if y'all have never seen a Bucee's (Buccee's?) travel stop... oh my goodness... google it. It's like the world's largest 24-hour truck stop. It's amazing.

DD would agree, Lucylee! Dh has also stopped but I never have. When dd was taking a bunch of her students to a state competition in Jacksonville, FL last year they stopped. One of her students said, "If Walmart and Wawa had a baby it would be Buccee's". Apt description she agreed.

Nieces from CA are here and have been here for over 2 hours so far (on their way to Orlando). DD, DS-R, DDIL, & DGS18 had gone hiking at a place near here hoping they'd be able to just come back and get ready to head toward NY. DDIL has been packing and loading their car. I can only wish that this would be time spent with them. I know, I shouldn't be so selfish. Have no idea how long before nieces leave. They're spending the night in Orlando as their flight to CA is tomorrow morning and they didn't want to deal with morning traffic on I-4. As it is they've left a huge bin of stuff that one of them wanted but can't take with them on the airplane. The youngest says she'll be back to get it, but I'm not sure how that will be as the only way she'll come is to fly????? Perhaps I'll just get it packaged up and send it to her. Know it's going to cost a bundle to ship, but maybe we can send it U P S or Fed X or something. DD doesn't need to store it for X years. That's a project I'll work on after dh gets his medical taken care of -I can hope!

Dh and I went for cheeseburgers for lunch.

Before we went, I organized the freezer drawer in the kitchen. Far too many popsicles got contained into a clear plastic bin I have in the bottom drawer. There were 3 open boxes of meatballs, so I put all of them into 1 zippered baggie. Neither one of us like lima beans, so I will toss them out for the birds to see if they like them when the weather gets a lot nicer.

I have remade the bed. I put a different colour of sheets on because dh thought we only had 1 bed sheet and thought we needed to go buy more sheets. For the record, we have 5 sets, plus way too many pillow cases. I showed all the different bottom sheets to dh this morning and asked him to pick a colour, so we are going from a dark blue to a maroon colour. Unfortunately we can't have white ones because dh would get dirt and grease on them and it would drive me crazy trying to get the stains out.

Friends came and are gone. Dh made omelets and a fruit salad and we had brunch, then the two men worked on the lights in the backyard. They're so finicky I bet one or more will be off again soon, but for the moment they're on, or will be again when it gets dark. Dh has gone to Lowes or HD for more light bulbs for them. I might nap. I just feel so tired - probably so much social interaction.

We walked a couple of slow laps while they worked on the lights.

I've mostly updated my planner for the week.

So going to nap while he's out.

I've planned the meals for February and made up a grocery list.

I am in awe of this. This is a huge accomplishment. I have tried many times to do it with different methods but somewhere along the way I quit doing it. My life would be so much easier if I could consistently do meal planning. Hum.....I wonder how I could break the menu planning process down into the simplest form with ridiculously tiny steps.

We have beautiful sunny weather with no wind. It is 60F and I got so hot that I took off my winter clothes and put on a summer shirt. I know this weather won't be around for long, but it is a welcome break from the cold.

I couldn't come up with an S word that fits my Sunday! Maybe because it started out oddly for me. I woke up and looked at the clock, yipes! I missed getting up to go to church. But wait, maybe I can still make it if I hurry. Got dressed in a flash (good that I made those decisions last night before bed), who needed makeup or coffee - not me today, and out the door. I only missed one song at the beginning. I'm not real fond of the music anyway, so didn't miss it.

Yesterday I cleaned the entire office, everything all dusted and even the floor. Every odd piece of paper dealt with. I can't believe how good it looks. Last night I had to reset the Modem, but pulling the wires and reinstalling didn't work like it always does and I learned something about it, like getting into the settings and turning it on that way.

Stopped at store on the way home and got a padded envelope and a shipping box to ship the birthday present and the baby gift, both wrapped and cards written last evening. Everything fits so they'll be on their way Monday.

