And (((ROSE))) Credit card mess ups are sooo frustrating. Plus buying tires... not something you look forward to, either!
(BTW -- my dmom says her hair is coming in dark again underneath, on the back of her head.)
AND (((Kathryn)))... frustrating customer service. That is ridiculous that she can't take your money but she CAN * after * you lose the bonus?
AND (((Twins))) for frustrating dh and trip plans...
WHAT IS UP WITH ALL THESE PEOPLE??? We aren't under a full moon, are we?
I think it is that (1) the world is going crazy and (2) since Covid, no one really wants to work anymore. Sigh.
(((Elizabeth))) so sad about dRamsey.
I was encouraged by the behavior of two trucks coming into town this morning. There was a little dog going back and forth in the street, just a few blocks out of the town square, and I was so afraid he was going to dart in front of me... and then I met two diesel trucks and I just knew one of them would hit him, but I could see the one in front slowing... s l o w i n g... and I think they both passed the dog safely. This was just out of town and the speed limit is about 30 mph there, but a lot of people go faster till they see the first red light.
Blessed, I can sooo relate to what you are saying about feeling sluggish after you ate too much. I am exactly like that. I have been waiting and eating breakfast later (I mean like after noon or so!) the past couple days, and I really feel better and have more energy, before I stop to eat. I know in my case, if I eat too many carbs, I'll get that sugar rush and then a BIG hypoglycemic crash. I mean, I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia... but it is just too much effort and/or I don't like the high protein foods that are available for breakfast, so I am kinda experimenting with later breakfast, and maybe a "second breakfast" a couple hours or so later, with cheese, deli turkey, and crackers -- which works pretty well if I don't overdo on the crackers.
But any big meal will do this to me. Last night I had a pork potato -- much like LadyM is preparing, I think --
BIG baked potato, pulled pork, cheese, bacon bits, chives (no butter/sour cream, because I don't like it)... and a small serving of baked beans... and five (I think) hush puppies from dgs' plate. (He didn't want them.) AND a slice of coconut pie.
I had to take a nap an hour later.
Waving hello to EVERYONE!!! LadyM, Cathy, Nancy, Mystery (hope your dd feels better soon!)
Looks like you are ALL doing a lot better than me at keeping up with all the * stuff. *
Well, I'm not going to say it can't get worse because that is just asking for trouble...
A lot I could be doing around here to prep for cousin's visit, but OTOH, part of me leans into dh's philosophy. People should not just invite themselves for a three day/night stay. (His brother once invited himself and stayed SEVEN days/nights with us, along with his wife and two children!)
IMHO, if someone wants to visit, they should call and say, "Hey, we've got to be in town for a few days next week to take care of some estate stuff. We'll get a hotel and call y'all when we get there, maybe go out and eat..."
and THIS gives the gracious Southern belle hostess the opportunity to say, "Of course you will not get a hotel! Y'all come on and stay with us..."
OR... the stressed-out not-so gracious Southerner could say, "That's great! Just call us as soon as you get to town and we'll meet y'all at _____"
I guess I should go double check the bedroom, put sheets on the bed, and make sure it doesn't need any extra cleaning.
Also would like to go ahead and get packed for the weekend because tomorrow may be super-hectic.
