I started a post downstairs and forgot to post it, and I'm upstairs now.

Dh just got home from Torah study. I'm going to encourage him to go do something this weekend. He is going to be bored to tears. I'll try to assemble a "honey do" list for him too.

I walked the dog a couple of laps earlier and talked to a couple of neighbors. I've been working with dMillie and having her sit when another dog comes through. She's done well, but she failed today with her nemesis. At this point I only need a couple of hundred steps to meet my weekly goal, so I'm not pushing myself. With the cleaning I did yesterday I had over 12K steps yesterday and I felt it.

Wonder if RR is hunkered down in front of the TV now? Vols on soon! And Lucylee's team is on later today, she'll be sitting in the heat!

Happy Birthday to Nancy!

Dh keeps asking how I'm feeling and asked earlier when I'm going to test again.

Our heat has moderated. Highest I'm seeing in the next ten days is 92. Of course, that may not be accurate. I'm watching for Sept 16 which is Rosh Hashanah, hoping our friends will spill over to the yard too.

Hello everyone. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY.

I have just been puttering around today. I just cleaned out a desk drawer, expired coupons, stuff like that a lot of stuff tossed and the rest organized. I am thinking about tomorrow being the day I gather up all the garbage. I am going to clean up the dining room table next. All the stuff from when I painted our signs is still there. Right after that is when we got sick, so it never got cleaned up. I filed probably 6 months of receipts and papers. There isn't as much as there used to be.

Pulled out the house plastic file box to add a receipt (we keep a record of when we do work on the house, and the plumber was here changing filters on the RO system). I noted that the bottom of that closet was really bad with dust bunnies and dirt. Baseboards, walls, floor now cleaned. I don't remember doing that for a long long time. It's kinda hard to see unless I am down on my hands and knees like I was this morning. Ok, now to the dining room.

We have no plans otherwise for the day. It is 94 here today and sunny. Kathryn, I hope you have nice weather for the rest of your time up there and for your trip home. We should all enjoy our warm weather because pretty soon it will be gone.

I have been washing the floors again with a lot of bleach this time. The house seems to smell to me. Dh says it's fine. I'm deep cleaning the litter boxes as well. I might need to do the floor around the front of the toilet with shaving cream. (White foaming stuff. Squirt some on the floor, rub it around to spread it out. Leave for a few minutes and wipe it up.)

I've done the bedroom from the side of the bed to the door. Back hall has been done. Area of kitchen under the table and most of that end of the room. Bathroom has been done. Even with the litter box done and the window open, I think it smells.

I've done some dishes in the sink, with all of the sharp knives getting washed. Dh uses 5 or 6 a day, plus 2 cutting boards. I think he must think we have a house fairy or a cleaning fairy or something.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

my stomach is still bothering me - I could sleep but I am a bit far behind plus the dogs need exercise.

I've played with the dogs a couple times
fed the birds, watered some areas in front
opened a new rose that I purchased awhile back. (it came in 2 days ago)

next water the bird baths
clean out the dogs pool
water the pots and trees that the new drip system is not working on.

hi d cathy - that floor looks beautifully clean!
hello d harmony!
yay on your work as well!

ooo whoooooo yay d twins. I think I will put on my timer as well!
nothing better than a to do list for us and a honey do list for our sweet husbands.
lol I wonder if your dh needs to test again himself? - I always find that when my dh is worried about something that he asks me how I am feeling or what he feels is needing to be done.

I have been asking dh to help with some jobs - he said yes and hasn't been following through. it's okay - he seems like he means it but it doesn't get done. He puts up with me so I can let this slide.

I asked dh to cut down the leftover sunflowers, only 2 huge ones) as they have reached their end. I can see that this job is going to be transferred to me.
okey dokey time to get back outside even though I don't feel like it.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Don't overwork yourself blessed.

I am just about ready to jump in the shower. I helped DH in his, I wash his back because he can't reach around or over his shoulders with his arms the way they are. He has a long handled brush but can no longer use it.

He came in and got me needing help outside. Remember the canoe he dragged home after the hurricane? He decided it was too much work to fix and he tried a few times to give it away and nobody wants it because the back end is gone. He tried to take it to the recycling place but it was too long they wouldn't take it. So he came home and started working on it. He took off the metal around the top (screws) and then we cut it into sections. I thought it was fiberglass but DH says no it is plastic. We filled the garbage bin with the pieces and he cut all the metal in shorter pieces to take to the reuse place. He's been out there all day so far. I was out there since I last posted. We are both all over red dust. We cleaned up the driveway.

Sigh...I hope he stops doing stuff like this. He's making a lot of work for us.

I sent DH ahead to his alumni gathering with the intention of joining him later. However, as I was driving there, he was headed home after only staying an hour. So that yearly event is crossed off my to-do list.

I won the bid on a quilt at the silent auction. It is beautiful and I'm stunned that no one else bid on it. It was in a corner and I'm guessing most people didn't see it. I put down a $50 bid to get the bids started and expect to pay many times more than that. The material to make the quilt cost more than $50 not counting the time and talent. I don't know who made the quilt, but I feel weird that it went for that low bid. I hope their feelings aren't hurt.

Joining Kathryn in some baking. Glad to read she's enjoying the time.

Unusual for me today - I made homemade biscuits. Haven't done it in a while. It's a heavy decision (lol) although I substitute some (not all) almond milk for dairy. Today I had some leftover sour cream I didn't want to waste, and remembered reading that it will add the taste buttermilk does, and yes, we did think they had that classic buttermilk taste.

Into the (biscuit) weeds - On the finer (old, perhaps Southern?) points, I don't know if anyone else even knows what I'm talking about, but here goes. Although I do roll out to at least 3/4 inch and cut, I make "cat's head" biscuits, which is an old way of saying large diameter, 4 inches or so. And I use fork tines to prick twice. Why? Because my Mama did. (Actually, I think it's supposed to keep them from rising so fast they tear or "burst" open like a gash across the top. Or something. Mine will still tear sometimes.) Mama used to joke that she wouldn't want anyone thinking her biscuits were so good she must have bought them at a store, so she pricked the top and that way she got credit.

Thank you for the shaving cream tip, Cathy.

Oh, LadyM, although it is wonderful that you will have the quilt, since you will surely care for it, I agree that I hope no one's feelings were hurt. It would be nice if you could ask around and find out something about the quilt, if you really think it was made in your area.
