LadyM, I'm happy the kitty is still alive. DD must be taking extra special care of it. Do you know if it's a girl or a boy yet?

Busy day here. I paid a statement and got things out to the mailbox in time. Then I began the painting of the 2nd planter. It was not quite as annoying as the first planter. Only 1 side was down in the mud...well, just loose dirt... whatever the kind is that sticks all over the knees and legs. I got that one painted in record time. I have about an inch of that paint left in the bucket. It looks sooo good. It's bright and shiny. And matches the other planter and the house paint.

Everything cleaned and put away... then I jumped in the shower and I drove off to do my errands. Figured I'd call my relative about her roof stuff on the way...but pulling out of the driveway I stopped at the mailbox and guess what I found? A letter from MY new insurance company. I skimmed the first page a bit before going up to next town. Up there I stopped at thrift and gave them all my donations. My bin is empty right now. Feels so good to do that. The bank was next where I put in a check we'd received and then a stop at a supermarket. Got a dozen things there. Picked up a nice round watermelon. With this hot weather we've been having I'm craving cool things.

At home, I put everything away but could not find the watermelon. Searched all over. Found it back in the car where it has rolled out of the bag and was tucked away in back of the tool bin in the back.

I have to make a decision about my insurance again. Do not understand those papers completely. They're trying to get us to change insurance companies. More money. The state insurance cannot be purchased if another company will take us within a certain % of the premium... and I need help comparing. It sure looked like to me like this other company's insurance is not as good. I don't know if I have a choice or not. Called my agent who is on vacation till Monday. So...I organized the papers and got a tablet ready for notes and now I wait.

Long conversation with my relative about her insurance... and she is not nearly as upset about it as DH and I are. Her insurance agent is working on it, and her present roofer will be coming back from vacation and we're hopeful he will help.

RRose, I love reading about how you are organizing everything. You sound like you're so efficient!

I have laundry to do but I might wait till tomorrow. Think I've done enough today.

I heard this has been the hottest June in a long while here. Yeah, tell me something I didn't know.

Wanted to tell Sunny that I have been watching news mindfully and sorta concerned about all the grandsons, mine and yours. Something to pray about nightly.

Harmony…wasn’t very productive this afternoon. Had tummy issues which slowed me down. And I still need to remake my bed, but Sweetie will help me.

I learned from P&P that if I can keep my house in order my home is more calm which helps me. However my floors…tile need to be cleaned and the same with my shower. But the more I organize, the more I want to do it. I’m just eating that elephant in my home on bite at a time

I recently read a very I interesting book The In-between. Think I wrote about it here and I will have to admit it has really changed my outlook on life in a big way. One of her patients were talking to her about the regrets she had in her life. Said she missed lunches with friends because the food didn’t meet her diet. Same with invitations to enjoy a night out to drink wine with her friends and when her girlfriends would give her a birthday party she always only ate the smallest piece of cake that she could.

Her advise as she faces her death… Eat the cake

I shared this insight with my girlfriend after she showed me a purse that she feel I love with, but cost $400. The next day she received new that her blood work showed possible cancer… she has been testing negative in the past. The next day she drove back to the shop and bought the purse which she proudly showed me
that brought her such joy. Perfect example of …Eat the cake!

Now I’m trying to find a piece of cake to eat each day :D

DD12 3-4 week old baby kitten is a boy. No one can believe it is surviving because it is so tiny and frail. It is a fighter for sure.

I am pleased with my effort to restart hourly movement. I was 85% successful. I messed up twice. One time I had company drop by and the hour passed without getting steps. The other hour I was chopping peppers in the kitchen and forgot that doesn't earn me any steps. I am looking forward to trying again tomorrow.
