Kathryn - How are you doing with the transition from lake living to your home? I have been thinking of some of the possibilities and the benefits you will have available with both living places next year. It isn't something I can do in my current phase of life, so I am in dream mode with my thoughts.

Monthly tasks accomplished -
** electrolyte mixture made, and 60 daily portions are ready for next month.
** cash on hand has been counted and organized. We made a list of various denominations that needed to be restocked and got them from the bank.

I have been working on meal prep for myself.
** 30 portion size servings of Smoothie dry ingredients assembled.
** 5 meals of sweet potatoes & hamburger made, measured & put into meals size containers.
** 2 meals of green beans and chicken weighed & put into containers.
** 14 eggs hard boiled and made into deviled eggs. I put 4 of them aside for myself and expect the family will consume the rest of them.
** 7 Wasa cracker & laughing cow cheese wedges packaged for easy grab & go.

hello all. The vegetable bed has been emptied (except of poblanos and parsley). I added some Biotone , manure and compost to the bed. I planted lettuce, garlic and spinach.
I am trying to grow winter wheat - that will be an interesting experiment.

hello d harmony! I understand this! I struggle with my inability to get out doing things like I used to do.I also feel guilty leaving dh behind if I go places. I understand this completely.
I wonder if you are having a sun rash -
sending you hope and purpose that you can grow with!

oh my goodness the neighborhood meetings are so so hard! So many people with opinions - this sounds bad - but some talking on and on instead of getting to point. Sometimes without coming to decision that helps all.
I am so sorry your dd isn't feeling well! Hope she feels better fast!!!

play with the dogs - I am surprised that I don't have hulk like muscles in my right arm as all I seem to do is toss a ball/stick/toy or what ever the dogs want to play with.

I have finished walk with ddoggo used the b & w umbrella with a good handle.
It was sprinkling out.
Harmony ~Most think diab. get 4 dr. visits a year, or need it to keep tabs on A1C bs rx etc.
sigh it IS a lot.

hello d Nancy! glad you had a nice walk with y0our dog! (even with the rain).

I hadn't planned on working outside as long as I did - wheat is planted (about 2 -1/2 lbs. of winter wheat seed). I am experimenting.
lettuce/spinach transplanted
removed last tomato as the cold is coming and the fruit on it is not ripening.
garlic is planted.
right now I have the sprinkler on the wheat.
compost put on the wheat.

I should start on the house but I have 2 potted plants that need putting in to the ground: . 1 climbing rose, 1 white nepata,

poor dd younger called - her toilet flooded and it went in the hall downstairs and upstairs and she doesn't know why there is so much water in the hall outside their apartment. poor thing. She can laugh but I think the stress of getting my d mom here is overwhelming her a bit. Mom is overpacked/then not packed. She can't find a plunger.
I told her she will have to call downstairs (even though embarrassing to a young person) and get some help to wet vac the rugs in the hall before the water goes elsewhere.

Nancy, do you go 4x a year? It would be manageable if DH wasn't also going to the dermatologist, the orthopedic surgeon, every week or two to the dentist for all that work, along with the GP. Each time he goes he has to do a fasting blood test a week or so before the office visit. One of these days...there will be neurologist to add to the list. Maybe if he was able to manage to keep track of all this himself I wouldn't be so overwhelmed. I have to keep track of his AND mine. New on our plate: one of his hearing aids isn't working properly and we should be going to the audio clinic at the VA. That's an hour trip and a long wait. Then, usually he has to send it away to be fixed and it takes a couple weeks to get it back. He has a dentist appointment next week, then one more of those.

I need to find an ear dr. myself. And go to the dermatologist. On my schedule in the future is my GP plus testing for that, and the neurologist. Our pharmacy, the one I go to with the coupons for 2 of our Rx's is closing. I've just done a search for the next cheapest place to use... and it's closer to me, but it means I have to go to the expensive pharmacy they transferred our records to and have the prescriptions transferred. Now I understand why they were pushing me to get my last Rx picked up when I couldn't get out because we were sick. I'm glad I at least got 3 months' worth for us both, so I have time to get this accomplished.

Sad news from my gfriend in next town. I hadn't heard from her and I was concerned. Her son and his girlfriend have split up and he will be coming back here. They have a little baby girl not 6 months old yet. I'm so sad for them.

Think I'll take a break. It's raining hard. DH got his edger going for about 20 minutes then it refused to work again. He has said he'll do it by hand. This is too hard work for him. But he got rained out so far. Not the greatest day here so far. At least I did get all the spreadsheets caught up through this month and I did the payroll reports...all $0's again.

DH and I teamed up to prepare the communion trays for tomorrow. This is our first time doing it since attending this church. I'm responsible for doing it for all the services in the month of October. It was easy to fill the juice cups & wafer trays, but it is just a matter of remembering to stay up with them before, in between and after the services.

DS15, DD12 and I went to the city to get DS15 dirt bike tire repaired. DS15 is starting to feel the stress of financially supporting multiple vehicles. We have tried to tell him the more STUFF he buys then the more STUFF he must maintain. It is a life lesson that almost everyone has to learn. His entire two weeks of paychecks went to paying for a tire to be repaired and having his Duramax analyzed for problems.

While we were waiting for the tire repair we went to WM and got a few items on the shopping list. On the way home I stopped by a local place and brought food home for the family to eat tonight.

It is a rainy cool day here had to put on a sweater 60* is our high temp. for today.
Grass is going I watched it for a bit lol!

Got one blanket fringed, & put it in the gift tote.

Well, after obsessing a bit over whether I looked okay, whether I should curl my hair, that sort of thing, I drove near the driveway of the meeting place, to where I could park and not bother anyone, and then walked the rest of the way to the meeting. I was not wanting to get stuck behind a lot of cars and unable to leave when I chose. That worked out fine, although I didn't rush to leave.

3 times I counted, and yes, 28 people plus two dogs, which wouldn't have seemed so overwhelming except that we were meeting at someone's home. It was okay, but it got hot and humid in that LR, you know? The main speaker droned on too long and got off topic, secondary speaker was too brief. Various people were irritable, bored, frustrated. But mostly it was a very civil if not congenial neighborhood meeting. The speakers were video recorded for anyone who didn't get there. I was proud of my older kids who got there, not taking up extra time, just listening and thanking the hosts.

Back home, HRH had made dd25 a banana freeze in the nutri bullet and she did have about half of that. Unfortunately, they then spilled the entire rest of the ice container from the freezer onto the floor. (Not sure how they managed that.)

I can't believe it's no later than this - I feel like i've had a long, hard day, lol. I wonder if I could get up the gumption to start any small project.

Oh, btw, last evening dd25 and I made supper together and watched the first episode of GBBS '23 and it was so much fun. Vertical cake ... .. hmmm.
