Team cleaning is done. I am always surprised by how much that can be accomplished with an hour of focused effort.

I realized I forgot to order a case for DS14 phone so I found a couple possible cases and texted links to DS14. He picked the case he wanted, and I ordered it.

I need to order DMIL a cell phone. I am thinking about going with a prepaid Tracfone for her. Does anyone have any recommendation or experience with this type of phone? I am doubtful if DMIL will use a phone, but she has decided she wants one. I want to keep it as simple as possible because she struggles to learn & remember how to operate new things. She got a new coffee pot and can't remember where to put coffee & water in it.

LadyM, DH had a similar phone with Consumer Cellular. Flip like that. 3 times that similar hinge broke in the same spot, a little triangular shaped piece of plastic broke away. All the flip phones seem to come with that same hinge now. We couldn't find any different hinge configurations with any of the flips. Not to say this phone you found will be problematic, it is a different model. I note that it doesn't have any of the 'smart' buttons that a lot of so-called plain phones have now. Plain phones are not so plain any more. This one looks very easy to learn.

So... I didn't sleep much last night because I had it in my mind that I had to get up early. I never sleep well when I have an early morning coming. I need a nap.

Went with DH to the lab. Helped him find his insurance cards and gave him the paper to turn in. I had post it notes all over the kitchen so he wouldn't take his meds first, or drink his coffee or eat breakfast. 4 Steps up into this building, DH clinging on the railing; his knee just doesn't cooperate much any more. Discovered a small sign saying handicap parking is around the back of the building. Probably a ramp out there, but we don't have a handicap sticker for the car so I really must look into that for him. We've been putting it off. Not wanting to think that we are handicapped these days. I don't need it but he sure does.

So.... it took me till the end of the morning to get daily stuff done. Stopped to help DH who decided he'd change those filters under the sink. We did that successfully, but DH needs / wants a plumbing fix to the pipe going into the storage tank so he doesn't have to rinse those new filters into that tank. He called the plumber again and set that up for Monday afternoon. Monday morning is his stress test.

I really need to work on my bedroom. Sewing on the dust ruffle. I did stop on the way home from restaurant yesterday and bought a new mattress pad. Everything but the ruffle is washed and ready now.

having a hard time focusing. oh my dear ADHD brain; it likes to have fun with me!

so far:
changed water in d dogs pool
made an appointment with the window washer for Monday - furnace man comes that day too (looking forward to checking it off)
played with dogs
turned water on in zone 4 - my dry plant area became too dry.
cleaned birth bath
watered pots
found out cucumbers are dying - we have had cool nights lately
found 2 more pumpkins

Next even though it sticky
continue painting trim on bottom - I am so so close to be done with that job.

hi d harmony. I have that problem as well. Anytime I know I have an appointment or I have to go somewhere; I can't fall asleep. hope you have a restful nap. yay on getting a new mattress pad.

Errand Day happy dance back home before it was too hot.

Got take out.
Found butterfly print flannel for a nite dress & drawing coloring book cmas theme for me with a coupon!
Got the white out pens I wanted. Had to have help finding them they were side ways on the shelf.
* misc. other items. Furnace filter, unders. etc.
Tok dd her bday gift, she told me where I can get a chair ordered like I want. two things one stop luv that.

Lunch with DSis was enjoyable. We shared several memories of Daddy and had some good laughs. DSis and my personalities and lifestyles are different, so we don't share many common activities, or hobbies. We can easily rub each other the wrong way because we have different opinions on almost all subjects. The thing we do share is our memories of being raised together for the first 17 years of our life (we shared a bedroom) and we have the same parents & brothers. We also both have great love for our kids and grandkids. DSis rarely contacts me so I am the one that initiates us talking or doing anything together 99% of the time. It is important to me to keep DSis in my life so I make the effort to remain as close as we can regardless of our differences.

