I only got a bit less than 5 hours' sleep last night so I'm a bit slow today. DH is bored and looking for something to do. Nothing to do except invent things and complain about things. sigh...
I wish it would rain. I just paid our water bill. I'm tired of dragging the hose around.
I washed my laundry and have it all hanging up. I have some reading to do if I can stay awake.

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
Well, dd and dh just left for the airport and of course I'm bawling. Hated to let him go, but in retrospect he is the best I've seen him in the past many days. At first his flight was going to be delayed almost an hour now they're back to being 3 minutes late. So "on time" it says. Figured this was a good place to come to get my composure back.
Dh is wearing his heavier work boots today (also winter). So I was trying to tell him that I'd put his Crocs in his Biaggi checked bag. He kept telling us "No, I'll just wear them inside my boots. They've always fit." So he put the boots on earlier and said, "See, they fit!" ummmm......but your Crocs are sitting right here -"Oh, I thought you were saying 'SOCKS'." We never could figure out why he thought his crocs would fit inside.
DD talked to DGS23 who's picking him up and I think his DGF is going to the airport with him. Asked if we thought the truck would be ok? Uh, no, not unless he wants to lift him into the truck. Did tell him not to let dh, under any circumstances, to use the steps at their house without help. I've been telling DS-A for years that they need to put up a railing. Maybe he'll finally see the need. They do have a fancy step out front with a big curve so I imagine he didn't want to sully the look. But the step up to the porch is really a big one.
Oh, it is so quiet here. I did figure one thing out today though. IF dh and I are going to be in the same space much of the time I need to set aside time JUST FOR ME. I think one of the hard things is that I'm constantly being interruppted with things for dh. I don't mind doing any of them but find myself a little rattled as my chain of thought is constantly messed with or I stop mid-project to do something. I've especially noticed this since I've been trying to do things to get him ready to go.
Need to start with some planning of what to do/when in the coming days or weeks.
I'm trying some lobster bisque for lunch. Picked up a refrigerated container a few days ago. Have to give it a thumbs up.

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
We made a plan for the day. It would be nice to take some time off this grind of getting things back together. We moved the stuff I moved into the garage back into the house. Dh's priority today was getting the garage clear enough that he can move a possible new car into it and see how it fits.
Yes, very important. My thought was that I would move things back in gradually as I go through them. But that's done, and we hung some of our art and talked about (rationally!) moving some art to different places. I haven't liked DR as there were two paintings of about the same size on either side of the door, and I felt it needed something of a different size or orientation. So we'll try that and work more on that tomorrow.
Breaking now. I started a load of laundry this a.m. and it's in the dryer. Also ran a load that hangs dry, and I folded the laundry I did yesterday. (Towels for upstairs and the accumulated cleaning clothes.
In about thirty minutes, we'll go to dfriend M's to see her and her dh and their son who is visiting. Short visit, and we'll return the dog crate that she loaned us also. And after that we'll go to the river for awhile. And tomorrow do some house things too.

This is true here also, even tho dh is quite abled. It's usually finding things. And I can't leave him to hang pictures on his own because they will be too high or not centered, and I'm particular.I'm constantly being interrupted with things for dh.

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
I have walked with ddog.
I have been to the sale up the street and got a fun wire basket hoping to put flowers in later maybe tulips.
A shirt denim and it has a logo from a jet boat company we went on good memories.
Also got 4 bread pans, two for storing bottles of my craft paint in the shed as they were not in perfect shape.
The two that are like new are good enough to cook in.
----
I had lunch then a bit later did up dishes from that.
Looked out seeing the neighbors take at least one load a day over to their new place around the corner.
Other neighbors moved out a very large tool box biggest one I've ever seen.
Looking at the mtns. in the distance seeing a snow squall, and more weather coming in later today.
Some wind and rain here glad I got the walk done.
-----
I got my steps in by three p.m.
I picked up the back yard after the dog.
I found one of my walking sticks I have been looking for 6 mo. at least in the plant cage with the stakes.
Weeded a but got 6 weeds out horehound is one thing I have been trying to get out of here.
----
We had some wind a small branch came out of the tree I got that picked up.
The grass is greening up after the rains we had this week yea for me getting it fertilized.
I have been enthralled with the birds wild canries are back our state bird!

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
Of course things didn't go according to plan. At first we noted that dh's plane was being delayed almost an hour. Later I decided to look again, albeit dd had said "They never go backwards". Uh, yeah -nope, suddenly it was only 3 minutes later than originally scheduled. So dd and dh got going not as early as they should have. When she was 8 miles from the airport, W A Z E told her she was 25 minutes out. Traffic crawled at 10mph. So she had me looking to see if dh could get curbside checkin. Eventually it all worked out and security was taking him through -much faster than she ever could. Then he called me and said he was sitting in the wheelchair line at the gate. Whew!! They should be almost ready to take off. Just took a gander and it says "boarding" and take off time 3:55 so they'll probably be a few minutes late. Know dh is very tired. He didn't sleep well last night and took a nap after his lunch and he was sleeping so soundly I hated to wake him, but had to.
Been meaning to share a good happening about DS-A from Wednesday, but kept getting interrupted by who knows what! When they were flying from Rochester to Orlando DS-A was sleeping. All of a sudden the woman behind them started screaming that her baby was choking. DDIL quickly shook him and let him out. Once again "Captain Hero" saved the day and managed to rescue the little girl, 18 months. She was eating some Goldfish. It's so uncanny as it's not the first time that he's saved a life down here. I know of at least two others that he was in the right spot at the right time. Sure Harriet's DS has had some of those adventures as well. Proud that he knows these skills though he said he was mad at himself because he didn't feel he'd done everything exactly right. So grateful this family got to come to "magic' land with their little one.
Just checked and see that they departed at 4:07 so only 12 minutes late. Still supposed to be in Rochester at 6:43. DGS and his GF will be picking him up.

