assemble the new raised bed, buy pebbles for drainage and garden soil to fill it.
 You had me going for a minute there, Twins. I was thinking you were assembling a new 'raised bed' for your bedroom. Wondered why the pebbles, then drainage (now I'm thinking water bed). I'll be okay.

Just finished folding the remainder of my laundry and putting it away. Then I proceeded to clean off the front porch and SWEPT it. Sweeping is very difficult for me but it looks oh so much better! DD can't help but notice when she comes home. I have really been moving it today. Not even lunch time yet and I've accomplished so much. Think this afternoon I'll putter a bit in the dining room and the hallway to the laundry room/garage. Dsonil had something hanging on every single chair. Guessed at what had to go in the dirty clothes. I have a few things out there that need to go to the donation pile. That pile is growing ever so large. Sure we'll be able to duplicate it again in the rest of this month and May.

You do have a lot going on, Twins! Fortunately, I don't have any sick pets at the moment ((Moe)) or family members that need visits or help going to the Dr. Though, I'm very negligent in making some appts. for dd16. .. . She even went to her last dental appt. by herself since I was out of town.

Yeah, I'd like a quiet weekend too. It's been a while for me with travels, Easter, more travels this coming weekend, hosting small group more than our share. I think the weekend of April 17 will be a quiet one here. I'm going to my parents on Friday, so this coming weekend won't be quiet. Dh leaves for Europe (work and visiting his father) on April 17. That actually will help make that a quiet weekend!! And I've hosted small group twice in 4 weeks, so it will be someone else's turn to host that weekend.

I am teaching at the moms group the end of April and the beginning of May, and I have no idea how I'm going to find the time to prep for those teachings when I'm also doing payroll work 25 - 30 hours/week. Prep for one teaching takes me about 5 - 10 hours. I'm not there yet so no need to fret yet. Though, it's already on my mind. Obviously.

I'm done tutoring R. I've had some lunch, worked up a menu plan for the week + a groc. list, set up a doodle poll, and emailed moms group leadership team re: last leadership meeting of the year. I want to get that on the calendar.

Next:
- finish prepping for class today
- progress on a.m routine
- change clothes; finish self-care; gather items
- otd by 1 pm
- payroll
- home around 4:15 pm
- jog?
- dinner: leftover tacos. We have so much leftover from small group!
- kitchen clean
- prep for 2 classes for tomorrow; need to prep one class for practice in-class presentations on Thursday.

I am absolutely amazing myself with how much I am getting done. DD will be truly in wonderment when she comes home. I never set out to get the house looking so good -it's just happening. Know tomorrow will be an on the go day so don't expect much. Feels so good to have a day, home alone, all to myself.

Great job, Dee. LOL at the water bed!
Yes, you all stay really busy.

After yesterday's early start, I never did take a nap or go to bed early. I lost myself in a book.....I should know better. I know what I was doing, I was hiding from all that's swirling around us. We have a big job almost in the 1st stage of completion, and another big job looming but 2 people who are desperate for us to come and do stuff. One job could wait but the people are antsy and got irritated at how long the bid took...and the other lady came home from rehab and now can't get into her bathroom...

Phone calls and requests from DH have me very stressed. I'm more of a plod along kinda person, do the first thing then move to the next, and this sort of chaos really gets to me.

Anyway, after yesterday's mixed up schedule, I slept in way too long until DH called about "where's the paperwork" Yikes why am I still in bed.... so I've been running around playing catch-up.

Most dailies done. Checks written and in time for mail lady. Recycle and garbage bin returned to their spots. DH's paperwork done and copied. Letter typed and sent off to an office and copied for files. Vitamin containers filled. Ice bowls for work coolers refilled and in freezer (I do this every morning).
Got DH out the door with said paperwork and checks and paint chart he forgot... so now he and I are both organized nicely and he has helpers staged on the job working away...

Whew!

My goodness... I think I have hit a new level of inactivity... I have just been lolling around in nothingness all day long.
Okay... NOW... I promise... BGS applied... (butt glue-solvent, for our new ladies)... headed to s2s.
Tomorrow is another day.

Good morning everyone! I had a hectic weekend, partially good, but I have offended a friend. You can skip the rest of this paragraph as a rant, but read on if you want to know about my newly found superpower. I got attacked by her rooster again. This was not the same rooster that attacked me (and everyone else) last time, but a different bird from hell. I did manage not to kick him to kingdom come, but even after yelling at him and trying to drive him off non-violently, he kept attacking and someone had to come out with a broom. He kept trying to attack me, not the broom wielder as they tried to shoo him off. There were about 6 witnesses who attested that I was not even looking in his direction when he attacked. Of course the hostess wanted us to eat on the patio, but I refused. She was offended by my dislike of her chickens and the fact that I would not eat with them. Before the attack the disgusting, vile, evil flock was not on the porch. After that they were coming right up. No thanks! I ate inside. None of this is ever the fault of the birds from hell, it is mine. It is also my fault the previous rooster died. According to the hostess, words have power, and when I said I wished he would die, he did. Never mind that it was a year later, the horrible creature died of old age, and I was nowhere around. As soon as I learned this, I wished (in front of the same witnesses) that my car would quit making funny noises, and that my bank account would immediately show a large increase. Of course, none of that happened. Apparently I only have the power to ill-wish barnyard animals. If my wishes and words were that powerful, she wouldn't have any birds of any kind, not chickens, not parrots, not those annoying messy things hanging over the sofa. Y'all can be my witnesses: I have ill-wished her chickens. I have wished out loud with my oh-so-powerful words and right here in writing that a meteor strike her chicken coop and leave no survivors. If I am that powerful, I want to know. (I would have damned them to hell, but that would be giving them a free ride home, and I don't want to do them any favors).

