I'm home from workout. Good workout - but had trainer that I rarely see. She's just there mornings so she frequently works dh out. Was a good workout but she didn't know me well enough to push a little harder. It was a decent workout nonetheless - more stretching than I usually do but it's nice that they're all a little different.

While out I went to the post office and cleaners. Dh's clothes weren't ready so he'll have to pick up later. I stopped at a bakery and got a pumpkin cake bite and it was amazing. A wonderful little treat for $1.35.

I had lunch when I got here and now I'm heading upstairs. I should do HOA checks today but am waiting until tomorrow. I just don't want to do them today (stamping foot.)

hello dear everyone!

I have to pick up mom at 2:00 to get her car washed - she doesn't drive anymore and I am driving her around in her car and she mentioned it needed washing even though "she is not allowed to drive" and "have you asked your brother if it's okay" my brother gave me the car to drive her around and she is convinced it's okay for him to drive it but not okay for me to drive bc of insurance.

dd younger is seeing my d niece and her daughter and her dog is staying here. I want to take a nap but won't. allergies are hitting me too.

I got a holiday puzzle that I am telling everyone that if they want to do it, they can. The puzzle is open and waiting for anyone to use it.

This was DS15 official 1st workout with the personal trainer. We have been waiting for an opening in her schedule. I paid for 8 weeks ($175) and then we will evaluate whether to continue his one-on-one sessions with her. She has put him on 4 workouts a week schedule. One upper body workout, one lower body workout and two cardio workouts. The personal trainer stays right next to him the entire hour and gives detailed instructions on how to safely use weights and machines and gives feedback about his body posture while exercising. She is also going to work with DS15 on improving his nutrition. I walked up at the end of their session and heard her tell DS15 to cut ketchup out. He can still have French fries but no ketchup. While we were driving home DS15 was talking though this challenge....he is stumped how he can eat French fries without ketchup. They suddenly lost their appeal to him, and he said he will just stop eating French fries. I'm just driving and smiling and not saying a word. I love love LOVE DS15 having a mentor to guide his food selection. I told the personal trainer that my goal for these sessions is for DS15 to learn lifeskills he can use for the rest of his life. I want him to be knowledgeable on how to safely & effectively exercise. The nutritional part is a bonus.

I have had my no cook lunch it is no cook week so far lol! dishes are soaking till dinner dish is added. It will be quieter in a bit as I have hear mower going on the street behind me that is good.
Sun has broken through so that was great to see.
Sneezing has calmed down yea.

Time to consider getting the truck I gifted to dgd off my policy new year as the rates have went up.

No rain yet got my walk in done it cloud up again.
Desk duty is 99% done now.
Called to check and ins. for Rx. no needed changes so happy to not have to wait on that call and talked with a real person right away.
Got vote penciled in.
Put Ins. cards in the rigs.
Trying to get the last 10% of my steps in for the day now. done!
Had dinner did dishes & put em away.

The comments on the allrecipes site make me laugh. "I didn't have salsa, so I used spaghetti sauce, I didn't have taco seasoning, so I used oregano, I didn't have green onions, so I used white ones, I didn't have refired beans, so I used white kidney beans, I didn't have ground beef, so I used chicken..." Guess what, you made some other recipe, not taco stuffed shells. (I don't have salsa, so I'm just not putting anything in for that.

I waited until 2:11 to call my brother, and told him he was born at 2:12, so I was calling a bit early. I remember that day because I was a big sister after he was born. I was also the built in baby sitter until he was over the age of 16, and his mother took advantage of that.

Huge Ta-Da... Got off to the wedding town on time.

Car is full to the top. I teased ds that dgs will have to ride on my lap tomorrow night! The actual plan is dfs has a rental car so we can put stuff in that to get make room for dgs and his gear for the week he will be with me. As it is, his crib and booster seat takes up room in my car now since he'll be napping and eating lunch in my hotel room tomorrow


Forecast is for rain. Fingers crossed its will hold off until after the ceremony since there's no backup plan. Tarps to cover the chairs and towels to dry them off are part of why the car is so full.

Good luck with the wedding, Kathryn. I hope the weather cooperates for you. Maybe a rainbow overhead would be a nice touch.

Speaking of weddings, DH and I were reminiscing about family weddings, my girls' weddings and then ours. I brought out all the little wedding albums and we looked through at all the people, now gone, or grown up. Last book was ours and after we looked through that one, 30 years ago it was, I asked him what he remembered of it. Not much, he said. I told him he better not forget ME! He assured me he won't. One never knows.....

How we got into all that, I don't know. We were talking about our insurances etc. and what things cost, and how I manage all that, and what our incomes are... He had no idea what our policies are all about. He just knows that I'm working on the drug one right now. Then he wanted to know about $ and what banks etc. We talked about shutting down the company and what that entails and how I'm doing it... it all strikes him as being so complicated that he could never understand how all of it works and what he'd need to do if I wasn't doing it. I know he's concerned about all that, but in the end tends to just leave it all up to me to handle. I think we have had more conversations lately than we've probably had in years. He was always so busy and tied up with work. We are more "together" than I think we've been ever in our married life.

