The library wasn't allowing groups to gather around the fireplace due to Covid lockdowns and restrictions. Now that the mask mandate has been lifted in most places, this library is once again allowing our knitting group back in, BUT no tea or coffee or cookies served. Seating is in a cramped space and the group is large. Our entire Women's Institute goes to this knitting group plus a bunch of other women have joined the group.

The Thursday Craft Guild isn't allowing us to have our coffee and cookie service either. Germs on all of the coffee cups, I guess.

The other library in the town to the west of us has been allowing the knitting group in, but it's a much smaller group in a much larger space. Individual chairs there.

We have crocuses up but our forsythia bush hasn't "bloomed" yet. Robins showed up a couple of weeks ago.

LadyM -- thanks for your comment re: my new goals/rules! I like what you are saying. I may break down and go ahead and buy that book (I'm on the wait list for the e-book at the library.)
I think as I wrote out my "rules," my brain automatically saw the idea that the phone and the paper are "rewards," but it might help to word it that way.

It has only been one day, but I can say Rules #1 & #2 were met with amazing success! :D I wanted sooo badly to curl back up in the covers because I was sleeping sooo good when the alarm went off... but... despite being interrupted by dh (to help him look for a dropped pill he had lost in the kitchen  ) during my weigh-in (and in quite the state of undress!) I managed to get ALL the morning stuff done, plus took my B-12 and Probioslim pill. (I've been leaving off ALL my supplements, but I think I should get back on them.) I also did my Bible reading (which is not a "rule" because I do not have any trouble remembering to do it, especially if I am doing the rest of my morning routine promptly.

The task of the day was s/s the bathrooms. I did all three. Plus started the laundry.
I am trying to split up the WHB to keep myself from getting overwhelmed with one day for everything. Doing laundry leaves a lot of wait-time that gives me plenty of time for the bathrooms.

I had an advantage today, however. We did not leave the house until almost 2:00 pm. Usually we go out to get the mail & newspaper around noon. Today, dh had a chiropractor appt at 2:15, and the local paper doesn't print on Mondays, so dh doesn't mind delaying that trip to the post office.

However -- after we got back from the chiropractor, I was kinda tired (and I had just sat in the car and read while dh was in there.)
So, dh said for me to pick supper, and after some debate with myself, I'm going out to get him pot pies from KFC and I'm getting a stuffed pork potato from bar-b-que restaurant. This means I've painted myself into a corner, so to speak, that I will be forced to cook tomorrow and Wednesday, (or I'll have food that goes bad) but I told him, "I'm just not feeling it tonight." Mondays are always my * whew * I need some rest * days, after having the dgrands underfoot all weekend.

I have one load of laundry hanging to dry, one in the washer, with a few items in the dryer, and a couple more black items to wash alone when this washer load is completed.

In addition to the laundry and bathrooms, I have
* checked on our IRS check, which was picked up by an individual at the post office in Charlotte, NC this morning...
* confirmed hair cut appts via text msg
* tried to call my daunt who had carpal tunnel surgery last week (she wasn't home)
* contacted a business via email re: possible returns
* helped dh with some computer stuff
* talked to ds on the phone

But see, when I do all this being productive stuff... I don't get to the computer till y'all are all done and taking a rest! :D
Tomorrow is another day.

CUOP...

Cathy was looking for blooms on the forsythia... y'all... I'm afraid dh might be right! We may have actually killed all these holly bushes! There are no new blooms on any of them yet. :? I need to look more closely around town and see if other hard-pruned bushes are blooming.
Glad you got to go back to your knitting group, Cathy!

Good for you on being "patient and consistent," LadyM! I'm still struggling with those concepts.
And I hope all goes well with your new plan with DC re: cleaning routine, Mystery.

WTG, Nancy, on getting some work done on the fence. Also community prayer time.

You, too, Twins -- you've got a LOT done today!

Rose, I am very impressed with the progress you are making even while being so bothered with the shingles. Hang in there!

Grazing and snacking... yes... story of my life, Dee. No worries about me trying KETO. I wouldn't last half a day.

Well... I guess I better go and get us something to eat. Thanks for being here to encourage me!
Tomorrow is another day.

Fence project is done except for picking up the last few pieces the can got full. 30 mph. winds now so I will have to hope they stay put and do not blow away. The last sections were behind the camper and their garage so it was protected. The dog was outside with me. I was glad she did okay in the wind.

Community prayer time was interesting I prayed outside one other person inside, and 1 other left bc doors were locked.

I had a meat pie for lunch I stocked up on them this is a great week for them!
Dinner no clue.

