Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
Dee we didn't watch that game.
I sorted through the bookmark drawer. Tossed out a few things, but kept most of the actual book marks. I also re-sorted this tapestry yarn because I've moved it 3 or 4 times in the past couple of days.
I also gave the toilet and the bathroom sink a good cleaning.
Other than sweeping the hallway, I am not doing any other floors today.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
Hi! I am glad to see better news from Dee today.
I started a LOL and then had my QT. Today I changed a set of sheets and washed the pillow too. When that dried I had to work on it a bit to smooth out the lumps. I wish my pillows were more washable. Do any of you wash your pillows? DH has a very flat pillow and it's pretty old. I've offered him a new one many times but he wants this little pillow. When this one dried I put it in a basket out on the back porch to get air to make sure it was dry all the way through. I smells springtime fresh now.
Sorted papers on my desk. Paid a bill. My vehicle insurance came for the next 6 months and I am surprised how much it just went up. I need to call the agency.
We got the toilet working again. I could hardly get it to respond to the lever handle and DH adjusted the chain and now it works fine. I turned off the shutoff valve and am watching it, but so far it does not look like it leaks into the bowl any more. DH thinks the plug to the drain was warped and didn't fit tightly. So...chased that gremlin out of here.
We addressed the hose problems outside. I tried to hook up one hose at the side of the garage and it was leaking a lot at the fittings. DH took wrenches and tried to tighten and we think it's fixed. But we are still one hose short, nothing at the back hose bib. I wonder where that one went. So... up from the ground boiled a whole multitude of ants when we got water on that area so I treated them. We will have to buy one for the back yard. It's always something that needs done around here.
So... that's it so far today. Watching the news.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
texting with DGS26 as he is filling out forms at his new job. Decisions about health, vision, dental, life insurance are done. He is texting me pictures of his desk and digital toys/tools. I experienced about 1 second of envy then I remembered that I'm retired because a job cuts into my play time.
I can buy my own toys.
Every morning I reach for the spray bottle of Windex and a rag to quickly (less than 3 minutes) wipe down my bathroom. This morning my bottle of windex was gone. I immediately knew DS14 is the only person who would take it. I briefly had a happy thought that that he is using it to clean his bathroom without being told. Then I remembered that last night DS14 changed a friend's oil while she worked to remove the tint from her pickup windows. It didn't take much of an investigation to find my missing Windex bottle.
I dug on the outside edge of raised bed #5 and found a gopher/mole tunnel. I stuck the water hose in it to encourage them to move away from the garden. Hopefully, they will take a hint to move over to the bull pasture and live a long happy life there.

I've been on the run. I had body work, then went through Michaels to pick up my framing order - the CG certificate and a print that we purchased a couple of years ago. Both look wonderful. By the time I got home I had to eat something, then head back out for workout at two. After workout I went on to Lowes for potting soil.
So now I need to get outside and pot up those plants, right? UGH. I'm sitting here.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
We went out so dh could speak with dcampowner (well he doesn't really own it now but is in control for another about 4 years I think). Something about new stickers for the 'weekender' sites. Evidently the ones he has don't fit. Won't matter for the next week or so as temps are supposed to be pretty cool. Today we were having grauple (snow/ice/rain/hale mix). So we took a ride around the park. Little did I know he'd left his phone here on the recliner!
Had everything with me in case his Dr called. Well of course he did. But when I talked with the receptionist she said it looked like he wants to see dh. However it would have been too late this afternoon anyway and tomorrow he has nothing. So dh has an appointment at 1:45 on Thursday. So I'll continue giving him what he prescribed on Thursday. Dh just said a few minutes ago that he has very mixed emotions (about his health). I'm not surprised as I know he doesn't like living like this at all.
DS-R said he'd be back tomorrow morning and is hoping DS-A comes out too as everthing has to come off the deck. Yikes!

