HI, CL! Glad you made it!
QT done. Still trying to catch up on planner planning.
A little me rant. Feel free to ignore...
Geez... I still feel like my brain is a big mush ball from all the meds I had to take - and maybe from the virus. idk... I keep saying I'm going to go to the gym but wow.. I've figured out a gazillion different excuses not to. MAKING myself go to the gym today. I think moving will help clear out this brain fog. But I gotta slug through it first to get there.
The short list:
β’ exercise
β’ house dailies
β’ grocery store
β’ Reboot HSS & FL

Re: Maple Tree Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning/good afternoon, L.Ann, Smilelee and CL.
WTG with the weeding, L.Ann!
Smilelee, the windows *have* to be oiled etc once a year, to stop them seizing and things becoming blocked, but I revised it to twice a year, as once a year was a "big event" that I *had* to get "perfect", so it didn't get done.
Twice means I sprint through it each time with a "good enough" attitude, as anything missed now will get done in the autumn.
Good to see you, CL. Did you have a nice trip?
Ive spent the whole moon the garden, mulching and weeding, and planting the phlox Dnextdoorneighbour C gave me yesterday.
Lunch on my front garden now, then I'll start those windows.

Morning all. Hi costumelady. Glad you found us. Hope all is well.
Trissie yikes on all the overtime. Especially that it is not paid.
Kittykat again you can so diligent on those little menial tasks.
I get that brain fog full well smile lee.
I need to do some thorough routine stuff. Technically i should call dad first and make sure he's good. E is already at work. He husband is going to go see dad and mom today but not for a couple hours. Again my schedule says freight. Pick my 8 hr shift. Or shorter if needed. Ds is on spring break. 2 more days of bball camp. I'll time lunch break to bring him there.
It would be rather fast acting to make 800 shift I haven't showered yet. Probably 9? Or later if the truck is going to be late. Technically I could go do a couple things at dads first....
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Straighten main living space some
Empty and reload dw
Declutter island again
Figure out lunch
Call dad sometime

What does this mean specifically for me? 0ff the top of my head: PUPA things out of place before I go to bed, PUPA tools I have used to do the housework, wipe down kitchen surfaces when I've finished there. Put my breakfast bowl and mug in DW. In other words, pick after myself!
Make list of outstanding jobs on the house and send to Handyman A. DF PM, who has been mentoring him through some difficult turns his life has taken, thinks he may be ready to start some jobs again. (If he doesn't reply in a reasonable time, or doesn't want to do anything, then I'll look for someone else, but I would prefer not to do that). Off the top of my head, clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. More as I think of them?
( Waiting for a reply)
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP

Re: Maple Tree Monday @ TDD - C&C
Yay! Glad you found us, CL.
trissie, that's an interesting idea about dh's technology and travel. Dh travels internationally for his work less than he used to but still maybe once a year. He's presenting at a conference in Japan in June. (This conference alternates between Japan and Hawaii.) Ugh - sorry about the lack of grandparents for your children.
It was the same with ours; dh's were across the ocean on another continent, and mine were 350-1,000 miles away (farther when we lived in Austin, TX) -- and uninterested. I had no help with any of my new babies. Yes, it's good not to be bitter as much as you can -- but also don't push down/ deny the way it's been hurtful. We always had good friends who took our kids under their wings wherever we lived; they became like family to us. That's the Cs here. It was EK and CK in Austin.
I can picture you eating lunch in your beautiful garden, Kitty. Enjoy!
I've totally been there, Smile. I can procrastinate like an expert to avoid going to the gym. Sometimes, it's valid, though. Did you go?
I like your dinner plan L Ann! WTG on all that gardening!!
Hope all is well with your dad, laurlind. Have a good day at payroll!
It is gray and chilly today, 36*F with a high of 37*F.
No rain forecast until Friday.
Last night, we had a lively dinner of 8 with the girls, M, and the Cs. Afterward, we had an impromptu family zoom call with ds and F since it was ds' 31st birthday yesterday! Wow - I have a child who is 31 years old. How is that possible? I feel like I was 31 years old myself just a few years ago. LOL!
Today, I need to prep for class and teach class. I also need to call/ email the new NH and ask (1) if they know any good transport companies for Mom and (2) ask what sort of hospital bed they might recommend. Friend R last night thought a hospital bed was an excellent idea even if Mom isn't in one now. (R is an MD, so that means a lot.) A jog would be good and maybe a WF run. Other things need to be done too - but if I do this much, I'll be satisfied.

Thank you for thinking of ladies who are still "missing", Helian. I also thought of Musicalcatlover. (I know she hasn't posted for some time, but it would be good if we could somehow let her know we've moved if she ever felt able to rejoin us.)

Re: Maple Tree Monday @ TDD - C&C
helian, I wish I had that kind of friends - I may have online support, but not much in person. I guess I just missed forming those friendships when we moved in, and then we welcomed three kids in 19 months and just getting out of the house was so much of a hassle that I missed on forming the "playground friendships" too. But then again I guess I just don't look like a person who might need help.
