Re: Juneteenth Wednesday PWYC
I mowed the back yard. Yea!
Got the lawn chairs moved to new spots too.
Rested
-----
Mowed the front yard thankful for shade tree.
swept the driveway.
Moved the lawn chairs and side table back.
Watering the front yard now 2nd spot done.
Picked up the two rose branches that I missed.
Closing in on my 10,000 steps for today.
Cleaned the bird bath in front.
Refilled back yard bird waters & watered the beds.
Plus I rinsed out my hair for a refresher!
Earlier while Dgd waited and we chatted I got out of the rig and did some steps in place it helped!
Also we went to the thrift shop and did not buy anything!

B.B.B.B.B.B.
BEAR?!!!!
I'm trying to decide which animal I would be more afraid of meeting while walking. A Bear or a wild feral hog.
NEITHER is my preference.
We saw wild feral hogs a mile from our home several times. I have a (false?) sense of safety because the hogs would have to cross the interstate with concrete barriers (and not get hit by vehicles) to get to our home. So far that has kept them away from here.
Next up - take DS15 to girlfriend home so she can come here to spend some time together before they go to church.

Re: Juneteenth Wednesday PWYC
I had a few "W" jobs along with Walmart. Plants inside have been watered. Cistern (water tank) has been checked and 2000 gallons have been ordered. ($95. for 2000 gallons). Now I need to water the flowers I bought that are outside.
Dh is chomping at the bit to go swimming. I told him I don't want to go until after 8.
...
When we got home from swimming the field had been baled. I saw one machine far away on the other side of the field and the machine doing the baling was a John Deere. No idea what the other one was. It was putting the bales onto a transport truck.
Dh has some cucumbers that are less than 6 inches long, so he's happy. We didn't get any last year even though he planted some. This year they are in a sunnier location.
Right now I am munching (slowly) on 4 of the 6 strawberries dh brought in for me. He ate the other 2 after I insisted.

Re: Juneteenth Wednesday PWYC
We are home. Yes, a 14-hour day, and DS did all the driving. We had a nice time, and it was not emotionally trying for me. Between the dgrands -- literally, LOL, I am the buffer zone -- I didn't have a lot of time to dwell on the differences between this year and last year. DDIL sorta hinted to me that it was more trying for DS, and they got up and walked around for a while. I took the kids to the gift shop and then I told DDIL if DS wanted to leave before it was over, that was fine with me. We were ahead 7-0, I told DS it was not likely Detroit was going to make a big comeback; I think they scored a total of 2 runs in the first two nights in Atlanta. So we left during the 7th inning stretch, and Atlanta did win, 7-0. We were glad to get ahead of some of the traffic.
We ate at the Varsity -- popular hamburger place that has probably been there at least 50 years -- and then headed home.
Stopped at Buccee's on the way home.
Got home, found out the post office was closed today (Juneteenth) so no newspaper...
Got all my stuff put away (old habits die hard) and now I'm lying in bed with dgd, who announced she was tired and ready to go to bed.
I'm tired too. I did stay awake all day, none of my usual sleeping through the drive. DDIL wanted me to sti in the front and keep DS company so she could read or sleep or whatever -- she was probably listening to podcasts or something.
LadyM, I don't think I'd want to run into either a bear or a wild hog! EEEK. Be careful!!!
Kathryn, Ken was very brave to keep his cool and just continue on his way without scaring the bear or disturbing more! Wow. Y'all be careful, too!
Sounds like DangerBoy's trip is about like our College Town trips. I hope he has a great summer, Harriet, and I agree -- it is high time you get a proper table!
I need to reply to friend, who sent a text today, wants us to get together for lunch again. Wants me to let her know when I have a Monday or Wednesday free. I will get back to her, but this makes me nervous. I think she wants to cook... I'd prefer a restaurant -- even though I know she is an amazing cook -- but what if I don't like something? I'm not much for vegetables, I'm sorta a picky eater, and my stomach is always a questionable entity. If we are at a restaurant and I don't like what I get, it's not her fault. But I know I need to see her; this is one of my oldest and best friends, the one who insisted I go to the class reunion with her and her husband.
Waving to EVERYONE. Hope y'all are having a good evening!
