I thought Mr. Lilac's surgery was today, but I could very well be mistaken. I'm not exactly the best at keeping track of you all.
Done:
- helped dh clean and move the chicken coop, just before the rain started. Now, I can call the tree company to come spray our crab apple. The coop was right beneath it.
- QT
- dw unloaded
The rain is more like a drizzle.
Not much done. Need to get into a higher gear. .
Next:
- email friends re: Wed. evening dinner
- s2s and self-care
- start a tiny load of whites
- quick run to groc. store for items I forgot yesterday; I left my list at home.

((Lilac and dh)) We are all here for you!
Made a reservation for a Knoxville restaurant for Thursday evening - it has a fairly limited menu - could be a problem but good reviews. French with southern style. I hope dd is pleased - the dinner on Sat night was amazing and probably couldn't be topped but that's one difference between Knoxville and Atlanta.
Need to get busy on info for this meeting. I really meant to have it more together.

Re: Taco Tues./ Do the chicken dance!
Good morning everyone! I survived my interim review. My boss, who is leaving at the end of this week, is recommending they keep me.
Last night, I finally caught up on my emails, about 150 of them. The animal org has been having a lot of back and forthing. However, since I get those both home and work, they did not result in too much work - only had to reply to two. I did not do much webwork, but did post the fact that the church picnic had been postponed. Don't want people showing up next weekend, it is about an hour drive!
I did decide to stay late yesterday, I wanted to FINISH the task I was working on. On the way home, I ran my library errand, but did not have time to drop off the old printer or the old glasses. This morning, I scheduled my ToDos. I realized with my brother passing through Thursday night, and the pet sitter coming on Saturday, I really need a crisis clean! I also want to reschedule my summer vacation with DD13. I chose the one week that my friends in Denver will be at Yellowstone!
My old car is dying. Yesterday, on the way home, it stumbled twice. I checked the transmission fluid, not the problem. I just need it to last a few more days! It is a bad time for transportation for me: the old car is dying, my new car is in the shop, and the train even stalled this morning! They did get the train moving again.
TwinsMom: I am so sorry about Moses. I know he had a good life with you.

Re: Taco Tues./ Do the chicken dance!
Hello Dear Ladies,
We got sunshine!
Thank you for all the birthday wishes, had a wonderful day. DH took me out on my lunch break for a steak dinner. Co-workers gave me hugs and birthday greetings and one co-worker gave me a small cake. Family had cake for me when I got home and gave me an Ipad!!! Passed my Android tablet down to Dson 19. I'm happy cause I got all my music and books over on my Ipad and I can still get Google Play books on the Ipad yet. Watched a show on Netflix on the Ipad yesterday while I folded laundry.
My Birthday is always bittersweet for me, my DDad died on my 30ths birthday and Dmom would always remember the whole situation of his sudden death each year. And then Dmom had several close calls on my birthday, and then on my 55th birthday, I signed all the hospice papers for her. She died 19 days later but I tend to group both of their deaths together on my birthday. This year I had a bout of grief hit me as my birthday got closer. Read some coping articles about re-occuring grief and one article had several things to do like cook your loved ones favorite dish and eat it. So I made French Toast which was Dmom's favorite and had it for breakfast, it did seem to help.
Also some crazy things were happening on my birthday at work and I could have gotten upset but said to myself, nobody I love is dying today or on their death bed so this stuff is nothing, I can handle this.
Have added sitting in the sunshine for 20 minutes each day so have done that for two days now.
Dishes are washing, Dbrother's laundry needs to be put in the dryer.

Re: Taco Tues./ Do the chicken dance!
Also coming back through. Have been to jobsite twice and unloaded stuff up there and helped DH take some heavy lumber inside. It's the first time I've been in the house. This is an older 2-story house, not an open floor plan, and the rooms are pretty small. However.... every space is cleared out, furniture not fancy but fits where it is... and NO CLUTTER of any type shape or style. It looks as if it was an empty house that somebody came in and put down the furniture and left.
Everything neat as a pin and clean and orderly. Even the kitchen. Oh, my. How I would like to live there. It didn't look stark and cold either, but very homey and inviting. My goodness.
(Lilac) I'm there with you in spirit.

Uh, Like you've had absolutely NOTHING on your plate!!Need to get busy on info for this meeting. I really meant to have it more together.
I'm happy with what I'm getting accomplished. Just puttering along, one thing at a time. Keep seeing things I need to do -generally 1 item things- and am adding them to PODA for one day or another in the next 3 weeks. Of course one thing leads to another. We SHEs know what that's all about!
Wanted to tell you, Harriet, that I think the B12 is really helping me. I have so much more energy. I'm also trying to get in at least 6,000 steps (and even liking 7,000 better) but am finding myself more satisfied with these numbers and not setting my goal to that 10,000, which I know is optimum. But 6,000 is better than a thousand or two any day!
Dh told me this morning that he's now walking without the crutches but I think he said he's using a cane. He also gets to take off the ace bandage and can take a shower today. Think he said it's been 10 days since he was able to shower (both because of the surgery and not having hot water to do it). He was doing laundry when I called him back a second time to give him some info on dg16.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Re: Taco Tues./ Do the chicken dance!
Back from lunch.
Dd came by car (they had rented a car for last weekend and ended up having to pay a weekly rate so kept it for the week.) She called before she left and I got the kitchen floor washed and the toilets cleaned while waiting for her.
My pain level was low on the walk to lunch and almost all the way home but my right knee started acting up on the last few blocks. Still, I now have 6K steps in and it is just 2. That was my total for yesterday.
Lunch was high calorie and we are having a nice dinner so my calorie count will be too high again today. Sigh....
Spent the morning trying to get a motel room for the conference in Newfoundland. Don't know if we are going or not but need a place to stay if we are so have something we can cancel. We are in Newfoundland for 2 weeks but 11 days are at the conference site if we've been accepted as volunteers. The website says the deadline to apply to volunteer is over and those picked will be notified directly. It does not say by what date. SO I emailed this morning asking to know when I should have heard by because I have to make plans for accommodation.
I also registered for our regional conference in Montreal this morning. Have to pay in full but am not told if I have a place to stay at the college it is held at, or not. Seriously. That's in 3 weeks. No info on parking, no info on anything. I forgot to say I needed access to a fridge (it was a question but said for dietary or medical reasons and checked No.) I will because I need a place for my ice packs. I really don't want to go but feel I should (in theory it is a requirement as a Presbyter but I've skipped it every year until this year.)
If I don't get a place to stay at the college, I think I'll skip the conference. I really, really, don't want go (I already said that but can't stress it enough.)

Re: Taco Tues./ Do the chicken dance!
Hi again. The database has crashed (not due to me) and the person who can fix it is not here. <SIGH> I really wanted to get the subreports done today. The fixer should get here ... just before I have to leave. I am installing SQL Developer right now. Tonight is Girls' Night Out, which has become Girls' Night In now that I will be making car payments. We will still have Chinese on Sunday, but won't be going out on Tuesday and/or Thursday as well.
Here is what I need to get done tonight:
Must, must, MUST do some crisis cleaning as well!
Here is what I need to get done tonight:
- With DD13
- Dinner
- Get DD to decide on her vote for the youth group activity
- Determine food she wants to have on campout
- If time, get the food
- Make list of all the things we need to take (started)
- After DD leaves
- Email youth group director
- Email Bible study leader
- Email friend to get directions to campsite
- DPC
- Webwork
- May calendar
- Newsletter
- Wednesday night out menu
- Home page events
Must, must, MUST do some crisis cleaning as well!
