Hi! Went for lunch with a friend today. It's so nice to be home. Some people can really drain me.

While I was out, dh went and got some groceries. Bacon, sliced ham and sliced chicken breast. He also picked up some buns for himself.

Dh will be having a rainbow trout for his supper and I also made him some lime jello. I had a large lunch, (Greek food) so right now I'm not hungry.

I have jarred up the soup made about a gallon of it.
It was very tasty. I'll have some in a day or so.
The rest will cool and I"ll freeze it up.
The spaghetti squash is done inside off the deck and cooling now too hot to handle.
I'll peel it later and bag it up save some for a few meals then freeze the rest of that.

My new journal came I went out to met him with a cold soda he called me dear!

I have put the squash in jars to go in the freezer except one serving for my lunch later.
had a tuna san. for dinner.

YES! I agree.
I am thankful for time with my DSis but it drains me. We are soooooooooooo different. I decided before we got together that no matter what DSis said I would not argue or give a contrasting opinion. I know from years of experience that DSis is sure she is right in all matters and has ZERO interest in hearing anything that does not agree with her opinion. DSis likes to talk so I just ask questions and listen. I try to not let my thoughts show on my face.

DSis - I went to ER 3 times this week. The first time they said my toe needs to be amputated and made a referral to my cardiologist.
Me - They want to amputate your toe? Why would they do that?
DSis - Yes because my blood pressure is high. I have blood pressure meds but I only take them when my blood pressure is high. The doctor told me to not take the blood pressure meds if it wasn't high.
Me - How high does your blood pressure need to be to take the meds?
DSis - it has been running around 200/140.
Me - WOW. That does sound high. Does it come down when you take your meds?
DSis - Yes. But I don't need to take them every day. The second time I went to ER they did a cat scan and told me that my back was fractured and that I needed heart surgery. The surgeon came in and said I needed stents and bypasses.
Me - WOW. That sounds serious. It is great that your DDIL is an RN in the cardiologist office. What did she say?
DSis - I haven't seen the cardiologist. I went to the Nurse Practitioner next door (a small clinic in our little town). She did blood work and said that everything was fine. I don't need to have my toe amputated and I don't need to have heart surgery.
Me - Your blood test results gave that information?
DSis - Yes. I got great results from the blood test. The NP said I didn't need to do anything. The toe and heart are miraculously healed.

I also have a (different) rule for a member of my extended family whom I love, but who takes a LOT of time with even the simplest conversation. My rule is "no new subjects" and I silently repeat that to myself several times when we are talking. If I will allow only the points of conversation that started the talk, I may get away with just, say, a 45-min conversation. If anything prompts me to offer new information (oops), that adds way more time than I bargained for. I do eventually learn my lesson well.

The best laid plans... .. poor dgdC is now sick . She could neither attend school OR go to her ball game, so no need for me to clean and declutter the car. Glad I got that done, though. Poor thing. Along with kind of messing up her life in general, of course ds is concerned about dgs getting sick as well. And our sewing time together is further postponed.

We had beans and onions, biscuits and my homemade red coleslaw this evening.
