I called the cable co. they did a reset with out any changes.
I think the basement TV is too old.
Next I'll try doing a hard reset.

Upstairs I have music and net flicks ~ so I"m pretending I'm at a cabin.


Me not going to W store for a TV on the weekend.
It's my writing time anyway.
Had some lunch great stuff from the cold / freezer section place!
The sun is out yea!
I'm just glad I know this is not the end of the world and my mood is not deflated.
I am glad to know this before I lugged that TV up the stairs. Wanted to know if it would work before I
went to that effort.

On the plus side I have extra steps in yea.

It's still breezy outside here. I can read a few pages in my Save the Cat writes a novel book.
Found a "new" outfit when I was looking for TV box in the closet and got out the summer clothes,
one long sleeves shirt is perfect today changed and I now have blue on.
Speaking of new I have new blooms in my garden, holly hock now a yellow is added to them, and a orange day lily,
I had a pink & rose colors holly hock as well as a deep burgundy one I spotted yesterday.
I could start some knitting a scarf, shawl, dish cloth or crochet on a hot pads. I have yarn.

Too windy to paint the rocks that I was going to paint, or other outside activities.
Did cook up veg and had some for dinner with my meat & some carbs too.
Cleaned up after that and happy to say I got a couple of other rounds done of writing.
One more page for my goal today trying to finish out a odds & ends note book tomorrow.

Happy party here for the birthday boy who was treated very well. He asked for Chinese food (interesting choice) and both cupcakes and a cookie cake. Funny presents, happy dog, all good.

Main Father's Day celebration happened, too. Dd got him one of those big-headed representational toy/statues, but this one was designed and personalized by the boys from a do-it-yourself line with "You are One of One" on the box. (I assume this is because the others are numbered issues?) Lots of emphasis on the white beard, lol.

But the main present for HRH he knew all about -
all his home media (videos from all kinds of camera recording over the years) saved and digitized, available online now, able to put it on thumb drive, etc. I believe the company we used was "Legacy Box". Anyway, this is a huge hit, and he has shown an assortment of these through the party, here at home, etc.

I will admit to great personal piece of mind that some of these are committed to digitization and kept in more than one place now. Dd25's birth (well, afterward), baptism, plus video of HRH's grandmother holding dd, but talking at the moment about dstepson. He never thought he would be seeing her image again, hearing her saying his name (she had a unique pronunciation - so glad we have that audio). And there is even older, from reel-to-reel days, of HRH's family in several directions, which HRH saved years ago from further deterioration that was already happening. Now all safe and sound, at least in the state he found them. He can't stop watching them.

Harriet, thanks for sharing about your success at digitizing old treasures. I need to do the same.

As for committing things to paper, I'm the same way. (And have just added finding someone to digitize our videos to my September goals.)

I got the beds taken down and packed up. They take up little room but dang their carry bags are heavy (the packaging says 35lbs but I swear it feels a lot more than dragging one of the grands.) They are loaded in the car now along with an assortment of linens. I have an idea for a bed here for dgs, setting up the inflatable mattress on the floor with the head of it inside the play tent. We'll see if it will fit (I have a day after getting home before I have dgs to babysit so have time to set things up and experiment.)

Dh and I did the four errands but the walk, only 2.5 miles, wore me out completely. My meds weren't ready at the pharmacy (they had sent an email but only my ADD meds were ready so she is scrambling to make up the one my doctor's appointment gave me to hopefully cure this itching so I can pick it up tomorrow on our way out. I've put up with the itching since January and the post-med instructions, which I'm doing now since I don't have the cream, is helping too. I'm frustrated though because I went to pick up the cream 48 hours after the RX was sent in. That seems like to long. My third prescription isn't ready either but that's a refill and I still have at least a month left. I am dragging now an awful lot as I try and get packed up.

I had a fairly healthy dinner and managed to get moving around 8. It is now 10:30 and I've gathered up everything on the 'bring up next time' list.

I've paid bills and done a a quick email to our finance guy (I found a way to cut the tax on our stock windfall and move the future growth into a tax-free account.)

I'm about ready to start packing my suitcase and making up a grocery list so I'll take my cottage planner into the bedroom so I can make up lists as I think of things.

I haven't necessarily been sticking to anything but I do have a few ta-das --
* bought groceries
* vacuumed and dusted kids' room
* went to two cemeteries and measured stones (again) (inlaws' and parents')
* talked to dbil about the tombstone question...
-- -- he feels just like I do -- yes, $2000 is a LOT of money and YES, where are they cutting corners to offer this price? But NO he will not be upset at all if I do not follow his friend's advice; I should do whatever I think is best, he is sure it will work out just fine. DS and DDIL say go with the cheaper one; I know lots of people around here use them, and when we walk through cemeteries, there is no noticeable difference between any of the stones. Like, my dad's is 11 years old, still looks just as good as it did when it was set, and it certainly doesn't stand out in the midst of all the others as being low quality or something.
I still don't know what I'm going to do. I think DS and I will go to the cheaper place in the next couple weeks and just see what they have to say in person.

DS and family are home and DGS is here with me now. Quiet time is over. He is inventing his own language and spelling out the titles of Dr. Seuss books to see if I can recognize them.

(((LadyM))) I'm sorry you're having the problems that lead to needing a notebook... (((BIG HUGS))) ... but I certainly understand how sometimes pen and paper to sort of process the whole thing. I will be praying for your dad and your family.
I have to say, I really, really admire the way you can "stick to it" even when you are troubled by family situations around you. I tend to just sit and "spin" inside my own head, and start getting sick at my stomach.


So glad all celebrations went well with the Harriet household! We need to do some digitizing of old films too. We have a lot of reel-to-reel tapes from dh's football days. DS has made sorta a "poor man's version" by showing them on the wall and filming them with his phone, then transferring to computer... but your version would certainly be much more professional! How long did it take to get them back?

I admire your sticktoitness with the writing, Nancy. Are you working on something that will be submitted for publication later, or is this writing just for your eyes only?

Cathy, I bet your flowers are beautiful!

Rose -- I am sorry y'all are having so much rain. We need some too, like Harriet. I * think* the leak is stopped in my roof, but I need a few rainstorms to really test it out! We're having highs in the 90s but not a cloud in sight.
Good for you on getting all that organization done in the meantime.

I better go get DGS into the shower. I have a strong suspicion he has gone and fallen asleep in my bed! I can't watch anything on tv while he's awake -- he talks talks talks. Even when it's a show he wants to watch! But I'm glad to have him here. It's probably a good thing he can't pay attention -- we were watching Family Feud and I was a little bit shocked to find out he actually did know what they were talking about... something that shakes when it's turned on... Oh my... kids grow up waay too fast these days.

lucylee, let me quickly answer that question now, when I've just looked it up, before I forget - Tuesday, 21st of May my planner says Legacy Box went to UPS store in town. Today HRH was informed by email, I believe, that they were available online right away and the link to them (? ) Something like that. The box itself is on the way back to us, they say, with all items he sent, undamaged. So, 25 days from shipping to access. I guess they had it for 3 weeks. They have a deal for a certain number of items, but I insisted that since he had more, I wanted him to get it all done at once (you pay a set amount for each one after that). I didn't want to incur the initial fee more than once, or to sit looking at the ones we weren't sure were important, wondering if we were wrong! I think we sent 20 or so?
