Didn't end up napping, spent time just vegging in front of the laptop.

Have started dinner, washed up the dishes from today and last evening and walked 1.3 miles on the treadmill.

Was investigating a Leslie Sansone workout for someone who was saying her fitbit only indicated .7 miles for the 2 mile workout. I tested it against the speed on my treadmill and figure you'd get enough steps for 1 mile, not two. And since she really doesn't take into account stride length, it could be off by even more. It is still a good workout and I was walking a lot faster with it than I normally do on the treadmill (3 mph for the warmup and 3.7 or 3.8 for the regular speed) so the 15 minutes I spent was well worth it from a step count point of view. If I was traveling as much as I used to, I might buy the workout to keep on my computer (so I don't have to have internet to view it.) But on the ship there's both a walking deck and a gym so I should be fine.

I'm drinking tea and resting after outdoor chores. I got the driveway shoveled, except for the 3rd parking spot, which is OK for now since dh's car is parked at the airport this week. I also shoveled the walkway and our front porch area, where a lot of the snow is blowing. While I was out, I also did hen care, including brushing the snow off their feeder so they could find their food and eventually helping Iggy get back inside the coop because she seemed to not want to take the steps with snow on them. They are now closed up for the night with a treat of leftover rice and veggies. I also brought in some logs for a fire tonight. Dh sent me extensive instructions on making a fire in our fireplace. He said (in his email) that if it is snowing outside, we should have a fire in our fireplace! That was kind of sweet of him.

Maia narrowly escaped being throttled by me. .. . My goodness, she was like a mad dog racing around in the snow with branches she's found/pulled off our bushes - which is another issue. She was constantly in my way and once or twice got hit accidentally by my shovel. At least she wasn't trying to attack my shovel, which has happened in the past. . .

The school district just called and school is cancelled tomorrow.

I think we've gotten about 7 - 8 inches now; it was measured at 6 inches at 4 pm, or so the weather website says. The wind is picking up now.

Next:
- update laundry
- make dinner for dd16 and myself: grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. S and R are not joining us.
- make a fire this evening
- work on Hebrew
- work on moms group teaching - 1 hour

Sang today with our bass and dd16, and it was the first Sunday we rearranged and placed the song leaders in the loft in front of the musicians. Previously, song leaders had been beside piano, closer to center of the church, and now to the side but higher. I never have any idea when I'll be needed and the great majority of the time I am not. Today I had worn a rather dressy black outfit with pearls and was glad. I did feel nervous, but we were heavy on the old hymns today and so I was a help.

Quickly after church, without lunch, I drove dd and two other girls to the Big City Museum for another in their teen roundtable series, this time with a celebrated conceptual artist whose huge work is on display there. The youngest girl was really just along to stay with her sister, and didn't have an invitation, so I kept her with me and we toured the museum.

I had intended to study my book for my Tuesday teaching, but with this young girl in tow, decided we should explore. Serendipity provided a work of art to enjoy that is based on part of the lesson I'll be teaching. So I took notes on it and will be so glad to have the experience as something different to tell the group.

I took the girls by Subway on the way home - a little pricey but they were tired and had really put it an effort, all of them.

Now dd is brainstorming the creation of a model (as in small scale) house in Modern architechture. She hasn't even started the physical house yet and is still sketching! I think it's due tomorrow! She has a bunch of foamboard, glue and a box-cutter... ...

It's been a quiet day here. I was home around 1:30 and then visited w house sitter gal and took her back to her dorm. Napped about an hour and surfed the Internet some. Ordered pizza for my supper and walked dogs and I'm now watching super bowl and reading.

Only rain here. Would love to see some snow. Dh met w a client this afternoon and will be home tomorrow.

Dinner is done. It was a nice roast chicken dinner. Leftovers will be tomorrow night.

I've vacuumed half the apartment and will get the other half done when I finish posting this. Then I'll start laundry.

Vacuuming got done. Dusting mostly is done. Floors are damp mopped.

Laundry isn't done because dh wanted to go to bed before it would be finished. So it will wait until the morning.

Glad you arrived home safely, Twins.

Dd is still starstruck from meeting the artist, whose works are huge and amazing, and is evidently a very personable fellow. She has really benefited from being her school's emissary to these events.

The Modern house looks pretty good, fitted onto a base about 1.5 feet square. I was worried about windows, but she was not supposed to include them. Just the bare bones of the structure. She designed a house that is approached through what I would call a lanai, or covered patio, but the roof is like an arbor. Then there is an entry that is like a covered walkway with an angled roof. So this makes for lots of angles and interest in the exterior areas, which she says is what the teacher assigned. The main house has overhangs beneath the second story. But you are left to imagine the interior, which, of course, doesn't exist!

I am so grateful for Monday tomorrow. This has just been an "anything can happen Sunday" and I'm weary. I sat and watched black and white tv comedies for a while and just vegged while dd wanted privacy to create.

Also studied my book a while and planned how I'll include the art piece in the lesson.

Rained here, I got 1 lol done, DH ran the DW, the Seahawks lost, but I crocheted a snake for DGS-6-soon, and I joined the back to the front on the pink tunic with shoulder ties, for DGD-2.

Got to thinking how crazy this week will be, but then got to thinking further, and it's not just this WEEK! It's the ENTIRE MONTH!

We left home at 4:15 and got home at 10. It was 16 degrees out and very windy. I'm sure the wind chill was below zero. Brrrr

Today I fixed the bar-b-que beef in a 6 qt. stockpot. Once it was warmed and the meat was more shredded, I then put it in a large crockpot. I had bought a 2 qt crockpot to use for the bean dip. It was taking forever to heat through and melt the cheese, so I ended up putting it a casserole dish and heating it in the microwave. Once it was ready I put it back in the crockpot. Then I had to wash those dishes. Once we got home, I had to put the leftovers in containers and wash the crockpot inserts.

I learned my lesson about taking finger foods to a party. People are too lazy to make a sandwich with a bun. Luckily there were people just putting the meat on their plate. So I will be on the lookout for new recipes for finger foods, for the next time. There was a big variety of meats, several dips and lots of different things rolled up in bacon. One girl brought a pan of brownies. I am thinking they were Ghiradelli and then after they were baked, she had sprinkled peanut butter chips on them. They were delicious. I had wondered about taking a dessert of some kind, also. Next time I will.

The party was nice but I am such an introvert and on top of that I don't drink. The host and hostess are so nice but they are both very heavy drinkers. Anytime I have been around them, they eventually drink too much and repeat the same things over and over. They have a double detached garage in the back that is heated and air conditioned. They have a bathroom just inside the back door to the house, so that makes it convenient. They have parties frequently for sporting events. They have a satellite dish that they take camping so that they don't miss whatever. Her and I share a college sport team that we are fans of, so when we went camping last fall, I was able to watch the college football game and later the Nascar race.

Yeah, Tuesday I get my permanent bridge placed. I have had to use F ixodent on the temporary twice, but it holds a lot better than their glue did.

I am thinking I should stay home and clean tomorrow. I am pretty much caught up on laundry, so it would make it a lot easier to clean. Also, since dh retired I have been able to keep things picked up and put away. A big help is when I buy groceries, I put them away immediately.

Well I guess I better get to bed.
