Dh and I had a retro charcuterie board for lunch. There were pickles, pickled onions, three kinds of sliced meats, liverwurst and fancy crackers. We just didn't spread it all over a wooden board or make the deli meat into flowers.

Dh has a nice fire going, so I am going to spend time in the living room with him!

I have not had pizza in a long time so I made one up and it's in the oven nearly done now.
Raining outside now.
I ignored the nudge to do the walk earlier.
I will wait and bundle up to see the lights later.

So glad I did floors earlier.
Got the mail and can back from the curb.

I have some festive music on now after a show that dealt with grief & loss this time of year.
The music is very helpful. More peeppy than the classical I had on the other day.

I did some writing earlier in my note books one for holiday stuff and the new one I have
started for winter too.

Got s2s and dh asked why I was rushing, was something on this morning? Nope, it's Christmas Eve and there's so much left undone!

Here's my afternoon update.

[ Done] S2S
[ Done] Make up nuts and bolts for dh
[ Done] In between that baking finish and print tonight's service (it was harder than I thought)
[ Done] package up nuts and bolts and lemon squares for ds who is coming at 4
[ Done ] bake more lemon squares
[ ] rearrange the tree. The grandchildren put 2/3 of the decorations on the bottom 1/3 of the tree. It is a bit out of balance.
[ Done ] keep up with email
[ Done ] watch the lovely snow flakes. It is now a sunny day.
[ Done] tidy the living room Dh vacuumed for me
[ ] do nails
[ ] meal plan and grocery list
[ ] grocery shopping
[ ] fake laminate the luggage tag for dgs8's present
[ ] wrap presents (that might be tomorrow morning's task.)
[ ] charitable contributions (started yesterday but not finished)

The lack of grocery shopping is worrying me. Especially no carrots. Must see what I'm supposed to bring to dd's tomorrow.

Nails drying. And dh is did the fake laminating.

That leaves:

[ ] meal plan and grocery list
[ ] grocery shopping
[ ] wrap presents (that might be tomorrow morning's task.)
[ ] charitable contributions (started yesterday but not finished)

I'll send dh for carrots and clementine oranges after ds leaves. Hopefully he'll be here soon.

blessed, I'm sure you don't mean that your dmother is confusing you with siblings, but it did remind me that I could get my ddad's attention at times by reminding him "I'm your CHILD." That seemed to do a bit of a reset at times when I thought he might be forgetting that I held a special place as his dd. He would rethink what he'd been saying and be somewhat kinder, anyway.

Kathryn, you've done a remarkable number of small tasks.

I fussed over the little tree and fluffed and rearranged the 4 gifts still there. Tobias jumped up instantly, sensing he could cause trouble, so he fit into a photo well and I sent it to dd26. There is an electric cord for a blanket nearby and I'll wrap that around the presents for the night. Christmas gifts have become so easy since I learned that he can't abide crossing a cord to get to boxes and papers.

Glanced at little cards for maybe after-Christmas sending, but HRH doesn't like the idea and there are good reasons to let it go.

HRH had ordered Thai and this was the first meal in a long time that I actually said I should stop eating rather than I didn't feel like eating more. Tasty.

I listened to KMart music as long as I could stand, Ramblin', lol, then tried some Dean Martin Christmas. HRH teased me that the closest granddog had called and said it was bothering him.

Time for a short nap after such a good meal.

LOL at your mother, bw2. She is feisty!

I'm having a lovely day. I stamped and piddled some - made a Christmas card for dfriends we're seeing tonight, and a birthday card for dfriend we're seeing tomorrow night with 25 Dec birthday. Tomorrow I should make an anniversary card for another couple tomorrow night, who are celebrating an anniversary. Dd called and I was on the phone with her when birthday flowers were delivered from her and ds. And dh brought in an unexpected little birthday package with a birthday bracelet.

I'm going to nap with ddog now...I feel pampered.

Okay it's later, dog walked, need to feed her and get ready to go...

Watched some of a series After lunch.
We have walked needed an umbrella and toweled off ddoggo afterwards.
I had shoes that needed to be cleaned and the did 90% of it.
Wore my Santa had.
That sure changed my perspective just glad to be home back inside warm and dry.

Thinking I Might draw a bit in the winter journal take it to the basement for that
and watch the new TV.
