LadyM -- that is amazing how the land deal worked out for you! :D

Y'all -- gosh, I feel like I have been gone for a month! It's only been three days since I last posted, I think, but I have had no energy when I had time to post and no time when I had energy. Talking about sleep... there's a letter in Dear Abby today about a woman who sleeps constantly, two days solid, etc... DH asked me did I see his letter. (He was joking!) Abby says the woman needs to see a psychiatrist, she is obviously showing signs of severe depression.
I don't think I am depressed. But I sure do need a lot of sleep.

I've been trying to cuop, however, and I did see where LadyM's ds had the horrible cut on his hand! Hope that is doing okay, LadyM. I also admire your hour-by-hour scheduling and goals. I'd hate for y'all to see my day hour-by-hour.

Also -- the wedding does sound perfect, Kathryn. Our wedding was almost that small. We only invited family -- parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles. We only had first cousins who still lived at home, which meant only my four, who were all age 13 and under. Of course, my brother was ring bearer and he was 8. In addition, we had an organist, my third cousin who sang, her parents, and my best friend/maid of honor, and her parents.
It was indoors at my church, dh's uncle married us, and we had the reception next door at my grandparents' house.
Part of my reason for wanting a small wedding was probably very much like your dil -- I was very nervous too, social anxiety, whatever you want to call it, and anticipating events has NEVER been my strong suit. I especially didn't want a lot of preparation judging from the way my ddad was acting re: the whole thing anyway.
And dh didn't really want any of his cousins there, because -- although he loves them all very much -- they were notorious for disrupting the going-away part of each other's weddings and he didn't want to deal with them. Truth be told, he probably has some social anxiety too; he never really enjoys large gatherings and like me, never wants to be the center of attention.
We have definitely never regretted having a small wedding!

Twins -- I need to tell you WTG on getting your steps in!!! I managed to get over 7000 Saturday, but otherwise, my totals are truly embarrassing. I've got to get serious before my weight hits a new high.

(((Rose))) At least you have Covid as an excuse for lack of energy!

I bet those plums are delicious, Nancy! My grandparents used to have some plum trees.

(((Blessed))) I'm so sorry your dcat is having such problems.

Cathy! I am so impressed with your DIY work!!! Would you be interested in taking a job in South Alabama?

(((Mystery))) -- sending lots of good wishes that you get the medical issues worked out for dkids.

And Harriet -- home baked treats for Halloween sound so neat! You're right -- these grands grow up so quickly. DGS11 doesn't want to dress up anymore or anything.
I certainly have nothing smart to add to the sleep conversation. I do too much of it, probably, but one of my sleep apps says I'm averaging 6.5 hours per night, and less than 6 hours last night. So no wonder I need a nap all the time. OTOH -- the other sleep app says I got 9 hours and 28 minutes last night!  (Oh -- it also says 7 hours, 11 minutes "restful sleep.")
It also says I haven't gotten 8 hours "restful" sleep at any time in the past week, except Monday night, and I know that is not right, because it says I was still asleep after 10:00 a.m., and that was not true Monday. I don't trust this one at all. This one does show "readiness" which I've seen you talk about, LadyM. According to this app, I was at 36 readiness, Friday, and 50 today. Sat-Mon range from 61-66, and yesterday was 80. But I obviously didn't take advantage of it yesterday, because I slept nearly all day. I think it thinks I'm sleeping when I'm lying in bed, watching tv or reading.
Neither of these are recording nap time -- which is a function I really miss from my FitBit. These are on my phone and apple watch.

So anyway -- what have I been doing when I wasn't sleeping the past three days?
First -- we arrived at College Town, started unloading the car, and dh discovered the bathroom ceiling is covered with spots of mold, water is dripping from the light fixture, and the floor is wet. Mold spots all over the toilet, part of the bathroom cabinet under the sink, and behind the toilet.
Thank goodness we were there before maintenance closed. We called and they sent a man out, who discovered the source of the leak: the upstairs neighbor had a leaking toilet. He turned off their water in that bathroom and advised us to call ServPro -- people who specialize in cleanup after this kind of damage.
Turns out it IS our responsibility -- as OWNERS and not RENTERS, we are responsible for this mess. Possibly the upstairs people's insurance will cover it, since we did nothing to cause it.
We sprayed Clorox, opened the windows, turned on the fans, and tried to air it out... dh almost got sick from the Clorox smell... finally able to sleep.
Tuesday morning, call the HOA again, they give me the phone number and name of the upstairs neighbor, but say I have to call them, it is not the HOA responsibility...
Well -- y'all can just imagine how I hated to make that call -- but it turned out fine, the lady was very nice to me, offered to call her insurance company to see if it would be covered on their policy, we talked a while -- her daughter and our dniece were friends, had several classes together, etc. (BTW -- she arrived in College Town to find out her AC wasn't working either, Blessed, and her water was "mysteriously" cut off, so she had problems of her own. At least we had air.)
By Tuesday afternoon, however, her agent/adjuster called and said nope, it was not covered on her policy -- it was not an issue of neglect or purposeful action on her part, just one of those things that happen...
Grrrr...
So today, I've been to talk to our agent. Fortunately, I guess, we both have the same company, so maybe it will be easier for them to work with the people in College Town. We filed a claim and they will send the adjuster out there to see how much damage they will cover. Our deductible is $1000, so no matter what, it's going to cost us and dbil $500 each. My goodness. What a mess.