Put the TV on after getting home, a Hoarders program was on. I shouldn't watch those, they trigger something in me. I live with a certain level of messes around me, none of which is mine, it's all because of DH. I was looking around and noticing all the decluttering I've been doing is making a big difference here. Except for his places. I did gather all the rubbish for pickup and I took a big plastic bag around and found a lot of other things to discard or put into recycling. Glass jars, old parts for stuff DH didn't know what they were, extra plastic lids, an old pillow, old pair of capris; filled the bag. Felt good to do that.

My desk is piled up again. I don't know how the rest of you stay ahead of all that. I seem to be dealing with it almost every day. So I guess that's next.

Kathryn, have you seen in a lot of talk show news how Marie Condo (sp?) has said now that she has 3 kids, she's not going to work on tidying her house like before. That's all just to generate publicity (which it did) or her level of untidy is very different from ours! I do have one drawer folded the way she says and I like it.

I went looking for a menu planning method that I used in the past and updated it for the month of February. I have no idea if it will work but it feels good to have made an effort.

My S is socialized out! I slept two hours, not sure why I was so tired except for socialization. Hoping I can sleep tonight now.

Uh, same could be said here. We all slept actually. Especially DD!

DS-R, DDIL, DGS18 & their Ddog left here about 1:45pm. They'd hoped to be on the road north before 1. But with visiting nieces (their cousins) that didn't happen. We could take the older one okay I'm sure but the younger one in very small doses. She left a big trunk like crate here full of geneological stuff from dbil's. She wants it but they couldn't take it with them. DD, Dh and I all agree -we're going to flip through the stuff quickly to be sure we have anything we might want and then we're taking it to U P S. She said she'd be back to get it (from CA!) We're left wondering how she would then transport it anyway because she would never drive, but fly. So to get it out of here, Dh and I will spend the $$ and get it gone. It's all pretty much stuff that none of us would ever look at. Nieces probably left around 1 for Orlando so they were here about 3 hours. Too long for dh most assuredly. Don't know how you managed with dh, Harriet back when you were playing 'visitor cop'.

We too, as you can probably tell are pretty well 'peopled out'. Much as we loved seeing most.

Back home from church the presentation went well that I was in.
Saw some friends from a diff. church we used to go to it was good to talk to them.
We have rain today.

I went through my card file and I'm working on some tweaks for that.
Got papers cut for the smaller file box I am starting on.
It feels great to simplify these and incorporate some ideas from live my / your dream.
And found some writing prompts might be from the SHE system.

I changed date night card to art date.
Tossed some I am doing consistently that I no longer need to be reminded of.
Rethinking some other cards.

Got my prompts written in my planner to fill out next week and beyond.
The rains stopped so I walked ddog.

Although I love to talk, and have been known to carry on long conversations, it is easy for me to get "peopled out," too! (((BIG HUGS))) for Twins, & for Dee & family.

Well, LadyM, I'm doing pretty well on staying on-task today, although I'm not really following the "PLAN" I laid out earlier. With Sundays, it's hard to go hour by hour. I have a bunch of little tasks that take 5-10 minutes each, but it adds up to about 30 minutes, PLUS grocery shopping and putting away.
So -- this is the progress for today so far: (after church, lunch, and piano lesson for dgs)
* grocery shopping
* put away groceries
* washed lunch dishes
* did allergy shots
* sent email to allergy doc for refills (should have done last week, but it slipped my mind!)
* finished refilling meds for week (did some last night but had to restock at Wmart this afternoon)
* got trash ready to go to the road
* replaced filter in humidifier and having it "airing out" -- will refill with water before bedtime
* checked purse for junk/trash/etc
* wiped out refrigerator shelves
PLUS, not a normal Sunday task --
* washed two small loads of clothes, because dgs' basketball uniform is here and he has a game tomorrow night, so I wanted to go ahead and get it ready so ds/ddil wouldn't have to think about it tonight or tomorrow at the last minute. And I didn't want to wash the white jersey with the red shorts.

Still to do:
[ ] water (my one pitiful) plant
[ ] take trash to road
[ ] put dishes away (they are in the drainer on the counter)
[ ] fold load of clothes that is in the dryer
[ ] finish setting up my planner for the week, (mostly done, but I plan to add some color while watching tv later tonight)
[ ] eat supper
[ ] exercise
[ ] dry dh's shower for him

See why Sunday is my hardest day of the week??? * whew *
