I took a test and it's negative. I'm reconsidering masking here at home when around him after talking to dd. He's upstairs working now.

I've mostly finished a.m. routine and have steps in.

I'm going to finish a.m. routine, reboot laundry over, and head upstairs myself. (My room up there is different than his office and has different heat system too.) I hope to do 15 min clean up at some point.

Happening at my home.....
10:32am - 14th time the electricity has gone off
10:36am - 15th time the electricity has gone off
10:46am - 16th time the electricity has gone off
10:55am - 17th time the electricity has gone off
Each time the generator comes on and runs until the electric power returns (usually in a minute or two). Hopefully these off/on electrical cycles won't cause damage to equipment or a fire.

I've been texting with DGD12 and DD46. DGD12 is sick.

I am trying to decide how healthy I want to be. That might seem like a strange thing to decide but the answer determines many parts of my daily life. To increase my knowledge about healthy living requires effort to learn AND to implement what I've learned. Why bother learning if I'm not going to implement and use what I learn? Part of the decision is knowing there is always a chance I will be hit by a truck tomorrow so any effort to healthy living today is wasted. So....asking self.....am I willing to do my best to remain mentally acute, physically active, strong enough to do whatever activity I want, pain free, and have an abundance of energy?
OR do I want to stop trying and just do whatever feels good right now… No restraint on favorite foods (Pizza & potato chips), no goals, no challenges. Just relax and be okay with whatever happens to my body & mind.

ddgoggo upchucked by the door to go out but I did not get there in time.
I was speaking in a soft kind voice to her it was okay and then she wanted out.
Was done soon and came right back in. She seems fine now.
we both had some oatmeal a bit ago.

Did some journaling.
I messaged kids I was okay and had heat still.
Working some on my planning stuff for 2023 as I think of things.
Three pages at a time from the planning workshop I listened to last nite.

My pastor checked on me last nite via text that was nice.
I put more very hot from the stove water down the drain again just in case.

Well dd FINALLY posted that they had landed around 1:30pm. They were supposed to leave at 9:45 and be to Orlando by 12:40. So they sat on the plane by the gate until well after 10am. Poor dh. It obviously was a great reunion for DS-R, DD and Dh. Dh hadn't a clue that either of our dks would be there -and certainly not DD! It will be a while before they get to the car as they have to get baggage first and then weewaw their way to the parking garage. Dh was thinking he'd have to walk. Not so -they have the wheel chair as long as needed. They'll both be exhausted by the time they get here. Dh's friend had told me he was very weak today. I know he wants to go see his DB but I'm hoping he isn't too insistent.

I realized earlier and did some measuring in our room. There's not enough room for dh to get around my recliner and into the bathroom with the walker. So we're going to have to do some furniture moving when dd gets here.

I need to go get dh's presents wrapped so he doesn't see what I got.

Spent the most ever at A ldi's today: $252! Well, $100 was a gift card for the people dh has been staying with. He'd already gotten one from her other favorite grocery store and I am sending another for TX Roadhouse. We'll probably send more along the way. Oh that's right he also got a $100 gift card to their favorite diner.

Still waiting to hear they've made it to the car and it's going toward 3pm. Oh, dh is going to be so exhausted when he gets here. Sure he already is. So praying for him to start feeling better soon if not sooner. But, yes, Twins, I'm so glad they're at least to Orlando. Had to pause to answer the phone -it was dh saying they're finally on their way home.

I covered up all the remaining presents to be wrapped. I only got two wrapped and my back was done in. So I'll just have to do it piece meal for the next couple of days.

Dee - That is wonderful news! I am extremely glad for you and DH to be back together again.

Current situation here -
12:53pm - 23rd time the electricity has gone off.
The gusty wind (50+ mph) is reducing so the electricity is staying on longer each time.

I used the oven for a couple of hours this morning while baking an abundance of biscuits. The extra heat from the oven feels good and the smell of bread baking is a treat. DH and the kids have already eaten about 1/4 of the biscuits that I made for them.

Supper tonight will be a Costco chicken re-heated in the slow cooker for 2 hours in a Tandoori sauce. I will make rice to go with the chicken. As I was taking the chicken apart to put it in the crock pot, the youngest cat may have thought that yummy cooked chicken was raining down on her head. Just a few pieces, but she gobbled them up.

Dh needed some things at cost co this morning, so we went fairly early (before 10.) What a mad house. Today is the last day of school here, plus there is a major storm coming. After we shopped dh decided he wanted some chicken strips and fries, so we sat for a bit. In that very brief period of time, 3 portable generators were seen getting rolled past us. We are seriously considering getting one installed next year.

Knitting was a very small group today, most likely due to all the commentary on the radio about the upcoming storm. As it was, dh made me take the truck because it has 4X4. It's 3:30 and there still hasn't been any wind or rain or freezing rain or snow or power outages. It is overcast.

The other one was a fake I am 99% sure. unless it's a gift...

Got laundry going one load.
Next flicks is on. a true store detective type show is on pope was in it. Vatican Girl.
