It's just too late to do my hair so I will have to go to church tomorrow looking the best I can without much attention. Dstepson's family just left. HRH often does this - he put on a fascinating movie (Aviator), and we got caught up in it and only later realized it is a 3-hour movie. In the middle he had to take a look at the earlier film Hell's Angels for a bit, to make sure we all knew what the movie was talking about.

I did get the linens washed today and master bed remade.

and I vacuumed before they came, so that's something.

Back from the party. I'm finding cocktail parties hard to take because I can't take the standing. But we were there about 2 hours. I'm exhausted.

Did fairly well with the eating at the party - stuck with healthy stuff except for a few chips. Shared a flavoured San Pelligrino with dh (so half the calories) and then cut it further with Perrier. Just had some chicken as my protein before bed. Hope to sleep better as a result - the milk and nuts have been working well for me but are less protein and more carbs. Although I may find it is the carbs & protein that I need. We'll see.

See you in the morning. Haven't decided if I'm going to church in the city or not. Definitely not going out to the village.

Sunny here all day, and hot, but breezy so it has been bearable. Of course, it's mostly bearable bc I've been in air-conditioned comfort all day, LOL!

Nice time with dgs and family celebrating his bday a week early -- which dmom declares she forgot I told her about -- smh -- but she still made it for cake... And except for one slight blunder on my part (j&c) I pretty much kept my foot out of my mouth.

Dmom continues to worry me re: her hopes to go to bluegrass festival with us next Saturday, which will be a long long hot uncomfortable day for her... But I seriously doubt this will come to pass... And she still recites her need to see this doctor and that doctor at every opportunity... But... I just keep trying to take it day by day.

So much I want to respond to, but can't look back on phone very well and dh has the computer. Hope everyone gets plenty of sleep at Harriet's house tonight -- including those chickens who were being terrorized by that scary snake!
Tomorrow is another day.
