Haven't really cuop, but thanks for all the hugs and good wishes. Dmom is managing ok. They are giving her antibiotics and pain meds and she’s in a private room right next to the nurse’s desk, so I came home after they got her settled in the room.
I’m exhausted though. Sat in ER room from about 9:30 this morning till 6:00 pm.
It was freezing cold in there too! And I forgot to take a jacket.

I made it through the day.
I spent the afternoon, after tidying and dealing with the visitor, writing up the evaluation goals and then acting as a referee at choir. Sadly, it has come to this because no-one is listening to anyone and people are griping, making choir as much fun as Cathy's craft group. The principals have now been told not to email anyone. Complaints have to be made in person to me or another member of the personnel committee. We will listen and take notes.
Sound makes up a large portion of the 'issues' that are fixable (as opposed to personality based) and I solved that problem in the rehearsal room by simply putting the piano's cover over the sound board to muffle it. Now to get the mike pulled from the grand piano in the sanctuary. At least, by listening, I learned why it is miked. But that was because of a previous music director who played quietly. Our current one doesn't, so let's try things without a mike.
The biggest blessing is our new minister came by to sit in for choir practice. He has a lovely bass voice and (as someone had emailed me) a wonderful sense of calm. But he's no pushover, at the end (after there was an objection to something the music director was trying as a group exercise) he was firm in setting out expectations, among them requiring a job description for each volunteer in the church and each committee, and that music would be integral to his worship and to pull that off, he expected everyone at church an hour ahead of time so they could rehearse in the sanctuary. If the choir is upset with the music director, they're going to be appalled at this guy coming in and changing things up.
I, on the other hand, am shouting hallelujah! Honestly, during the afternoon when I was reading through guidelines for my committee, I found the line that volunteers should also have job descriptions. This will help everyone step back and not tread on so many toes, both other volunteers but also our paid staff.
Tomorrow, dgs6 wants me to go to the museum with him (after his doctor's appointment) and I have to decide if I have the time. Barely. I also have to not forget to make a loaf of sandwiches for our current pastor's leaving luncheon.

Hi everyone! Technically it is no longer Thursday because it is a minute after midnight. I still feels like Thursday so I am here rather than starting a new day. These are the items remaining on the daily list: shower, cat water, set out clothes, and pack work bag for tomorrow and put it in the car. I have consolidated several lists and it is not as bad as I thought.
I told DD21 I am not cancelling any of the fun I had scheduled for my parents, but gave her the option of not hosting me. She wants me to come and bring gluten free pizza dough, which is not available there. I have not decided whether I will take the camper or stay on her futon. (I have a rule with DD - I do not come unless invited).
I am not sure if I really have a cat colony here. I have seen only two cats the entire year. The arroyo with the ditch houses a pack of coyotes. During the 12 years I have lived here I have seen 5 outdoor cats, of which two were escaped indoor cats returned to their people. Ruth was named after the Biblical Ruth because, like Boaz, I want her gleaning on my property so she will be safe. I think she is a dilute calico and a male calico is quite a rarity. I have not seen her in about a week.