Other than that incident, this same friend spent much of the party Saturday night complaining about DD13's stepbrother. She told me how she and a mutual friend had always thought he was mean and evil and how they had to watch him around the other kids. (There is supporting evidence of what she said The mom across the street will not allow her children to walk to school with him. I know of other parents who at best think he needs discipline and at worst wonder about neurological issues involving a lack of conscience.) THEN, she hands me an Easter basket and asks that I give it to him when I take DD back to the x! I told her no and she was offended at this. She is having the x, the other woman, DD, and this kid over NEXT WEEKEND for dinner so it's not like it's the only chance! She claims that she does not like them, does not want to see them, and does not approve of what they did, and yet invites them to parties, makes sure they get their party favors when they can't make it, and has them over for dinner? Later on, she referred to the other woman as 'nice'. She was talking only to me and no one else, surely she couldn't expect me to agree? I pretty much exploded. I told her she knew what kind of people they were and when they betrayed her, not to complain to me because I would laugh until I puked! I pretty much had a hair trigger temper this weekend. I can't even blame alcohol, I didn't have more than 3 swallows of wine. I suppose I could apologize, but for what? Hating animals that attack me? Not enjoying the company of adulterers? Not appreciating her efforts to force me to mend fences with the adulterers? (The latter is ongoing. She keeps telling me that "They were so in love they couldn't help themselves" forgetting that the other woman's x and I loved our spouses. Why is their love affair some great Romeo and Juliet thing where external forces, like wedding vows, were keeping them apart, and the love of the other x and me just chopped liver?)

You can tell I am really distracted and having trouble working today.

Aw, (Elizabeth). Is this person completely clueless? That's how she sounds to me. Like she's got some agenda in all this and is using you to fulfill her agenda. Is she related to the other woman? I'm not sure if I had the same thing going on, would I continue to see her as a friend? She certainly isn't sensitive to you the way she appears to be to them. Well, I wish you luck in sorting it all out.

It's hard to get "unstuck" once you're all upset over something. Ask me how I know.

Off to finish dailies and do some decluttering.

((Elizabeth)) Probably the rooster is the villain here and the hens don't have a clue. If your friend had an all-female flock, or a flock with a calm rooster, you may never have noticed any of them, staying out of your way. What breed are they? (Same as previous rooster?) Some breeds have roosters so territorial they are dangerous to allow to roam. Come to think of it, however, why would anyone be invited to eat a meal near chickens? That is a new one on me, especially considering that chickens (as is appropriate to all fowl, of course) poop as they walk along. Not trying to be icky, here, but ... ... well... ... they do, and possibly should not be invited to human folk's luncheon areas. :) Yes, I have seen a rooster pick out a target and continue attacking only that target even when another person is being much more aggressive (such as with a broom).

Wow, Dee, that is a LOT to go wrong on one Sunday morning!

Oh, Molly's Nana! That is scary. Hope you continue improving, along with children. Actually, I already noticed you changed the word "list" in a previous post, and you made me smile at that. (Or be embarrassed a little  ) Gratefully, other peoples' lists don't seem to make me allergic, although I will admit wincing a little at long ones, probably just out of great sympathy for them! Posts that include i-r-o-n-i-n-g are so poignant and sad to me.. ... ;) (giggle - that's only funny if lucylee comes in and reads it)

I must stop now although I had other things to say.... nurse has called and script is at drug store. Dd16 is frantic to get me out there and get started on that. So I will be obedient and go take my medicine.

Harmony: I believe that the hostess friend is genuinely clueless, based on knowing her since 1986. She has always had an understanding of love and marriage appropriate to an immature teenage girl. I think of her as about 17 when it comes to these matters. She is not related to the other woman. She does have an agenda, but I cannot call it evil or even mean spirited. She wants everything back the way it was. She wants me to find another, better man and live happily ever after. Then, she thinks we all can become friends again. I'm not interested in marrying again, though I have not sworn not to. She does not seem to realize that if I did find another, I would definitely not want him introduced to the other woman. What if she decides she wants him too? I can't rely on her to be faithful to my x, I just hope it lasts until the kids are out of the house.

Harriet: I don't know the breeds of the various fowl in my friend's yard. I know there is a mix of lots of different breeds. I don't know much about any kind of bird, but I have learned that having two roosters, as she does, is not ideal. One of her hens has attacked me as well. She blames me, saying that the birds sense I don't like them and attack. She does keep the patio tables and chairs covered and hoses off the patio before use, but there was definitely some disgusting stuff underneath the tables. I know the proper procedure for animals that attack: 1. isolation from all but people who are responsible for the animal until the problem is dealt with 2. vet trip to see if it is physical 3. behaviorist if appropriate 4. if problem continues, euthanasia.
