d twins - Phone calls take a lot of time! (it takes a lot of mental energy which equals physical energy). it seems like it is not a productive thing but it is! One was with d friend - how nice!!! - and 8 of those phones calls were things that needed to be done. it took time and it was productive. (I think we tell ourselves that only physical work is productive; it's not).

you are doing great!!!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Today hasn't been the most productive or focused so far. I got caught in another nap. Yes, I need them, but I also have so much stuff to get done that I'm getting irritated with myself for being so fatigued! Irrational, I know, but still......

I have managed to eat some lunch, take my meds, clean out the corner of the living room, and throw a bunch of dog stuff in the laundry. The cat stand has been cleared off. It's one of those multi-level ones, and I'm sure y'all are aware of what happens with flat (or almost flat) surfaces! I've also listed dMum's transport chair on Kijiji.

Not done from earlier....

- clean cat box
- swish/swipe bathroom

Next up:

- move art portfolios and CD stand downstairs
- clean off the loveseat (another large flat surface)
- sort out yarn storage in front closet
- find somewhere out of the way to store cat crate blankets for rescue (I make them, and hold on to them until I have about 20 to donate)

That should keep me going for a few minutes!

Ugh! Head lice! We dealt with that little issue twice with DD - once in grade 2, and again in grade 4. The first time, a product called N*x was recommended. I don't know how well it works, because it turned out that DD is quite allergic to it. After a fair bit of searching, dMum found a recipe in one of her herbal books - a base of olive oil, with a mixture of different essential oils. Wash the hair, apply this concoction, comb it through thoroughly, and wrap the head in plastic wrap (just the hair part!   ) for about two hours. Wash the hair again, and go through it very carefully to remove all the nits and lice. This seemed to completely solve the situation, and DD had the softest, shiniest, sweetest smelling hair of anyone in the school! In grade 4, we ran across a product called Z*ro L*ce - it uses tea tree oil and works like a charm!! Thank goodness, DD has not had to deal with this with any of the dgrandmonsters.

bw2 is quite right, Twins! Just because it perhaps isn't what you planned doesn't mean you're not getting things done!

Thanks for all the reassurance and advice on the head lice. Ugh. Just makes my head ITCH to THINK about it!!!

I have washed everything I could that dgd might have touched, and other things I have run through the dryer (I heard heat kills them).
DDIL treated her head very well (something she got at drug store, don't know what brand) and has combed twice and thinks they are all gone.
DDIL also has a spray for things that can't be washed -- couch, etc. So I'm going to use that tonight also.
DGD is coming over tonight to spend the night so... we shall see. I'm going to be a little less "huggy" I think.

Harriet, I looked up the zapper you recommended, but it says it must be used every day, and then if it finds/kills the lice/nits, you still have to comb them out separately. I don't think ddil will be up for that. She is apparently very trusting of the treatment, and is checking every day for additional nits. I will tell her about it though.

I have not focused on anything at all today. DH and I were wiped out from busy day yesterday.
Tomorrow is another day.

LOL bw2, the rest of the calls were spam. It’s unusual to get so many.

I’m downstairs with dh.

Nancy - BWTG on your success today!

We are home from the big city. DS14 birthday has been well celebrated. FACT: Teenage boys are noisy! Their voices are so loud and when they start laughing it gets even louder. I am feeling a bit shell shocked from spending hours in the SUV with them. DS14 thanked us twice for a great day so it feels worth the effort, time, and money spent.

DH is with his DMom. The pharmacy just delivered medication here for DMIL so I called to let them know. She doesn't need the meds right now so they can wait and be taken tomorrow.

DS14 and friends are riding dirt bikes and fishing.

I drove for hours today so I want to kick back and relax a bit. I'll work on today's assignment in the class I'm taking.

Hello. Quiet day here. I have an itchy rash that I've been trying to heal. So, I just took it easy today and it's feeling lots better.

I have so much to do and I wasted so much time today. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

I used that smelly stuff on DD's for the lice stuff and now I wonder just how bad that stuff is to put on a kid's head? And that comb with the tiny little teeth. Shudder...what an experience.

I wondered about chlorine, Nancy. Promised dgrands I’d take them swimming tomorrow! Now I am doubly glad I gave in to dgs’ pleas! ;)
