Know up home that our possible frost is sometimes nearer to Memorial Day, Twins. But then the temps are somewhat milder because of the nearness of Lake Ontario. Know things like lilacs bloom sooner than they used to where we grew up in south/central New York. Seems like everything blossomed or leafed out sooner than down there. Dh probably waited until at least mid-May to plant some things. He sometimes gets in a rush and ends up planting a whole lot of flowers over again on our terraced berm.

My mother always said that her father planted his garden on Good Friday. According to the moon calendar it was always the right day.

Oy vey. I'm upstairs trying to start on getting scanned images into Evernote. Before I left the library I copied the contents of the USB drive into Dropbox for safety. And now for some reason they won't open in Dropbox - says "file unsupported or may be corrupted." Yet I can see images on my phone in Dropbox. I know there was an issue another time and I can't remember how I resolved it. I was going to insert the USB drive into the upstairs computer and work directly from there, but I use the only old style USB drive on this computer for my keyboard and mouse. So I ordered a USB hub for Saturday delivery if I have to use that as a workaround. OTOH, I just realized I can use the online version of Dropbox and see the images but then have to get them to Evernote. What a headache. I wish I remembered what the fix is.

Good afternoon (not quite evening)!

Last night, I turned the 9:00 show on upstairs and thought I’d go to bed early and get an early start on today. But when it was over, I still wasn’t quite ready to go to sleep yet, so I put on an episode of Hoarding: Buried Alive. Well, I shouldn’t have done that. For one thing, it kept me up past the point where I was tired enough that I should have just gone to sleep; for another, DH had come in and gone to sleep during the show (I envy how easily he can drop off to sleep!), but as soon as I turned it off (past ready to go to sleep), he woke up, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. I didn’t end up getting to sleep till midnight.

Then, this morning, my plans to get up early were thwarted. I figured I’d actually get up when DH did and not go back to sleep like I usually do. Except DH didn’t get up early — he wasn’t going in to school today until after the service at the potter’s field, which didn’t start till 10. And my alarm didn’t go off properly. Our local NPR station merged with the next nearest one, and now we get horrible reception. So I went out and got a clock with a smart speaker. Well, today, when the morning news was supposed to come on, we had silence. That did not wake me up (shocking, I know).

This is a long way of saying I didn’t have the most productive day. I got a little bit of housework done and a little bit of payroll, but I didn’t kick butt on either.

DH is headed down to church in a bit to help run the livestream for the Holy Thursday service. I am staying home. I really like the service except that a few years ago our pastor decided to mix things up a little and have everyone wash each other’s feet. I love the symbolism, but I can’t abide having someone wash my creepy feet. So I can stay home and tell DH how the livestream went when he gets home.

I’m torn about tomorrow. Our parish is having Good Friday services at 7 pm, and Stations of the Cross is the only thing happening between noon and 3. Under ordinary circumstances, given those choices, I’d go to Stations and forgo the evening service. But I feel guilty doing that tomorrow, because if I’m home in the evening, I’m going to watch the baseball home opener (we don’t have cable, so it’s one of the few games we can watch all year), and it’ll be like I’m choosing baseball over church. But DH has to run tomorrow’s livestream, too, so I’m thinking maybe I’ll record the game and go, and then DH and I can watch together when we get back.

I’ve probably rambled on too long (it’s hard to get a sense of how long a post is on the phone). And now, I’ve forgotten to hit submit! Good evening to all of you, and my heart goes out to RRose, who cannot be in two places at once.

Mystery, for our household, that show would be considered an interesting diversion for me, torture for HRH. Even with newer ones, I might be interested, but have almost given up on the type/genre because HRH hates anything regarding animals in them, either the idea that a pet is potentially unwell, or that a pest-animal's droppings or other evidence is on the screen.

Twins', that would be a great plant exchange. Gotta get that personal household transporter appliance invented.

The boys kept saying they brought me a flower from their trip and I finally got over there to take their mother the newly-transplanted aloe.

It was a lego rose! Pretty with a gracefully curved single-stem. Not much else graceful about it, lol, but quite a conversation piece.

I am torn because HRH's good friend S is coming over tomorrow morning. I should have the house nice, should drop all to chat along with. But it's the perfect moment to plant some things. Thinking.

Also, I must find some time to wrap a gift.

Twins, I'll answer for Sunny: the website is a Facebook group called Stitching a Round. Hers is quite interesting. She can tell more about what she's stitching, but she is very good and even being tiny I can tell what each thing is.

I was out the door insanely early (for me) so tonight I did the rest of my morning things. Kitchen all cleaned up, bed made, swish and swipe amongst other things. My mind is sorta spinning about all the things I must get done in the next couple days. Dye some eggs, go to other supermarket and get rolls and bread (they have the best) also ice cream as their's is better than where I shop. I'll be making baked macaroni to take with us Easter. We'll go to the middle service, probably the most crowded ((Shudder)) and leave right from there. Hoping for good weather and safe travels. It's supposed to be rainy here...hopefully not all the way up.

I've been posting just from my phone and that has to be the slowest process ever. Lovely to have a minute to sit at my desktop here.

Need to find a minute to answer an email.... email box is likely stuffed full. I'm keeping things going around here but haven't had time for everything.

Tonight DH set the sprinklers around, things are so dry. The expected rain will be lovely. Couple days ago I went around and fertilized the flowers here. Everything looks pretty good. I didn't do as well in the veggie garden. Thinking it might be nice to just turn that space into a flower bed instead!
