oh my goodness - this day is getting away from me.
I haven't s2s or taken my meds yet.

dd woke up mom, gave her meds and then ordered lunch for us. chicken noodle soup and I gave mom a sandwich, some apples and grapes
she helped with folding laundry, helped make a bed, peeled onions, and washed the kitchen table - she just started watching Murder she wrote and I am making her drink water.

onions are cooking - dish is ready for the oven
I was bummed - the other day I had bought smoked bacon and accidentally put it in the wrong cart - I ran over and said what I had done - he said no it's his.very firmly and held it in his arms tightly - I saw what it was ... lol I bet he was surprised when He got home - it was mine. I will go out with mom to butcher or polish deli -
I still have to make soup. I haven been thinking on how to make a Pittsburg wedding soup to can.

laundry has been flipping and flopping - there should be an Olympic sport for this :D

3:09 took meds! yay - now to find cat.
4:35 pm home again home again jiggity jig (or what ever it is)

talk to you soon.

Peeking in. I see that RRose is OK, though that fire alarm sure sounds nerve-wracking. I hope you get lots of peaceful sleep tonight.

Dh is flying home from Atlanta, GA today, but I think that's not a problem weather-wise. I believe he's in the air now. Our housemate is from Sarasota, FL, but she says their house is safe, maybe far from the shore and high up? I hope her parents are OK. One of the houseguests we had Monday night is from Jacksonville, FL. I think she'll be OK flying back home later this week -- but maybe not? She's staying here again tonight and then elsewhere tomorrow night. (She works for the same religious org that dd28 works for, and is doing a blitz in Michigan with another co-worker re: starting up new groups on university campuses.)

I had payroll until about 1:15 pm. We're starting up a new 5-week session, so I had to finish my syllabus this morning and finalize activities and print out a lot of hand outs. I taught until 1 and then headed home. After lunch, I got caught up on a few bills and ordered a gift for J11yo.

Now, I'm procrastinating a WF run and possible a jog -- although, I really don't feel like jogging. I've gotten myself out of the habit. I'll have more time tomorrow. . . .

The 2 houseguests are returning tonight -- I don't know if they'll need dinner or not. I have an online faith-based class from 8-10 pm. It's hard for me to be up that late; I do my best. I need to do some reading beforehand.

Tomorrow night, we're hosting Thursday dinner. It will be small, but there will be some new guests in attendance. I've just received emails from dh that a friend from Austin will be in town on Friday. I think he wants to get together with us. After hosting houseguests M and W night and Thursday dinner, I honestly don't feel like hosting dinner with him on Friday as well, so we probably won't do that. Besides, I'm working with my supervisor on school admin tasks after class on Friday, so my time in the afternoon for shopping and cooking will be minimal. Maybe we'll invite him to join us at a restaurant? Not sure. . . I'm looking forward to Saturday when most of the day will be unscheduled. 8-)

It's gotten away from me too, bw2. I've boomeranged back and forth today. After my last PT appointment (baring unforeseen issues?) I took the "offprint" of my article by the local public library, introduced myself and gave it to them. They now have a bunch of different publications on display and had already received their copy and had spotted the article by the local. I was gratified to hear that!

In between body work and PT I wrote a sympathy note and got it ready to go, and repaired the one that came back in the mail because I had the wrong address. The "pearl" had worn and turned dark. I got the new envelope, wrote a note, and mailed both on my way home from PT also. I straightened up just a bit upstairs, and spent a few minutes trying to troubleshoot the printer up there. It says it has a paper jam but I can't find it. And I took off the paper feeder thing at the back and can't get it back on. So that was an anti procrastination task as well, but unsuccessful.

What a horrible event, RRose! I'm glad you're all safe!

((Ramblin's family)) Good. Gravy.
What a blessing that the gentleman with the shepherd had taken the time and cared for his dog enough to be such an island of calm. The firefighters were probably so much on alert, trying to be so intentional and keep up with events and news, that a moment of relief and a chance to breathe and think about their personal work lives affected them greatly. Wishing you a very ordinary remainder of stay at the hotel, keeping electricity, etc.

Steve is in the hospital. Planning just isn't a thing.

A new couch, blessed?

>>>moving my post from this morning. I posted in the wrong place  <<<<

What diverse experiences SHE's are having. While I am reading your CI, I try to mentally form a picture of what you are describing. I am challenged to picture the extreme difference from my life and to grasp some of what is happening in your life.
Kathryn is building a fire to warm up her room. In contrast, we still have daily temps in the 90's (95 today).
RR and Harriet are experiencing storms and flooding. In contrast, we are in a drought with a burn ban.
and on...and on...and on...

Normal day here. DD13 is at public school. DS16 is working and homeschooling. I just renewed IXL yearly subscription for DS16. IMHO it is a wonderful educational resource and worth every penny.
I have been doing my normal things - cooking, gardening, cleaning, laundry put away, organizing, decluttering....and on....and on...and on...and on...and on.

Garden critter update. I was finally able to get a clear picture of it - a huge raccoon! Now I am going to have to figure out how to keep the raccoon away. It found the rabbit food so that has been removed. I need the raccoon to decide the garden is not a pleasant place to hang out. On the other side of the fence is a wide-open large pasture and the raccoon is welcome to live its best life there. I just need to convince it to stay away from this side of the fence! I am going to start with simple things and hope they work to make the raccoon decide he doesn't like it here. Today I will be sprinkling ground cinnamon and cayenne pepper around on the ground.

I am trying not the think about it but acknowledge that I am dreading and looking forward to Friday periodontal surgery on the upper and lower left side of my mouth. I am dreading it because I know what is going to happen.....PAIN. Days of PAIN. I am looking forward to it because this will finish all the periodontal surgery needed. It has been 19 days since the surgery on right side of mouth and I can almost use it normally. Almost. I can't do hot or cold things on the right side of mouth yet because of extreme sensitivity. I can't chew hard things yet because it is still tender. I am still putting some food in the blender to make eating easier. I have been using the left side of my mouth to eat but after Friday that won't be possible until surgery heals. Basically eating & drinking during October is going to be a PITA as I continue to heal. Reminding myself......Short term pain for long term gain.

Fall break starts tomorrow and is shaping up to be interesting. DGS18 will arrive Friday night to stay with us for 10 days. DGS18 knows that I will be on pain meds, but I am putting out the virtual WELCOME mat for him. I won't be in my best Nana mode, but DGS18 is always welcome to come visit.

Clouds rolled in and a bit of wind a bit more than a breeze not much.
Glad I had deck time when I did. Man the weather really effected me today.
Nice half San from lunch left over for dinner.
Did up dishes.

Earlier today I had the bed pretty full of clothes that needed sorted from a basket I'd waited on...
put off till today some were summer others need to donate, some can be for painting as my painting ones are shot.
Put some away with winter things so glad that's done and set one outfit out for the morning. So the bed is cleared off & I can
slept in it tonight.
