RR - Glad to see your CI with storm update.
I am happy, frustrated, angry, scared and and and and
Our little school just went on lockdown for the 2nd time in two weeks.
I am happy with the immediate way our school deals with any hint of a threat. The admin doesn't mess around and shuts everything down at the first hint of something wrong. They secure everyone and then ask questions after. They consider it a potential crime scene and no one comes in or out except the police and investigators. It took them less than 30 minutes to get resolution and the lockdown was lifted. I just can't comprehend the stress that has to add to all the school kids. To do the drills is bad enough but to actually experience a lockdown with threats is something no kid needs to experience. DD13 has a counselor appointment next Monday and we will be discussing this and how to process it.
I am frustrated that @*%(#$ kid is making threats. The kid who made the threat last week has been arrested and charged. The school, police and DA are not messing around and taking it as seriously as possible. The parents of that kid are also on the hot seat.

oh no d lady!
I pray they catch the person who is swatting the schools and go to jail. I can't imagine the stress for the kids, the staff, the police and the fire dept. I am glad they take it seriously!
I am glad you are starting to feel better now that you are on day 6 after your surgery!
hi d rose glad you are doing fine! praying that you and all are safe through out the next few days.
I heard the same on Ryan Hall, y'all.
hello everyone.
dd younger and mom aren't back yet.
having the cleaning angels was wonderful - it reset most of the house.
I set up a new puzzle on temporary card table in family room.
family room floor needs washing but I will put that off.

The cleaning lady here is on strike I guess / note that would be me! LOL!
I have gotten errands handled at least some of em.
I have also let go of some items I had decided to declutter,
Bed has been made.
Food is put away, freezer & pantry is restocked now.
Walked ddoggo.
80% of my steps are done for today just before noon.
I had a couple of genius ideas this morning:
Got a comp note book I can cut down to put in a cover I have wanted to use but could not find the right
size refills! The other was a way around fresh lines painted on the road! LH would be proud LOL!
I'm happy and singing!

Nancy - YGG!I had a couple of genius ideas
DD13 says that she is not traumatized by today lockdown and is "chill" about it. She said a grade school student said someone had a gun but it turned out to not be true. She explained it was a soft lockdown which means they lock the classroom door and continue doing regular lessons. I asked what a hard lockdown is and she said that is where they lock the classroom door and pile all the desk against it. Then they get into a designated corner of classroom and huddle together being as quiet as possible.
I made chicken fajitas and rice for the family. I'm still eating soft food, so I cooked tilapia and potatoes.

More good news you all would be so proud of me ....
Got a coupon in them mail for nearly 1/2 off duct cleaning on my furnace and check out the system.
That clean the duct part has been on my list for eons years.
I did like the noise but need to have it done.
The gal that made the apt. gave me an idea for kenneling the ddoggo I can put her in the
plant cage or what I call the potting shed too.
Also progress now that I have gotten lawn & leaf bags
I have two more full of the onions I took out. Wa-hoot!
The cutting down the paper on comp note book is an adventure finally got it acceptable.
Now I have a pattern to try for others I have on hand as well for future use.
Swept under the table too that counts LOL!
Had lunch.

I've been worthless today, between the foot hurting and "waiting" for bad weather.
Got notice earlier via text and phone from county, possible 55 MPH winds in early morning hours.

there wasn't much that can be done with a hurt foot and the bad weather! hope the winds won't be too much of a problem.

Re: CAN DO ATTITUDE, Thursday Sept. 26, 2024
Extreme flooding all around us here, although we will be fine. We already knew it was happening because ds was forwarding our family the bottom-line info he was sending to his captains. He said if nearby lake, then at eye-popping level, hit another number even more eye-popping, evacuations for communities between our area and his work would begin. I just got the "buzz" on my phone alerting that those evacuations were underway, not mandatory yet, so I guess it hit that first marker.
Ds says just 2 (?) more inches from that point and it will be at a level never documented before, and that's by both the official measures and community lore. He doesn't see how it can be avoided and could be about 5 in the morning or thereabouts.
The alert says a church we know is the evacuation spot closest to us (still distant). But ds says in private email that according to the topography maps only one place on our own small road will flood. So, we might all be temporarily trapped in here (although I'm sure neighbors would offer other ways out in emergency, if those were not blocked) but we can all travel the road to our various neighbors with no danger. Ds pointedly says for me to start filling water jugs, however.
Hoping everyone stays on the grid and keeps from washing away.
I like talking to ya'll.
Headed to gather some more jugs.

Two more jugs obediently filled. (believe me, I will be quizzed)
I find it so difficult to understand all the time frames and trajectories but perhaps now is an especially difficult time for Ramblin'... ...
Twins', get some rest so you can worry later, too, okay? Had you looked at video from Hendersonville and the area around the rather large house... .. I do so have a soft spot for Flat Rock nearby, too, and a bit smaller house there, but I'm sure elevations are high and smart people making decisions for the animals.
LadyM, I hope dd never has to even hear about this mean-spirited foolishness again.

Re: CAN DO ATTITUDE, Thursday Sept. 26, 2024
I did cut three come note books to size that is enough.
Broke down branches in the front so now I have a nice more manageable pile.
Finished a dish cloth 2nd to a set this morning just had to clip ends I"d woven in.
I started a hot pad to go with it.
I window shopped fabric did not find the mid weight cotton I was thinking about.
Had dinner washed up dishes.
Sweet potato start is failed turned in to a science project so I tried to rescue a few of the sprouts
and tossed the rest.
s2barefeet happened.
Tried on new pj's the fit yea!
I've about warn out the ones I made and was pleased to find some with pockets in ladies dept. today and a flannel shirt
in the b&w plaid I have been wanting.
I was not feeling energy last evening today it returned yea!
Could be hormones.
Harriet thanks for that idea of what to do with the empty jugs I have here.
