Yoo Hoo! Good morning! dneighbor friend M and I often Yoo Hoo to each other when we see the other walking off in the distance so we can walk together and enjoy a chat. I'm so glad for festive beginnings here with you ladies!

Dh has gone for a massage, will probably be home soon. I've done a weekly review of to dos that might or might not happen. This is a much quieter week and I'm so glad. I was trying to get stuff in last week and the week before because of possible surgery, and that's off the table today.

I need to talk to dh about a little neighborhood party next week. Not sure if he's invited anyone or cleared the date so it feels not so firm. And a lot of people are busy the last weekend before Christmas. And looking ahead, we'll be at dfriends on Christmas eve (Tues p.m.) for my birthday, at another group of friends on the evening of Christmas day, (Wednesday p.m.) for several birthdays and first night of Hanukkah. Dh is planning to cook latkes at temple on that Friday night but I might beg off going provided he brings latkes home for me. Then there's dh's birthday on the 30th - need to plan something for him. Right now, no plans for new years eve or day, which is fine with me.

This week I need to finish and mail/deliever Christmas cards too. And check on dd's Hanukkah present which doesn't seem to have been shipped yet.

It's rainy here today - I need to get the dog out to walk at some point soon. And making my brunch next.

Harriet, I suspect it's all very new now and you'll figure out what your body can handle. It's so uncertain right now - how you will feel with all these meds to prevent side effects, then meds to counter those meds. It's goes on and on. Thinking of you...

mom is feeling better bc she is getting feisty. yesterday - she said, with a twinkle in her eye, that she would love to have a creme brûlée -"sounds so good"- asked if I had any-we get them from Ambrosia's - a French pastry shop that only opens Wednesday to Saturday. it made me laugh bc she is feeling much better to be able to want it. I used to make a creme caramel in my young days - (delicious - boy Martha Stewart) but I am not going to all that work again :D. Too funny. She is feeling better.

dh - yesterday he did dishes and took out recycling etc. I don't know why it took me getting upset at his rude behavior to change his attitude. Now he is helpful and kind. I don't get it but right now he is fine.

a joyous day to all of you!!!

I think everyone is out on a sleigh ride. I actually did try to find a dog sled team or a horse and carriage ride but I would have to go north in Minnesota - too far to drive :D

I had mom watch the christmas concert out of a church near Selestat that her cousins wife sang for.
I lost a couple hours since mom came but she is tired now and has been fed as well.
I called her 94 year old cousin in Blienschwiller who still lives on her own and her son lives about 20 minutes away. The two of them laughed like children. Lovely!

okay now I am off to the tree.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I don't know why but I feel a touch of feeling overwhelmed - everyone is happy and busy - for some reason I am panicking about Christmas - The tree isn't decorated, the inside yard is messy, and I am not done with stocking stuffers and a few other things. I don't know if mom is coming Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Brother said he could spend the night.

finish tree
finish presents
but jello/vanilla ice cream that dh's family love from d mom in law
appetizer
food for Christmas morning and christmas dinner
christmas cards to France and new Caledonia (I am late this year)
menu/meals before Christmas so I don't have to worry

things I have to do this week:
Mom dr. Monday and Thursday
dh - will go on his own but I am not thrilled dr. appointment
new small upright freezer will be delivered Thursday, new dw on Wednesday, mouse people on Wednesday
back yard work
call the junk people for the old couch that is in the 3 season room.

I have to call the one store and find out about the one shirt for dh
mom present (dd older got the French comic book on pesos bill printed today)
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Napped
Ate a weird meal of canned corn chowder with toast and jelly (?) no idea, it was my decision
Have LR spread out with gift-bagging indecision - 2 more presents arrive today, pondering the fitting
Slowly bottom-watering one indoor plant at a time
HRH plans a nice Italian supper for me this evening, but taste buds are becoming ... unimpressed
So, there is promise of good things, with a little confusion thrown in

dstepson dropped off truck, but while napping I didn't even greet him
dd26 is getting her grocery shopping done for the first time in a while, so I'm sure she can't come
maybe a phone call
dd44 texted her family will be home this evening, not sure when - presents need bagging to hide
visit Fri night from ds' family was pleasant, but like lucylee, I am rethinking some things I said

I think the success and positivity of this day hangs on FedEx at this point, lol.
If they get those packages in here and I can have 95 percent of gifts complete, that would help lots

yes, dd called and it's a mixed bag of knowledge from her busy life, but we can go out on the 30th

I was sitting here thinking about what kind of cookie to bake next. I looked up "Snickerdoodles" and away I went. All 18 of them are cooling on the counter.

I still have 1/2 pound (AKA 2 sticks) of unsalted butter, so I will make plain, Scottish shortbread tonight.

First dryer load is all away. Second dryer load should be finished shortly.

Stew is reheating.
