4 hours. Couldn't leave so couldn't get a break from the music.

Breakdown went much faster than I could have imagined, though. I sent the chair of the committee and her husband back to the hotel because she was exhausted and we had many more hands than we needed. Dh and I were the last out except for the custodian.

Now to relax enough to sleep. Tomorrow we have a long drive to see the Moderator again, this time at a town hall on the future direction of our denomination.

Kathryn , It's nice to see you here tonight! Sorry that music was so loud!

Harmony , "The Affair," is on Showtime Channel. It's on at 10 p.m. in the Pacific NW. There's the Showtime website, which has more info about the show, the characters, etc..., too. They may list the times it's aired in your area, if they have it there, too. It's very good, mysterious, very suggestive, but interesting, too. I feel so sorry for the wife of Noah, who is oblivious, so far, to anything going on. I love the actress who plays the wife. Maura Tierney, I believe, who was an RN and later Dr., I believe, on "ER". She's wonderful, I love her voice, and how she looks, what she wears, and her entire demeanor.

I scrubbed 3 toilets, dumped trash, washed my peak flow meter, and believe I should probably work on my calendar reminders. I could check my Holiday Journal/Home Journal chore pages, too, and write reminders there, on those pages, because I see a week at a glance. I keep it in my office, which is good for me, because it's not clutter like it is on the kitchen counter or dining room table, when I keep it in those rooms. It's nice to get up from my laptop, look at it, and then go about my business.

It'll be in the 30's at night, this week. One day will have freezing fog in the morning, too. DH goes to the Dr. Monday morning and Thursday he has a 2 - 3-hour retiree's luncheon. I need to make plans for what I'll do while he's gone on Thursday, too. I might work on cleaning my china cabinets and pantry floor. The dust, etc... is driving me absolutely nuts. Once, a LONG time ago, DH said to me, "So-and-so's floors are so clean! I don't think you can see ANYTHING BELOW YOUR KNEES!" Oh, my! I was not a happy young wife when he said THAT to me!

Has anybody else had their DH ever say something like that, which was true, made you think twice about it, and you tried to improve, to show him you COULD do better, so they never say it ever again???? Men are so funny, comical.

FelineFriend, we are Auburn fans. DH and DS (along w/most of dh's brother, niece, nephew, and several cousins) are all Auburn graduates. So. Yeah. It was a good game, but not good enough.
And to top it off, the Other School in our state eeeked out a win in overtime, on the road, at LSU.
There are a few people in our state who honestly do pull for both our major universities, but most fans follow the philosophy that "My favorite team is Auburn and Whoever Alabama is Playing." There are actually t-shirts with that printed on them, and vice versa for Alabama fans.
My goodness. My mom is honestly a fan who wants both teams to win, though. She was really aggravated after our game and called me to sympathize. She grew up an Alabama fan, as did my dad, but neither of them went to school there. Then my brother did graduate from Alabama, so she's really pulled in both directions now, and she is truly happy for either team to win. My brother is not a HUGE fan, in that he doesn't follow sports like dh or ds, never played in high school, etc... and didn't even attend all the games when he was a student there. He sent me a message tonight saying he expected a good game when the two teams meet in three weeks... but I don't expect a good game. If we win, it will be a miracle.

And dh is grumbling about his papers. But then he stubbed his toe so hard he thought he broke it, and that took his mind off his other troubles for a little while.
He said he missed me last night, and he brought me cookies from my favorite bar-b-que restaurant on the road.

DGS was glad to see his mommy and daddy, and they left as soon as the Alabama game was over -- they came in just as it went into overtime. All the toys are put away, dh has unpacked, we're ready to settle in for the night. Of course, Mr. OCD says he'll be up all night, catching up on his newspapers and websites he follows and misc stuff like that.
