~~~Waving Hi to all~~~~
What a joy it is to come here and read your posts.
I had an appointment this morning to get RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) device. DH has been using RPM blood sugar and blood pressure devices that report to doctor and company each time he uses them. Now our family doctor wants me to start using blood pressure RPM. I am reluctant because my blood pressure is always excellent so I don't see the need. However, experience has taught me that our family doctor gives good guidance so I am doing it without argumenting with him about it. I will start taking my blood pressure each day and let the machie report it. I wish it was a blood glucose machine but those are only for diabetics.
Yesterday I made a big pot of hash (roast, potatoes, onions) and am enjoying it today. It is one of those meals that is better the next day IMHO. I made it with extra broth so that is what I am sipping on. The family is eating the solid pieces in this dish.
I am 3 days post surgery and off all prescription pain meds. I am taking some OTC pain meds to keep the pain dull enough to ignore. Having stitches inside mouth is a PITA becaue my tongue can't seem to quit touching the loose sutures. Doing a quick search on how long until they dissolve gives the answer that it takes 5-14 days. *sigh* Just a few moe days and this will be over.
Project of the day = Dining room table. How does it go from clear to cluttered in a blink of an eye? It has been ignored for far too long. Today is the day to return it to clear status.
I scrolled on the phone longer than I meant to this morning, but I didn’t let it set me back for the day. So far, I have
walked outdoors for 15 minutes
While talking to dmom on phone
Stripped the bed
washed & dried the sheets
Vacuumed the main area of the house
Drove the truck and went to the post office
Had to take a break! Vacuuming just makes my hips/back hurt sooo bad! I’ve eaten some cheese, turkey, and Triscuits. Need to add a fruit— maybe these apples are still good…
Tomorrow is another day.
another encore from moi! curtsying to all of you!
I thought that I would try another way to say hello!
flipped more laundry
pulled the laundry from upstairs - I am tired of laundry but I am catching up!
fed mom a small lunch and a piece of chocolate.
emptied the dw (I am tired of dishes too :shock: 8-) )
next fold white laundry
wash down the tops of the washer and dryer
flip flop more laundry - getting close!
I did something quite unfair but I knew the importance to dd younger. I have spoken to dh quite a few times about talking to dd younger about how he spoke and treated her the other day. -especially since she wasn't mean/didn't answer back etc.
Today, I finally had them both in the kitchen and I asked in front of them both if dh had spoken to dd younger about the other day. (how he felt and that he shouldn't have spoken to her that way.)
He gave me a mean and nasty side eye look but did apologize for speaking to her in such a way. She didn't see the look he gave me but she accepted his apology gracefully and told him it was okay. She felt so much better. She is not one to rub things in, and is usually very gracious, The apology made her feel respected and she smiled at him kindly. Dh let it go but he would have never apologized if I hadn't done this. Was it fair - no - was it necessary - I think so.
bw2, I have hit a tired spot too. I got up almost three hours earlier today than yesterday. I know I really shouldn't sleep in that late on weekends but I was just so tired on Saturday. And she went through the whole PT routine today, took awhile and I am just dragging. I called dh and told him I had reconsidered his offer to go out to eat tonight.
I need to walk the ddog soon.
I'm tired too, but that's because I've been on the computer for 1.5 hours trying to make reservations for T-Day to fly to NJ. I've already booked our hotel and United Air was a PITA trying to get things done. I gave up and ended up using Expedia...I have my hotel reservations with them...and they sent me through AARP. Never did that before and received a 10% discount for my car, which is great. I always use Hertz because getting in and out of Newark's Airport in a car is a breeze from their parking lot.
Still keeping my eye on the storm, but it looks like its headed north of us. We still will feel the effects, but it shouldn't be too bad. I have no idea what we're having for dinner. I got so involved in doing other things I forgot to get something out of the freezer even though I've been in and out of it several times today. Am freezing ziplock bags of water to keep the freezer cooler for a longer period of time should we loose electricity.
I also colored my hair this morning. Happy with the results so thats good. I had planned to make hotdogs for the kids last night, but they cancelled at the last minute so Sweetie had hotdogs, tater tots and salad. He may end up with that or soup, grilled cheese and a salad. I have no idea what he'll want but I promise you he won't starve. :lol:
d twins - I think sometimes we are just tired! three hours earlier than yesterday is a big amount of time - maybe your and my body wants more Weekend time :D
My oldest loves yoga's (she has different yoga classes - hot yoga and sculpt are harder to her) she has it 5 mornings a week 5:45 am no thank you! ). Sunday she said "I give in" I knew it meant her body just couldn't do another class.
enjoy your walk with your dear dog!!!
d Nancy - praying your d kiddo's expected rough patch is so small that it doesn't affect them.
yay on having a new book and journal.
soup sounds lovely
d rose your hair looks lovely! praying that the storm is not a storm!!! lol
"I promise you he won't starve."
oh my gosh that made me smile!
hello all.
d mom wants to go home - I had planned on making her dinner but she has been here since 10 am
I am going to try something that I know won't work but she wants to be able to take her own meds tonight. I will order dinner for her - we are just having bruschetta with roasted tomatoes. I could make Ina's zucchini tart but I have to admit I am getting tired of zucchini 8-) I have fresh fruit cut for dessert.
It's possible the antibiotic is making me tired/sleepy. I have been sleeping the nights away and still napping since starting it. Dr.'s office finally called this morning and the nurse(?) wanted to know if I knew something had been called in. (?) So, I said yes the pharmacy informed me, and I had taken the second dose yesterday. Sigh. Not a very helpful conversation, just "let us know if you still go back into symptoms after this round".
Laundry and dishes are getting done, though.
Fielded a long phone call from a dcousin, and mostly listened, which was what was needed.
Took a photo of HRH's supper to send to dd44 in case her boys might like it. My contribution had been cutting up the veggies I was told - he felt chef-ish and I wasn't up to culinary thought. I had beans, slaw and sweet potato, which is my feel-better meal.
Surely I did something else today, Oh, I discovered and dumped a science experiment out of the fridge and cleaned that little container.
Thanks for link - hopeful for all teachers and students.
I made it through my first normal activity day after surgery & recovery. I am thankful.
I got a call from the periodontal office today asking if everything was going okay and if I had any questions. They also reminded me to be using saltwater rinses 3-4 times a day and the prescription mouthwash rinse twice a day. Since I can't brush those teeth, the frequent rinses is how that area is as clean as possible.
The dining room table is decluttered & clear! I decided to remove 2 of the large table inserts so now the table is about half size of what it was. I am not sure if I will leave it this way or not. I'll give it a few days and then decide.
I got a broccoli plant into the raised bed. Broccoli is cold weather hardy and will grow all winter and into the spring. I turn my tomato cages sideways, and they become broccoli cages during the cold weather months. I use those metal cages as support to drape a cover over the cold weather plants if needed.
