I napped a bit and I'm feeling like I've gotten my life back. Things aren't quite normal but not wearing a cast is huge. The incisions are protected by steri-strips that should stay on until maybe Monday. But I can go in the pool and perhaps ocean and do most things. I have a huge scar running up the arm. You know when kids compare how many stitches they got? I win! Stitches are both on underside of arm/wrist and on upper side. Will see the doc again on 21 June and probably the temporary plate out early August? (Incisions on both ends to take out screws, then the plate sides out. The plate on the underside of the wrist stays.)

In other news, I had the bone scan this a.m., that was quick and easy, and had a pedicure and manicure. My hands look/feel much better. It's been too hard to trim toenails, thus pedicure was needed. The nail tech wasn't afraid to trim my nails short, thank goodness.

I'm planning to go to the grocery tomorrow. I'll get help getting groceries to car. On Thursday a.m. I'm getting body work. The focus for the rest of the week needs to be getting ready for the beach trip.

I'm debating on getting pansies replaced with geraniums before we leave. House/dog sitter can water either, but I'm almost embarrassed to have pansies still in planters.

So glad to see this.

We are home. We have unloaded vehicle and found food to eat tonight. I will eventually get all the plates spinning again. DH has been in bed for 30 hours and he is tired of that. He is unloading the dishwasher and generally checking on everything. On the surface DH seems okay but his short-term memory is still not working like normal. DH has an appointment with the family doctor on Thursday to get his thoughts.

So I realize it is Memorial Day Weekend coming up so I'm
thinking on that. Foods I might want from the store etc.
Cloudy and spitting a bit of rain out now glad I did the outside stuff when I did.
Soup is heating up great night for it.

Wonderful news in our village!
Normalcy is also huge.

Twins', my recovery-room nurses told me to ask myself, "Is it a kitten?" because if it was heavier than a kitten (2 pounds or less), it was too heavy at first after my surgery (didn't last long, of course, but that was very easy to remember!). HRH loved that, and would ask me as I went to look in refrigerator, for instance, "Is it a kitten?"

I handled trash day and put away everything taken out of the closet. Vacuumed. Have been out watering.

So glad LordM is home and Twins is making such great progress!

I could not sleep well last night, as usual, (at 2:00 a.m. I was looking through old annuals, trying to figure out why one of dgs' teachers looked so familiar. Yes.. a former student.)
After teacher group today, I came home and took a long nap. But I did enjoy teacher group. We will not meet again till September, after school starts back, and I will miss these ladies. One is a fairly recent widow like myself, only a couple years older than me; the others are closer to dh's age, or my mom's age. They are such a supportive group, always so kind and reassuring.

Tomorrow, I have to be up very early for me -- at least 7:00 a.m. -- to take dmom to the pain clinic. Please pray they can do something for her back that does not involve constant medication or surgery. She is hoping for an epidural shot, which she has had before.
New normal for me may involve lots of trips to doctor with dmom... she was saying she has missed appointments with surgeon who did her intestinal surgery in 2022, just a follow-up to keep her in his records, I think, AND she has missed a dentist appointment, and she does want to see the dentist and have some adjustment to her dentures. She CAN drive to most of these on her own, but it is beginning to make me nervous for her to be out, maneuvering sidewalks and curbs, etc, plus -- in the case of the pain clinic -- I want to see what the doctor tells her.

I have a troublesome cough, lots of sinus congestion, and a headache that generally appears late in the day. This has been going on for so long that I am sure it has to be allergies, but goodness... the cough is driving me crazy. Everything is worse when I lie down -- which probably accounts in part for the troublesome sleep at night, and the headache after lying down in the afternoon.
At any rate, I have no very few ta-das... except
I did put the week's load of towels in the washer and
folded a very small load of dgs' clothes.
(Have not put them away, and do not expect to put away the towels. If I get them in the dryer, I'll be doing well.)
Also corrected small detail on church minutes from Sunday meeting and emailed back to chairman of the council.
I just have no energy for anything.
Tomorrow is another day.
