hell d harriet enjoy your baking! biscuits sound great
hi d lady im glad you get some time before the fair
thrilled that you won the quilt - I think there must of been a lot of nice things there to bid on
hi d Nancy
enjoy your grandson time
hi d harmony - thank you!
its so nice that you do that for him - I am sure he really appreciates it!
hoping your dh takes it easier
I was disappointed that they put commercials in instead of jump! they showed 5 seconds of it.
ok I sat enough - the game isn't over but its time to be productive

Re: Sunny, stormy, Saturday!
Thanks you for all the birthday wishes!
I fed dgson he napped on the floor after lunch. He will be 21 in a couple weeks some things you never outgrow!
I gave him a loaf of banana bread & package of donuts & his care packages.
I got the pumpkin bread frozen also the carrot cake it was 1/4 th of a 9x13" no nuts.
I had a tomato and got the veg washed.
Went to the camp ground to visit with dson & dgd.
On my way home stopped by the fabric store and got some butterfly print canvas to have fun with later.
Got it prewashed.
Watering the front now.

Re: Sunny, stormy, Saturday!
Our green-eyed boy drove his four-wheeler over with his little sister on the back and they helped me fertilize and water part of the garden beds. We had apple and popsicle, so all the food groups were covered. The Impatiens' seed pods are at the point of opening and they're on a hair-trigger, so both kids enjoyed having a few POP in their hands.
Discussed the new school year at length. DgdC is still in a single-classroom-teacher situation only, and has a 21-year veteran teacher, so I know my dmother would be so pleased to hear that. Dgson, of course, is walking all over his new, large middle-school in his first year out of elementary, but he says he likes the adventure of it. He's going to learn about Egypt, geometry and arm-wrestling, he says. I am content to have no opinion except optimism - just glad to get to be the listener he tells about it.
Nancy, that's so sweet that he just took a nap at your house, lol.
HRH is back into the biscuits, making an egg and tomato biscuit now. I appreciate the encouragement, but we better not do this often. Some very filling meals.

OMG Harriet! I was reading too fast and I read that your green-eyed boy drove his four wheeler over his little sister.
So I immediately went back and re-read, grateful to read what I missed. Interesting curriculum, I must say.
We are both bushed after our work outside, DH had much more time out there than I did and unfortunately, he fell over the power saw which I'm sure he put down in his way. I guess he didn't get hurt much, nothing's bleeding and he's limping along as usual. I washed our work clothes in the stainless steel kitchen sink because I didn't want them staining the washer or the plastic washing bin in the laundry room. Ran them through the spin cycle in the washer after that and hung them outside to dry.
I was grateful for leftovers to feed us today. I have a rotisserie chicken I'd cut up, I baked extra sweet potatoes yesterday so we'd have some today, and the cauliflower I put in the steamer was so HUGE there was a lot left. I had some pudding here for dessert. We had lots of calories.
I have clothes out for church tomorrow. My elderly friend is not coming tomorrow because her son and d-in-law are here visiting. I'm glad her family keeps track of her a little bit. Nobody lives close by so they're not here often.
I have to-da's for our decluttering thread.

Dh is watching a CFL game here. B.C. Lions vs. Montreal Alouettes. Montreal is ahead by 1 point at the moment. Lots of CFL games to be watched over the next 48 hours. Toronto Argonauts vs. Hamilton Tiger Cats on Monday is a VERY important game as they are very close to each other. Just an hour's drive apart, depending on traffic.
I'm extremely happy that Kathryn isn't in Hay River this week. They are having some horrible fires and really bad smoke. I'm also somewhat jealous as there is a possibility that she might see some Northern Lights where she is tonight.
Happy Birthday Nancy.

Re: Sunny, stormy, Saturday!
Cathy I'm coming home from Hay Lake, on the eastern side of Algonquin Park, not Hay River. The person we know who lives in Hay River has been evacuated out for weeks now, and I have wondered if they evacuated to Yellowknife and had to evacuate a second time.
Aside from cold, the weather has been great these past 9 days.
Dh and I went for a long walk this afternoon, 80 minutes up and down steep hills and I was very hot when we got back. It is windy here on the water but on the road the wind was caught by the forest and so the bugs were bad for dh who attracts them. I did my stretching on the porch and had to come in after because I was cold.
There were fireworks tonight across the lake so I went down to the water to see those. Too many trees to see from here.
I've half packed the food so I'm mentally starting the leaving. I'm back by myself in 17 days so it is not a long goodbye! In the meantime I have to solve my computer issues.

Happy birthday, Nancy! I’m so late getting here!
We’re home, and we had a good trip, but my goodness I’m tired.