DSis informed me that our life could not continue without having Tajin seasoning available in our home. She explained absolutely EVERYONE uses this seasoning on everything. She went on to inform me that it is used by many even in their glasses of water and she uses it instead of salt on her margaritas. DSis insisted that I come to her home and get a bottle of it. I explained that I could order a bottle from a-river but she didn't want us to be without this seasoning for a single day. So, I hushed and drove to DSis home so she could give me an extra bottle that she always keeps on hand. Then I stood there for another 10 minutes while she explained again all the ways that I should use this seasoning. Did I mention DSis has a strong personality and opinion?

next up - Finish painting DS14 bedroom. I was hoping to do that yesterday, but it didn't happen. We are 51 hours away from our self-imposed handshake-agreed-upon deadline to have this project completed finished. I suspect we might to be like a car race with the finish line....motor revved high, wheels screeching and scrambling to make it to the finish line.

Harmony - that is valuable information to know. Thank you for sharing. Did you have a case on your phones? I am wondering if having a hard case on the TracFone flip phone would help with the flimsy hinges.

Good News. Bad news. Worst news.

Good new= Each year they chose 20 of the best cooks/bakers in our community to bake something for our little library fundraiser. The 20 items in this yearly auction sell for ridiculous prices. These 20 items auctioned off usually raise over $5k in under an hour.
Bad news - I was asked to be one of the 20 cooks/bakers. EEEK! I don't feel like my baking is on par with the well-known bakers/cooks.
Worst news - I agree to do it. I am trying not to think of all the ways I can embarrass myself.

Oh, LadyM, I bet you'll come up with something great for the fundraiser! You would not have been asked if someone didn't have a lot of confidence in your skills!
And I think it is wonderful that you and your sister were able to get together to "celebrate" your dad's birthday. That is a really nice tradition. (The seasoning thing makes me think of dbro & dsisil. When they visit, they always leave behind unusual seasonings that dmom normally doesn't buy. They love hot sauce on everything; I think dsisil carries it with her in her purse when they go to restaurants.)

I had a post going here, and dh came in to delete emails and lost it. I can't really blame him this time though, because I was standing RIGHT HERE beside him to try to prevent that from happening.

Nothing important to tell anyway.
My big ta-da for today was getting the bank statement reconciled. It's really not a big job, but it's one I dread every month, and I have *finally* learned that it is much easier if I just DO IT the minute it arrives in the mail.
(JUST DO IT is a good lesson for a lot of things, isn't it?)

I also ran some errands this morning, (bank, post office, Dollar General, CVS), paid the credit card bill, and talked to dmom on the phone.
Then talked to ds on the phone.

DGD will be here in an hour or so to spend the night, then both dgrands will be with us tomorrow-Monday morning, and I'll have to do the school drop off (which is quite an ordeal, from all the complaints I see on FB. DS says they are usually in line for 20-25 minutes.) DS and DGS are going to high school football game tonight; dh had rather listen to it on the radio and watch the Braves play.
Tomorrow we are all going to a show in MS where ds is playing, but we are not riding with ds. He has to stay overnight, so we will follow along and take the dgrands with us, then we'll come back home after the show.

Oh YES -- WHY is it sooo hard to fall asleep on the nights one knows she needs to be asleep the most? DH and I both have a terrible time falling asleep when we have an early morning alarm. (Fortunately, we don't have to leave tomorrow till around 2:00 p.m.)

(((HUGS))) about the handicapped tag, Harmony, but I would say YES -- get it ASAP! We have a hangtag for dh. Here, we just had to get our family doctor to fill out a form and take that to the tag office. It was no problem at all, and it has certainly helped dh a LOT. There is no way he would still be going to college football games without it, and it has come in handy so many times.

And more (((HUGS))) for Harmony, Harriet, and Twins for household repair stress. You too, blessed -- and LadyM -- with the DIY stuff y'all have going on! I wish I had some of our projects here underway, but I don't envy y'all all the headaches that come with it. (I guess when we can actually SEE into the attic from the study floor, then dh will bite the bullet and say let's get this done. Shaking my head... )

I NEVER sleep well either, Harmony, when I have anything coming up the next morning -no matter how early it is. Dh otoh loves to make his appointments as early as possible. Thus, his 7:30am appointments with our cardiologist. I just can't get going that early.

Dh just came back from his shower. Now, at least, I know the answer to wasps being in the RV. When dh sucked up in the mini vac he put a sandwich bag over the end and taped it. He just looked at it out on the deck. Those buggers (literally) put a hole in the bag and were escaping.
