I think it's okay to move the swimming until tomorrow - they will understand that it will be hard to keep track of them with so many people.
I hope you have a great day d Lucy!!!

Re: Sultry summer Saturday!
It is a small school with about 300 kids divided among 14 grades (Pre-K, Kindergarten, and grades 1 through 12). DD11 is in 6th grade this year which is part of elementary/grade school.is it a small school or is it like us where there is grammar school (kindergarten to 5th grade), Middle school 6th to 8th grade then high school?
In church they divide the kids differently. Newborn to 2 year old is nursery, 3 years old to 5th grade is Children Church. 6th - 12th grade is youth. The parent orientation this evening is for DD11 to move from children to youth in church.
The apple canning class was fun. There were about a dozen of us that worked together to wash, remove skin, core, cut, boil and can over 50 quarts of sliced apples and 18 quarts of apple cider vinegar. I used to can every summer but switched to freezing when life became so full. I wanted DD11 to experience the canning process and this was an uncomplicated way to make that happen.
DH got an excellent report at the family doctor appt. DH isn't big on remembering details but said his A1C was 5 something and the family doctor is happy and didn't want to make any changes.
This morning DS14 traded for tires to replace the ones on his pickup. DH has been doing oversight on that, so I don't know all the details. I just know they had to make a quick trip to get new lug nuts. DH and DS14 just left to get DMIL from hair appt, take her out to eat and then home.
I prepared a BGS for my lunch today and couldn't help comparing it to the salad I had yesterday at a nice restaurant. Yesterday I paid $19 for a salad with salmon. Their salad was excellent but was half the size of the typical salad I prepare myself at home and their salmon was smaller than the salmon fillet that I prepare at home. Hum....maybe I should reduce my salad size ......but...but...but I love having a big green salad almost everyday. If I am going to eat too generous portions, it seems green vegetables. are a viable choice.

Re: Sultry summer Saturday!
Can anybody ever have too much salad?
It is almost 90 here. Not as hot as sometimes but boy it feels muggy out there.
DH went to a youth group picnic at a municipal park. This is on the river and 2 people brought boats and they took turns taking the kids out tubing. DH said since he was taking the car and we needed some things he'd stop at the store for me. Boy he looked bushed when he got home. But in the meantime my new neighbor lady came over. I've never met her, nice gal quite a bit younger than us. She wanted to borrow a lawnmower since their's died. Her husband usually pushes one around. They have a double lot like ours. I told them I'd send DH over when he came in.
Felt like it was safer for us to cut than try to teach one of them this tractor. So DH cut it all. Some of her kids went out and they moved the trampoline so he could cut under there and then moved it back. He looked pretty worn out by then. He and I went along the fence (ours) and pulled out all the vines that were growing up. We had put mulch on both sides of our fence and they let these ugly vines take hold on their side. I think I'll just go over and pull out the vines now and then. Safer than having them use a weed eater along the vinyl.
I've been trying to get a sample ballot for our primary election this month and so far not sure the one I got is what I need to study. I'll have to call someone Monday. They changed a Senate district or something and I don't understand what they're saying about it. Have to figure this out so we can go do early voting. I have a couple weeks to figure it out.