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
Rambling @ the refuge (60K acres) was a success. I am keeping my expectations low, keeping this weekly outing simple to accomplish. Afterwards we ate at one of the 3 restaurants that I know the cook. I always enjoy my food more when a known & trusted person prepares it.
DH had a prescription to pick up so we went to the city to get it. While there I filled up with gas and bought a dozen or so items on our shopping list. We were home and unloading the items when the phone rang. It was the pharmacy saying that DH left his prescription in the cart (in the parking lot) but someone found it and turned it into the pharmacy. This medicine retails for $1500 so we are thankful for the honest & helpful person that turn it in. DH was frustrated with himself that he left it in the cart, but I reminded him that we all messed up!

Dirty dishes from supper are in the dishwasher. I used to let them sit somewhere (counter or stove top) overnight and then soak them in the morning and then load the dishes into the dishwasher. It's been pouring rain for a few hours, and the drains are gurgling again, so I don't think I'm doing the 2 pots tonight. ... who am I kidding... BRB...
Not much later... the pots and pans are all done! Yay!

(((Dee))) You and DH have many years of doing things that fit your lifestyle. I hope you both get a good night sleep.
BWTG Cathy!
I am winding my day down. I'm reached 10k steps and finished hourly step goals, so my reward is to put on my PJ's. DD11 just finished her shower and washing hair. She is in the kitchen making a snack. DS14 is outside with friends so I will stay up until he comes inside. I will check the firepit before I go to bed. It has bigger sized logs that will slowly burn most of the night.
Sweet dreams.

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
Hoping Mr. DeeClutter had a non-eventful trip and is enjoying his grandson's company.
Kathryn, I was not funny today, particularly. I appreciated the story. Count your blessings because there may be an extra you need to gather.
It's been a strange day here and I got about half of my intended accomplishments checked off.
The young man had picked dd up and they went on a day of various errands, including coming to visit here.
2 presents I'd ordered arrived but I haven't gotten them wrapped yet. One is a gently used book published in 2009 on a subject for which I happen to know dd43 is giving a more tangible gift. I hope she knows what she's doing, so that our present of a book about it will seem to make sense! I understand this book is considered vintage to the hobby by now, and therefore becoming valuable on the shelf again. Otherwise, the tried-and-true tee shirt gift - this time a Waikiki one
, so I'm going to be explaining what a long trip I had to make to find it. My story and I'm sticking to it. Otherwise, HRH will give money and be the favorite relative anyhow.
Unfortunately, he won't be able to attend the party tomorrow because his former assistant from when he managed the large plant has had a health setback that is very difficult, and the fellow's wife has been chatting with HRH about coming to visit them tomorrow. That becomes very important.
Dd24 won't be able to attend as she will be completing an outdoor mural at her old gallery. She wanted to get that done today but it rained.
Dstepson will be in and out.
We'll have Mexican, which is such a favorite for me. Not for my scale, but for me.
Prayer Meeting online was very calm and centered tonight. Enjoyed that.
Forwarded phone message request to the interim pastor at my membership church from someone who didn't know who to call.

Re: No foolin'!! It's April 1st!!
Dee, glad to read your DH got off safely. It sounds so complicated to manage all that. Hats off to you for all you do. I know I'd have trouble doing what you do. I could pack and organize...but all the other, managing the reservations and tracking, etc., no I'd be lost. And of course, here we're completely on our own and have no family help for much of anything. I'm trying not to be resentful for any of that.
It is Palm Sunday tomorrow and I am trying to figure things out. I am going to TRY to attend the first service, which means I'll be out the door at 8:00. That'll be hard. But the next two services are so crowded that I feel a bit claustrophobic. DH is convinced he should take his rollator and do the greeting for all 3 services. With a long walk back and forth from his truck. I don't understand his thinking. I told him if he can do this he doesn't need my help around here like he expects. I asked him if he thinks he gets some kind of "points" from doing this?
DSisilaw called about Easter, said it was at her son's and she had talked with DH and then texted me. I guess he completely forgot we made plans to go up to DGS's in Clearwater. sigh.... I texted her and told her if we don't go up there we don't get to see that part of my family. And if I don't go to other DD's at Christmas we don't get to see that part of my family for the whole year either. Down here where all the older folk live stories like this are very common. I ran into a woman one time who complained about no one being around and having a peanut butter sandwich at the beach for her Christmas. Those of you who have family nearby, be very grateful.
