I had a very long, hot shower and I ended up going into the bedroom to get something and the next thing you know... nap!

I'm awake now. I've put the ATV away, locked both vehicles and the garage and now dh is sleeping.

I think I'll go read a book.

Cathy - I am so happy that you once again have hot water flowing from the faucets. YES!!

Useless facts that DS14 told me....
It cost 63 cents of gas to fill up the gas tank on a push mower. He didn't have a gas can handy so he just loaded up the push mower and filled it up at the gas station.
It cost 38 cents of diesel to fill up a tea bottle. DS14 and his friend are going to replace the fuel filter on his pickup tonight and thought they needed some diesel to prime it, so they bought enough diesel to fill an empty tea bottle. Neither teenager has ever changed a fuel filter, but they are confident in their youtube research.

Cathy, I am happy for you that your hot water is flowing again. It's not just the hot water, it's the freedom of having that worry gone.

I have that worry about a lady who can't get her insurance because of her roof. She is a relative. We are trying to decide how to help her. Actually I'm surprised her house wasn't flagged before this. All our insurance companies are struggling after all these recent hurricanes. Some no longer sell homeowners, some have closed, all have stringent rules. DH is upset about it too.

LadyM, with the way you are allowed to do things, I'd be surprised if your insurance companies are like ours. Our insurance companies, after they approve a person's property, actually come out and walk around your property. I haven't seen anybody here from our new company but they might have been here. Usually with a fence, even like ours which isn't locked, they will knock on the door and ask permission to come on the property. Funny story...I had a next door neighbor on our old house who was getting insurance and she dragged her trampoline over into our yard until the inspector was done. They will deny insurance for having those and for a bunch of breeds of dogs, like pit bulls, boxers, dobermans, mastiff's.

Now if your house is in a flood zone there's a whole raft of other laws to follow and insurance issues, but that's a whole other can of worms.

Oh look, our colors are back!

I had a nice shower to get rid of the yard dirt and twice I've put salves on my hands and fingers. They are very sore. Some things I can't do with gloves. I made a nice dinner, a turkey roast, carrots and onions (boy they burned my sore spots) and stuffing and gravy. Doing the dishes hurt my hands and so did filling up my pill containers tonight. I couldn't manage that with plastic gloves on.

Good evening everyone. I am comfortably propped up in bed with one of those fancy pillows with the arms! Our temperatures lately have been in the upper 80s with the heat index way over 100. Dgrd-H told me this morning when she came home from work that the humidity was 81%. Yuck - I did not go outside today!

Lady M, I'm sorry that your dd had so much damage to her house. I hope it won't be hard to have all the repairs done.

Cathy, I, too, and happy that you have hot water again; no need to live like a pioneer woman now! Also, I feel bad that you had a nasty experience with that woman. But I'm glad that you have the support of the other ladies in your group. And us here, too! ((Hugs))

Nancy, it is nice to hear about the work being done on your house. The new deck will be pleasant and safer for you to enjoy.

When I opened the Village link today, I had no trouble getting in, even though it was a few extra seconds loading. Changing from one thread to another took a few seconds longer Many thanks to Kathryn for all the work you do keeping the board up and running. I do wish things were not so stressful for you now! ((Hugs))

Well, dgrd-H will be 23 weeks along in a day or so. She is still dealing with morning sickness, though I think it is not as often.

Dgrson is off to PA for an extended weekend duty. They are doing field training instead of his regular work duties. He just came back from TX for field support training with one of the airborn divisions. Ddil is worried that this will be leading to something more serious.

Our little Mahjongg group has been meeting every Friday. They suspended playing last summer, but so far I think we will keep going this summer. Meetings are at 10:30 a.m. till around 2:30 in the afternoon. It is lots of fun and I really enjoy it.

I was awake at 6 a.m. this morning, although I didn't get up until about 8:30 because I didn't want to wake anyone else. When I went downstairs dgrd had just come home from work and she and her mom were going to take dgrd's dh's car to the shop to get oil changed and inspected. When they returned home dgrd went to sheep for a while. After I had my breakfast and emptied the dishwasher, I brought my full laundry basket down to do my laundry. While the washer twins were working I got my laptop out and paid the bills for the month. Most of my clothes are hung up or put in drawers, there's just a few things left to put away.

We have 50% chance of rain for the next few days. There was a thunderstorm in the area this afternoon; we heard the thunder and it was very cloudy, but the rain missed us. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow while we are walking to and from our neighbor's house.

The support 2x6's" or 2x8's" are in place and have been stained. The have the border of decking on and three boards on the furtherest edge from the house. In other words cannot use it. The foreman's son had a health issue and left in a hurry a bit early. It was hot and dgson & his buddy left at 3 or three thrity. I do not blame them but was disappointed that they did not get more decking on. Steps will not be done before the weekend neither will the railing but hoping I can see more of the decking on. I can still smell the stain.

It is a medium size deck not tiny, or huge. I remembered I have the folding table I painted that is in the shed I can use on it when it's done possibley or the tall rolling cart. But I do not do much entertaining so it might be more for journals or writing in the mornings. 90-100* too hot to be outside even if a person does have a shade thingie. Could be great for drying herbs! I use the rail a lot for fabric and hand wash LOL! Fake plants might work for me. Some people have a cluttery deck with plaques etc. on it grills, holders for soda etc. I have been thinking of changing it up for more of the things I like to do, like when I cut out fabric outside on the workspace out there one time!

I did water the outter edges this evening and that helped me to unwind. My tomatoes are coming on but just a few at a time.
