Hello d Nancy - can you send us some rain too - glad you got some! sorry you had sniffles.
I love that you give yourself stars _ I might do that too.

I just thought the woman who gave the advice of not having the dailies listed down etc. was a BO born organized in spirit.

hello all.
did a dinner prep: dressing done, compound butter done for the fish.

mom wanted to stay home - it's good for me but deep down I know it's not good for mom. She is fed. She keeps telling me she is drinking her water - I hope so.

lunch eaten.
time to clean the counters, stove, lunch dishes
turn on dw.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I am glad that I did not go to church yesterday to not share my sniffles or get other's germs.
Got lunch in me soup; ddoggo liked her broth too.
Reminds me of a time LH said he did not like it so watery I said that's called stew,
and this is soup and what we are having for dinner. SMH. Not a fun memory.
We had spaghetti squash too as a side.

I worked on my fall divider for my planner
I put daily & weekly info on it for reference.
I get a mailer that is full sheet size I put stickers on it
and write info. on it that's fun for me!

So glad my tall desk is usable.
-----
I need to clear out the closet in my office sort some things and return it hoping to
get some room for other things I am keeping.
It has stopped raining might be getting a bit more later.

-----
Hemmed one pr. of sweats yea!
The rain stopped.
We have walked.
Got two more pair of sweats hemmed yea all three done today!

Thank you for celebrating my 69th birthday with me.

The teen boys are spending the afternoon going to car and motorcycle dealerships. I'm sure there is plenty of dreaming happening as they check out all the motors on wheels.

I will be attending a gathering at DFriends home later today. They say it is a birthday party for me and another friend, but I think they would have found other reasons to gather if our birthdays hadn't been today. IMHO, any reason to gather friends together is a good one.

Happy to say, I am managing Monday. ;) I think those of you who read about my tear-filled weekend will be relieved to know I have --

[x] gone to the bank for large bills for ds' bday card (and cash for misc)
[x] signed ds's card
[x] gone to the drug store for flu shot and refills
[x] called the courthouse (tax office) to make sure I still have homeowner's exemption
-- we had some sort of discount after dh turned 70, 65 -- so I will qualify again in a couple years. She said it didn't amount to much, probably $50 depending on our total taxes. It is the state portion of property taxes. I will have to go to the courthouse and take death certificate to clear this from next year's taxes.
[x] started a load of laundry
[x] washed the items in the sink
[x] talked to dmom, who will not be coming to party because she has been diagnosed with pneumonia :(
[x] set up dining room for party
AND -- the best thing -- :D
[x] had lunch with dfriend at local sandwich shop
AND... EDITING AT 9:27 PM --
[x] put away 1/2 the laundry -- dgrands' clothes and my socks are still in the dryer
[x] hosted ds' birthday party, no tears * dang * forgot to ask ds to check the attic pans for water
[x] put away all the stuff from the party

I did not get to do the
* Oil change because the man was not in. I use a privately-owned shop, not the 10 minute express chain here (which has had lots of complaints).
I'll try oil change tomorrow.
And I did not
* Vacuum and dust main area of the house because... I'm just not in the mood. If all goes as usual, no one will set foot anywhere but the kitchen and dining room.

I find living alone makes me less concerned about the WHB. I know y'all are thinking, "LESS concerned??? Lucy has never seemed concerned anyway!" But it's just like my dmom says, no one sees it but me, and it just doesn't seem to matter so much. I mean, things are 99% of the time very neat, and fairly well organized, and I just tend to think it doesn't matter. I should keep at it though, to try to set a better example for ds/ddil.

I should also be concentrating on decluttering a lot of stuff that I probably would be embarrassed if ds/ddil saw it after MY death. Journals, poetry, even scrapbooks. Would y'all believe I have a used up tube of toothpaste in a scrapbook, which belonged to a friend's older brother. I had a crush on him. And I carried around a chili dog wrapper for two years, which came off a chili dog that Other Guy had eaten. It was wrapped multiple times in tape, so it wouldn't leak or anything. I threw it away (actually burned it) in a purging moment that was supposed to put him out of my mind.
Gosh -- if anyone reads this, they will certainly know who I am. How many people actually save such things???
Anyway -- I'm a keeper of sentimental items. And one part of me says, "go ahead, keep them, ds will love to see this -- I would love to see things that mattered to my mom and grandmothers before I was a part of their lives." OTOH, one part of me says, "girl, don't let ds know how crazy you are!"

One thing I don't have is an athlete's jock strap hanging on my wall. One of dh's cousins married a girl who had a jock strap hanging on the wall. It was a college athlete who became a professional, and if I could think of his name, you would all recognize it -- but I can't remember who it was.

Anyway --
Hope you have a great day with your friends, LadyM. Happy birthday, again! And I hope you all have a great day.
Tomorrow is another day.

Happy Birthday, Lady M!

Hello, dear friends.

Oh, no, the crud, Ramblin'! Feel better.

And sniffles, Nancy? Feel better.

Dailies not written down somewhere, sometime, must be for folks who just don't like to write. You wouldn't write them again just because a page is turned in planner or calendar, no. But there are actually changes in them at different stages, seasons. I truly like mine - I like seeing them written somewhere.

I spilled Crowder peas over my favorite, vivid red oven mitt so did some extra laundry today. (I sound calm about it, don't I? Ha!) I was frazzled, and vocal about it, believe me.

Got HRH to settle and finally talk out some things that have been troubling him in his extended family. He hasn't been able to talk about it and it was getting unhealthy. He is feeling a great loss. Better to say sad things out loud, even though of course it's only to me. He almost teared up once but didn't.

Ds surprised us all in a group email by volunteering to host our Christmas get-together. I became worried, because it is dd44's turn and I thought she might feel badly in some way. I called and it turns out she was relieved because on the chance the weather isn't clear/good she couldn't figure out a good plan for having my grandpuppy and a buffet in the same house. Plus, of course, she has to drive a long way just to get DangerBoy home for a holiday and back. She confided in me she was still not out of the woods on whether this would work out, though, because she was waiting on an answer today from her in-law family that they weren't expecting to host at the same time.

But all the emails are positive and now it looks like everyone can come. Dstepson and dstepdil have no problem with the plans and the date even misses dsonil's family trip to see dd26's in-laws. Will wonders never cease.

My contentious two (the two who grew up together with me refereeing) even ended emails to each other with "Love You". (What. :| You do, really? Because sometimes your mother is not so sure!!!) Again, will those wonders never cease.