Twins', I do save sometimes, but I also use up and run out of them. That's when I go searching to see what Twins' thought of previously!
That's called research, btw.
Cathy, a "Things That Could Be Used for Bookmarks" drawer is an extremely
intelligent use of drawer space in my opinion. I just have a container (actually a large-size Swiffer wet container that stacks with others) that I have labeled: Paper Bookmarks. Inside I also put greeting cards that are just too lovely to let go, and could be cut up into rectangular bookmarks. For instance, HRH's dmother had sent me a very attractive card with a poem and I cut the poem out with design above and below for a rectangle, hole-punched the top and added a floss tassel. I'll give it to her for Mother's Day so she'll know I noticed and appreciated her choice of card for me.
Memorable fortune-cookie sentiments - I don't know what to do with these. I once taped a few onto a 3x5 and put it into the "quotes" section of a cardfile. I don't see why you couldn't use one that really amused you on a bookmark. Maybe a collage of clever little art and items. Twins' would know how to make something keepsake out of papers. I can see how this could totally sidetrack me (it doesn't take much, does it?).
Ddil is getting a new-to-her Jeep and I drove ds to pick up his own truck after he had driven it home for her. He has always loved vehicle shopping. He shopped for this for many months before finding one that fit the bill. I enjoyed chatting with him.
On the way home I stopped for ice cream. That sounds odd, but there is an ice cream shop that calls HRH when they have a favorite flavor (he likes their Black Cherry and their Walnut) that isn't made often. I wouldn't have made the trip for that alone, but it was on the way home so serendipity sent me.
Long heart-to-heart with dd43 on the phone afterward. She had texted some frustration and I thought it sounded like she needed someone to talk to.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
Last year just after we found out that dh might possibly come in to a bit of money from his Uncle's estate, I got a fortune cookie message that said "Good things come to those who wait. Be patient." I taped it onto my monitor and I cannot tell you how many times I have read that in the past 11 months. (Yes almost a year since he died, and probate was supposed to take 6 months...) We finally got some possibly good news today. That fortune cookie message helped me. Now I think it's time to find another one from my stash.
I also removed the tag from the mattress that dh and I took to the landfill a few years ago. That was in my book mark stash as well.
There is a load of laundry going. I have a dishwasher to empty and refill. Off to do that now.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
Just finished getting dh tucked in an doing up the few dishes I had. I've decided to just use paper/plastic for the next few days so we don't have dishes with food particles left. Trying to have at least the living area pretty ready for the day tomorrow. DS-R said he may need my help on the deck tomorrow -deciding what can go and what needs to come back on the deck. Yi yi yi.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
Well dgd was a no show sigh...
I did some yard work off and on.
Pruned another rose bush ouchy.
Got some dead heading done in the front flower bed.
I dug out a small bush and pruned it and got it moved.
Got pic of my bulbs in bloom.
We've [the dog & I ] had a lovely day here.
Heard that the dogwood festival got moved and happened last weekend so not doing that this year. Oh well.
I de-stressed the drop leaf table some so that helped.
Moved a freestanding full length mirror.

Re: Tuesday Ta Dah PWYC
Busy, non-productive day here.
Dgs showed up at 7:30 a.m. so that cut one hour off my time to do stuff today.
I had tea and chocolate after he arrived, skipped the light therapy but was out for over 90 minutes with him so that will balance out. He and I went over to one of the construction sites to watch the equipment working and then to the park for almost an hour.
Got home with 8 minutes to prep lunch. His dad was off his zoom call (which was a 2.5 hour seminar on speech therapy for children who are slow to speak) and while he was trying to get dgs to wash his hands I rushed into the kitchen to scramble an egg but when when I opened my fridge I discovered ds had a full lunch for him. Dgs was melting down so we got him in the chair and eating, then I made my own breakfast and ds heated up his lunch and we ate.
Then he was off to be for at least a 90 minute nap and I slept, deeply, for 60 minutes of that.
We played some more, had snack and then he was off by 2:45 to pick up mommy from work.
And, aside from tidying up, I stopped doing stuff. Dinner was grilled cheese and then I did nothing for a few more hours and finally cleaned up the kitchen.
Dd texted to ask when she can come over tomorrow. Sigh.... so she'll be here around 10:15. Dh has a physio zoom call at 9 which will be done by then. How they can do physio remotely is beyond me. But I have questions so will be in on that call.
We did hear that his cardioversion has been moved up by 2 weeks so that's good news.
I really needed to do stuff today so I've really fallen behind now. Taxes and residents' group are my urgent and important things that need doing.
But I'm off to bed now and will have an early start in the morning.