He went out for a bike ride and I followed him out to the porch. He looked over at the bare spot where the tree used to be..... and he said it sure would be pretty filled with flowers. Sigh...if I could get this rash cleared up I might tackle that spot.

Lucylee, your post last night has you sounding like the go-to person in your whole family and community. You sure have a lot of people depend on you. You deserve those naps!

I should check emails, see if the agent has gotten back to me. I made those phone calls and registered - something - and emailed him that I'd done that. I guess I'll get dinner first.

For TODAY, I think I can top it, LOL!!! Y'all, the Lord is definitely testing us. DH just came in and said the odometer on his truck was stopped at something-something-666, by the way.
No, today has been this way:
Best laid plans of mice and men, all that stuff, vacuuming before bug lady arrived did not happen.
-- I helped dh get his breakfast stuff out, s2s, got house ready for bug lady, and went to the post office.
Remember this -- dmom's truck has been making a horrible noise when braking for a long time. Brakes seemed to be fine. We kept driving. Coming home from post office, something made a loud sound like something had dropped off the truck. Noise stopped. Remember this.
-- Home from post office... email saying phone company has not received payment for October. Payment was mailed the 14th.
-- Called insurance company as dbil requested yesterday. No luck. They said call the people in College Town. Remember this also.
-- DGS called/texted to show us his fire ant bite and tell us he had to leave school to go get his arm x-rayed. Something has been going on with his arm for a few weeks. (Totally unrelated to fire ants.)
-- Called phone company... got them to give me an additional week to see if payment arrived. Otherwise will pay via credit card.
-- Bug lady came. Bright spot in day. We always enjoy seeing her.
-- Bug lady left.
-- Called insurance company in College Town. He was kinda short with me and told me to call adjuster here in our town.
-- Called for the third call to insurance person. Good explanation. Sounds like things are progressing.
-- DS called while I was on phone. Totally forgot about him until I was at dbil's swapping tickets, so we can (probably) sell extras, after we talk to transmission man.
-- Called ds, while taking water to church for trunk or treat later this week... started out to dmom's to help with fall decor on her porch...
REALIZED WHILE THE NOISE IS GONE FROM DMOM'S TRUCK, THE BRAKES ARE ALSO GONE!!!
-- Back home to tell dh about this...
-- Took dmom's truck to different mechanic, not transmission man
-- Called dmom... she said this truck is OURS now... she doesn't need it and can't afford to keep it up...
-- Went to drug store, got refills and bought walker for dh who is having gout flare-up in ankle
-- Called ds, went to get HIS truck, since ac is out in our truck (which dh doesn't want to sell to my cousin, who would love to buy it and seeing that dmom is ready to sign over title of the other, I'd be happy to do, but... whatever.)

It's been a day.

It's been two days. DH is NOT taking all this very well. Somehow, I have begun to just laugh. What on earth will happen next...

Yesterday afternoon, HRH had some family come over and while they chatted indoors, I took care of the little kid outside until dark. We found fall foliage and something close to a wildflower. It was chilly but outside was the request, lol.

Harmony, the potty verdict seems to be positive, in that Tobias is using the cardboard house without complaint. I think maybe, when one wants to do something different for a cat, do it with cardboard. They like cardboard. Once we tried a covered plastic dome type that wasn't cheap. He hated it. I seem to have put the window cutout at a very good place for grasping the house and rotating it away from the wall, so that's pretty effortless. So far, so good. I have no desire to paper it or anything, though. My imagination hasn't kicked in on that.

I have sewed for hours today. Most very productive. One problem because I cut 2 strips slightly wrong. (Reading the measurement, written very small, was what I'd done wrong.) So, I did have to get the seam ripper out once. Didn't waste much fabric, though, since I can just cut them a bit smaller for another part. Also didn't waste time being down about my eyes. It is what it is, and the overwhelming majority is good. I'm being kind of persnickety at this stage because it's the very center of the quilt top. I'll relax somewhat later. Have gotten to a clear stopping place.

Not sure I'll have this kind of time at all tomorrow. But perhaps some. A lot of cutting coming up, so I'd better be careful with my back.

lucylee, I'm just glad you got home so that you COULD understand the brakes were gone!

Harmony, that's so nice that you two are sharing, plus even nicer that you're noticing and appreciating it.

Kathryn, best wishes on wedding weather, preparedness, enjoyment.

LadyM, the only advice I can think of is that 100 percent of people keep a wreck on their minds much longer than they want to, even if it's a fender-bender. So, he can consider himself normal. It's hard to shake it off.

Ds and family stopped by because I've been picking up their mail while they were gone on fishing trip. DgdC drew me a picture of a blue crab. It's on the fridge. Ds looks much better, although his cheek is still showing a fair bit of swelling. Ddil says the bloodshot eye is almost completely cleared.