Then, before we even got to College Town, we have a phone call from dh's cousin. He and his wife, and his brother, are all coming to town the week of the 18th to spend "maybe three nights" while they work on a family cemetery they just recently became caretakers of. We hope he and his wife will stay with dbil as they did the last time they were here, and we'll get the brother who is by himself... but either way, he will end up seeing the bathroom with the peeling wallpaper and all the shutters that need replacing and the ceiling that needs repair and * aaaugghh * I just do not look forward to this at all.

So maybe I am trying to sleep away the mental stress of all this?

The rest of my time has been spent with dgrands, who were with us from around noon Friday till after supper Monday. We enjoyed our Labor Day outing -- to what used to be a family reunion for half the county -- a HUGE political rally, with musical entertainment and chicken stew, fried fish, bbq chicken, and hot dogs. Now it has become a small gathering with a bit of musicians and a chicken stew sale. The stew is still The Best Ever, but the politicians don't show up like they used to, because the crowd doesn't show up like they used to. It's kinda sad. DH's mom was a member of the family that started this, some of the first settlers in our county. The Labor Day picnic started in 1960 and has seen several governors make appearances, but now it's really dwindling away.
DGD had a great time, however. One of her classmates was there and they ran around and played (even danced to one song, if you can call the jumping up and down they did "dancing," LOL.)

I did very very little yesterday, but finally started the laundry and I'm finishing that up today.
Sheets are in the dryer, need to put clean sheets on the bed.
I did wash dishes.
DH and I went to church tonight.
Tomorrow dh and I are both getting haircuts, and I will need to iron his clothes.
Thank goodness we are home this weekend. * Although our ballgame doesn't start till 9:00 pm CST Saturday night!!! We are playing in California and it's a night game for them. DGS has a part in the program at church Sunday for Grandparents' Day so it will still be a late night for him, but truthfully, probably no later than usual.

Anyway, I've missed checking in with you ladies, and I hope to get back on track a little bit. Maybe posting will encourage me to actually DO something to tell about. ;)
Tomorrow is another day.

Sleep. Who sleeps? I was awake looking at the clock every 2 hours all night long. I think the rollers in my hair were uncomfortable and kept waking me.

Busy busy day. I am still catching up on my energy from having Covid. It is better but not 100% yet...as if MY 100% was anywhere near normal energy. I met my DGF for lunch...we do this around our birthdays and the storm has made mine late this year. She is not doing well and I felt sad when I sat there with her. I ran some errands before going to the restaurant. I got DH's Rx because later the pharmacist would be off on lunch break by the time our lunch was over. I took DH's return back to HD. After lunch I filled the car up with gas and then I got groceries. By the time I got home and unloaded everything and put it all away I was completely out of energy and had to have a long nap. DH came in from youth group and made something for dinner. I hadn't managed to make him anything.

I answered a letter tonight and tidied up the kitchen. Full day.

LadyM, what are you using the caramel sauce on? Oooh, put it on vanilla ice cream! :P

Ok, everybody sleep well tonight.

Wouldn't actual sleeping for two days be more likely to have a physical cause? Sounds like symptoms of some diseases or syndromes.

So the Fitbit brand does count daytime naps? That would be more accurate. Before my Garmin went blank on sleep report this morning it briefly flashed info of, I think, 3 total but 2 of that awake. Can't swear to it, because it disappeared and has not been replaced. I got this one, which is genuinely helpful no matter how I critique it, because dd42 changed to an apple watch and gave this to me. The Garmin tracks movement through the night too - that's interesting.

We enjoyed the visit from an old friend. Before he came I got 2 hours nap so maybe tonight can resemble normal sleep. Just waiting on a thick cloth bath mat to finish in dryer. Poor Tobias made it to the bathroom (he's the conscientious type) and vomited mostly on the tile but some on this.

Sorry to hear, blessed, that you have a sick pet and I hope the meds make a change.

Baking ,- perfectionism threatens kitchen creativity sometimes. I went looking simply for a type of icing technique and was caught up in SO many adorable ideas. The Internet is treacherous.

I think my Fitbit recorded anything over 30 min.
Tomorrow is another day.
