it is always a joy to be here with you!

Re: Monday Make it PWYC
Back again, and I'm done with that work. I hope I have enough left to cook supper tonight, lol. I got what I'm doing in our bathroom done, and the powder room done, and dusting in our bedroom. There's so much dog hair and dust it's going all flyaway on me.
Tomorrow/Wednesday/Thursday I need to finish this up. Tomorrow I have a workout but dh is out. Wednesday I'm having lunch with dcousin, and Thursday I have both body work and a workout. Dh is away Friday-Sunday afternoon so I want to use that time for either crafting or genealogy or both. I do have a haircut on Friday a.m. though.
Ddog is insistent that she needs a walk, but it's raining again. She can go out in the rain in the backyard if she needs to go so badly.
Not storms right now, just rain. She will have to wait.
I'm going to walk through the house and erase some footprints. I know I've left some cleaning products sitting around, and I need to put bathroom rugs, etc. back down.

Re: Monday Make it PWYC
This morning I had wondered about joining in with challenges. But... ..
The storms (I think Twins' mentioned hers were early) changed a LOT around here. We have had blaring alarms/warnings from every device or communication, and calls from family/neighbors, too.
We did not ever lose electricity, but we did spend the day as though it might happen and got everything charged up, avoided some plans. I only got one tiny laundry load done, then thought better of continuing. Didn't want to have a load in and soapy, waiting for hours on a rinse, or whatever.
When ds's family was over the other night, we talked at length about dgdC's adorable pigtails. The conversation went to a favorite book character!
So, I ordered a 3-book set in one volume of the Pippi Longstocking series and was able to take it over and surprise her with it. I know her mother will be pleased because she was sharing with me how much she had enjoyed it, as I had. DgdC has now turned 8 (I know!), so definitely time to learn all about the horse, the monkey and Villa Villekulla.

Re: Monday Make it PWYC
RRose, I hope your bug bites are healing and not so itchy. Did you have bugs like that in AZ? We don't get many no see-ums here because we are not on a lake or canal. People in those places have to use the closer knit material on their porches. We just come in at dusk. Grow eucalyptis (sp?) around your house, that's supposed to help. I heard on the news there was a case of malaria in our county/town and a couple in the county north of us. I've never heard of that before this year. Maybe they're not spraying enough these days?
I did not sleep very much last night and I was very tired all day today. Very unproductive day as a result. I hope tonight is better.
Spent a while looking at those insurance papers and I think I have them sorted out. They are not what I originally thought. Not that it's good news, but tells me next year will be even more expensive with another company.
I ordered an Rx and need to go pick it up. I will test first before I go out and make sure it is ok to go.
Speaking of learning, I always wanted to get a 10th grade text book from the library and learn a subject that I did horrible at in high school. Have no reason to learn this stuff, will not be using it, just think it would be interesting to go back and have a do-over. Someday I may still do that.

Re: Monday Make it PWYC
Well, I finally made it HERE -- and it's only 49 minutes past midnight!
I just had to check in and let y'all know I actually DID have a 2nd consecutive productive day!
TOP PRIORITIES were --
[ /] Meet dmom to help her fill up her car
(She cancelled because it was so rainy today, said she had 70 miles remaining in her car. She said this could wait till Wednesday.)
[/] drug store
I cancelled because dh will need to go after doctor's appt Thursday & my refill can wait.* clean air filters
[x] Iron dh's clothes
[x] BIG church meeting re: disaffiliation
Meeting went well, IMHO, most seem very much in favor of starting process to prepare for vote.
DH kept dgd while the rest of us went to the meeting, dgs included.
[ ] WHB
Nope, that didn't happen. I was MUCH too ambitious.
[x] finish laundry (my clothes)
Malaria! Wow! Hope you ladies stay safe from that! (((HUGS))) Rose, and lots of "feel better soon" wishes!
Pippi Longstocking sounds perfect for your dgd, Harriet!
(((HUGS))) for you and dd12, LadyM... such a hard age... 12 or 13 is about the time my dmom says "one or both of us was crying every morning before (I) went to school." I know the situation with dd46 has to make all this so much more complicated.
Re: church -- the overnight church "camp" trip for dgs is set for this Friday. DS cannot go, but he and ddil agreed that it would be fine for ds to stay in the boys' room with our (female) pastor, and one of the girls' moms will stay with the two girls who go. There are only three attending, but the pastor feels strongly that this is the way to end the confirmation class, and Sunday is their last meeting. With school starting this week, and "promotion Sunday" coming up this week, she is anxious to get this completed. They will be gone less than 24 hours but it will be dgs' first night away from home except with his grandparents. I hope he makes it okay.
