LadyM, the lot fee is actually for 6 months. Just now found out what DS-R's raise will be: $800 . Hardly seems fair but it is what it is. Somewhat fearful that it may be the game changer for them. I knew all DDIL said last night that it was more than they expected. I have no doubt that there will be some who leave because of the hike. He was already paying the most of anyone here. But leave it to DS he figures if an 'average' lot is 3600 square feet and some are more than that, they should only be 'taxed' on what is over the larger amount of a standard lot.
Oh, boy, this sat for a while. Meantime a couple people stopped to 'complain'. Actually her rent has gone up $900. I'm sure DS was figuring a figure around $400 - $500. Not the case so it'll be interesting to see what they're thinking now. But I still don't think it's worse than any other campground around. And this is the ONLY PRIVATE campground anywhere near here and definitely the only one in this county. Lucylee, can you hear me? I sure hate to start hearing all the conversations around this topic. I foresee some restless nights again. But then I try to remember the one in charge.
The trip to/from the city was a success.
** DH blood work accomplished.
** Medical appt = Treat so DH choose to eat breakfast out. DH likes western style omelets and there is a place that excels at preparing them just like he prefers.
** Filled up SUV ($3.07 gallon). Gas prices are steadily dropping about 10 cents a week.
** Visited with longtime friend and he was successful locating a couple OEM wheels for DS14 2006 pickup. We got those ordered (will arrive Wed). Our birthday gift to DS14 will be 2 wheels and tires for his pickup. His current 22" tires are almost bald, so he has to get them replaced. DSi4 made the decision to change from 22" to 18" wheels before replacing the tires. He traded for 2 wheels/tires but still needed 2 more to match. I am not in any way a wheel/tire informed person, so this is TMI and exceeds my knowledge for sure!
I'm taking a break and drinking a glass of tea before getting started on the rest of my day.

I neglected to tell (this seems to be a phrase I use a lot these days) that while HRH was not sleeping (sigh) he was working around the house. Sometimes this results in a big surprise when I awaken, sometimes finding that he's moved furniture! But last night he just did household chores and that was a big help. So credit is due. The only thing I found to question was a pan I had left to soak. He had it finished and draining, but, bless his heart, it wasn't really clean. I won't say anything. It's not just that his eyesight isn't good - he just doesn't have that sense of suspicion you get from knowing dishes will fool you.

Yes, I did get to put in a good hour of decluttering in our bedroom, of things waiting since the move, embarrassingly enough. About 2x2x4 sq feet of space cleared and the items I'll save put away. 3 small grocery bags-worth thrown out. It took extra time because one of the items was an old purse. (meaning portable filing cabinet, you know). Most valuable find : a nice denim shirt of HRH's, which is a complete mystery as to why it was "lost" there.
Morning Daily Card done, too. Plus, a healthy brunch.
Next up some cooking for later. Also, we need to go out to pharmacy 1.

Me too! I find it harder than it should be. Hopefully, the more I do it, the better I will become.
I have DS14 closet completely prepped to paint except for removing one screw. SOMEONE (99% sure it was DS14) has "borrowed" all the Phillip screwdrivers from my toolbox. The simplest of things seem to stop me in my tracks. I have requested DH bring in a phillip screwdriver from the shop. Waiting.....
I have rescheduled DD11 counselor appt.

I had a new bottle of maple syrup - I thought it was a plastic bottle (it was glass) - as I put away groceries in our small temporary refrigerator - the bottle fell off and broke all over the place.
((blessed)) with one of the most frustrating types of clean-up. Sticky and glass in the same mishap. (((hugs)))
The first day of school was a very difficult one - technological issues. The school system is with Ver izon, which had outage situations today. The school system thought it had been fixed and then didn't realize it went down again an hour later. And also 3 of the boys had further tech issues with particular classes, so dd42 is frazzled. She did a work-around for the 2 oldest boys herself and they've had contact now with all teachers and have their assignments. She says she's been up and down the stairs to their rooms/computers more today than all summer.
Each boy got lunch. She didn't. All having frozen meals for supper tonight.
today I heard this on ted talk -
and it made me think of dh and how he feels about his stuff and the question we both need to ask ourselves.
Is your self worth and happiness (who you were during your life) dependent on passing it down to your children? this is dh - it's more about the cancer he faced years ago and the fear of getting sick again. if he has his stuff then he will be okay. he wants the girls to have all his stuff. one of our girls has difficultly letting go instead of appreciating a couple things.
Do you feel you will be forgotten if your special things don't go to your children or grandchildren?
Is it okay to enjoy and love your things but allow your own children to not have to keep your things?
Is it their memories or just yours?
How will giving things your children and grandchildren don't want will affect them? Can you let go and let them have their own life and memories?
I thought it was interesting.

Ours with a 10-cent off per gallon card is $4.55. Just looked.