I don't feel like I got a lot done today. Once I got upstairs I did a lot of lollygagging and dilly dallying. I'm figuring that I have plenty of time to work once I get dh on the road on Wednesday so I'm not sweating it. I might as well get that out of my system now.

Dfriend M and visited across the street and that neighbor will not have to have surgery on her shoulder! Just needs to keep the sling on and start PT eventually and the shoulder will heal. And I guess the reference to the knee surgery was the previously scheduled knee surgery that was cancelled in Jan and rescheduled. Anyway, I'm taking over a frozen lasagne in the morning for tomorrow night for them. R's dh isn't much of a cook, apparently.

M and I walked a lap.

I'm also getting a hair cut on Wednesday a.m.

RAIN! We are experiencing glorious street-flooding gully-washing RAIN!! Surely this will help in getting us out of drought status.

Since it is raining with no chance of me getting steps outside, I went to our local $ store and walked the aisles. I saw one of the ladies I am in a fitbit challenge with and told her what I was doing. We laughed about it and then she stopped laughing and said "Wait a minute! Have you passed me in steps now?" as she was looking at the FB scorecard. We all know that I am usually the lowest step of the group so for me to be #3 in highest steps is unusual. It is 5 day challenge so my status will soon slide back downward, but for a brief moment of time I am not last.

I accepted an invitation to a month-long reading group. We are reading one chapter a weekday during the month of April and posting our thoughts for each chapter. The book is "I'll start again Monday". I probably shouldn't have committed to another book because I haven't finished the book studies that I'm currently doing. But I like the people in the group and wanted to be part of the camaraderie. I hope this won't overload my current studies and it will be a benefit.

I met dd23 for a flower day at the local, inspiring nursery. We had fun in really beautiful surroundings, but got a cart too early so that we had to lug that all around the place. Live and learn. Some plants I wanted were high-priced to me, but I bought 6 anyway. Some were strangely low-priced, less than half of what I'd been told by these employees themselves. So I bought 8 of those. One color - perhaps my favorite - was missing so I'll try another place. Dd found two darling little succulents and got pots for them.

I actually wanted to go back through and look for a few more things but the cart was so unwieldy and the weather had turned uncomfortably hot, of all things. The people were out watering by that time and the cart didn't want to hop over the hoses without dumping plants. So I took that as a reason to call it a day.

Back home, we set the plants in their pots in the bed with the most protection. It's supposed to be 48 tonight so I don't see any reason to worry. There's an overhang anyway. The lowest we're supposed to get in the next week or so is 38. I'll worry about that when we get there.

Called a friend from church and had a good chat.

Talked to my daunt for over an hour. (I had called her earlier, but she had to return my call because she wasn't at home.)
Other daunt IS right; she does repeat herself a lot, and she has trouble remembering names/family connections (going back generations, I mean) BUT... I don't think she's in that much worse shape than most other 78-year-olds I know. I mean -- I have trouble coming up with names sometimes!
She is doing well, one month past carpal tunnel surgery -- in fact, she had driven a friend to the doctor today b/c the friend has had knee surgery. In the meantime, she also killed two red wasps in the friend's house and got stung on the hand that had been operated on! She said it was swollen pretty bad, but she was taking Benadryl for it.

I've been lost in the internet ever since supper... looking up some stuff on Ancestry, etc...

Talked to ds & ddil -- we need to pick up dgs at school tomorrow; dgd has appt with ENT. Her pediatrician advises that she have her tonsils removed, to help with frequent ear infections and strep throat.

Also trying to decide what to do about an order I placed online. I got one of those scrunchy messy-bun hairpiece things. It is really pretty; I LOVE the quality and style -- but it was too dark. I ordered another, different shade, to compare. It was too light. I have contacted the company and they say I can return but I have to pay shipping and they will not refund until their warehouse confirms it has been received.
OR I can order something else on their website for free and keep the two hairpieces! What to do??? Tempted to try One. More. Shade.
I really love the way this looks in my hair. My hair, in any up-do I try on my own, makes a kinda short, bushy, and stubby ponytail. I cannot make the ends hang out like this hairpiece does. But my hair is a light auburn/caramel brown with a lot of gray in it now, and it apparently just does not match any of their shades! I have tried dark auburn AND caramel. Their basic auburn looks much too red.
If any of you are interested, this is on BootsnBagsHeaven. (I couldn't make the url work.) Search for messy curly hair bun scrunchie.

I also ordered dgs two polos from Wmart.

I better sign off this computer before I go broke.
Tomorrow is another day.
