I think that's the right bottom line, RunKitty. (unintentional pun about bottom) As long as any challenge inspires, it's good. You're right to stay aware of knees. Smart.

Kathryn, you are very gracious. I'm a little down about realizing now the date that must have been, and that I was more capable then. I know that I only lost balance teaching dsonil because of my brain. I did not keep my brain engaged with the difficulty of the challenge while also trying to teach/talk. Brain is also the reason :roll: that now I would have to relearn the hand placement (which I was determined to remember!) that finally let me rise with only one point off. But today, even without those excuses, I would need every trick at my disposal, momentum and maybe cheating (smile), to do as well - I can see that I'm not as fit.

Thanks because now this is brought back to my attention and I can work on it and see if I can get back to where I was (and be a source of giggles in H and F). It is a process.

Dd can do it but she is too young to have any credibility. Ramblin' would have "cred", but these svelte model-types, you know, how can we take them seriously. :lol: ;) Ducking and running!

RunKitty, I saw your post in the Pet Show thread about photos and it would be great to have you show us some - no problem. Kathryn had responded to Molly's Nana Monday in PWYC about 9:15 my time, and given her some info regarding where photos can be posted. Let me (and other mods) "sleep on it" and give some bits of explanation of the "how" of it tomorrow. The main thing is using the "attachments" button that appears below a post when you are typing it. And also making sure the photo that you will attach has already been sized smaller, to 300 x 300 pixels or less. On my rather average computer screen, for instance, this appears as about 3 inches by 3 inches or less.

Well, I am too tired to read and understand all that stuff about getting up off the floor or to click on the links. If I feel better tomorrow I will look everything over again because it is something I have been concerned about for a long while now. I feel old and doddery getting up and down...

So, I'd come across something a few months ago about getting back mobility and ability to take care of oneself. I don't remember where I saw it, but the article explained about people getting up and down and rolling over and getting oneself out of bed. Obviously, as one ages, especially with health problems, we lose the ability to do those things.

I was doing one of the things they suggested: getting up out of a chair without using the arms to push myself up to standing position. Every time I would get up, I would do it three or four times in a row, up/down/ up down / and my legs were beginning to get stronger and I was able to get up easier without "hauling myself out of the chair. I could tell it really was helping. I don't know if it helped get up off the ground or not. I definitely need to work on this. The elliptical works my leg muscles, I can feel that.

Did another 2 hours of errands with DH moving vehicles, going to a couple jobsites...I am just really tired after days of this. But they are done with that place for a while so things should be easier for a couple weeks (I'm hoping).

My pillow is calling!

Ci:
Still a failure on the zone work...
But --
-- I dusted the den, 20 minutes
-- made phone calls to
* dmom
* daunt
* dbuglady ;)
AND NONE OF THEM ANSWERED AND NONE OF THEM RETURNED MY CALLS!!! Grrrr...
-- got health form from doctor's office, and get this: apparently they faxed it TWICE without filling in the info!!! GRRRR AGAIN... She gave ME the blank copy and I had to go back in and have them fill in the info and get the doctor's signature! This is really causing me to question this staff, although I really like the doctor. Sigh.
-- reconciled checkbook statement
-- talked to ds on phone
-- walked away the pounds 15 minutes

That sitting/standing challenge... You're not supposed to get on your knees, right?
Tomorrow is another day.

I can lower myself without much difficulty, but I think it is impossible for me to stand without using one hand or one knee.
Tomorrow is another day.
