So -- I did three:
* Washed dishes (which had been a long time coming -- easy to put off when there's only a few things sitting in the sink, but makes me feel so much better when they're clean)
* Put sheets in the washer (they are in the dryer now)
* FINALLY got dmom's cell phone set up (had to call C*nsumer C*llular, but just as they advertise, they were very helpful)
Then I called ds and asked if they wanted to eat with dgs and me, and he and dgd joined us. He said ddil was exhausted and just wanted us to bring her back a to-go order.
We ate at an Italian restaurant -- dgs' suggestion, and in his current state, he gets what he wants to eat -- and it was over $90 for the five of us! I did not think about this place being so expensive -- but I gave ds $32, which was all I had in my wallet (I could have paid with a debit card if he had not acted like he could pay anyway, LOL, when I gasped at the price) but since my meal was probably not much more than $20, I feel like I did my part. I have also fed the grands most of the weekend.
Also -- found out I won't get them till probably next Saturday morning. DS and DDIL aren't leaving until then. I don't know how early, but knowing I've just got two nights somehow gives me a little relief. IF they are leaving early Saturday, I might get them after supper Friday, but I will lobby for them having supper with their parents since they're going to be away from them basically three days. (Counting school Monday, I mean.)
I will probably take them to see dmom on Saturday, and dgd will have acolyte training on Sunday afternoon, so we'll be pretty busy. (If they are left to themselves too long, they start fussing at each other. We still haven't got past that stage.)
On the way home from the restaurant (in Next Town) we stopped at dmom's and I got her car. DS drove mine back to my house so now I have them both, and I can get dmom's oil changed. (It's been giving her a notification for several weeks now.)
While at dmom's, I totally forgot that she had asked for some hair clips... so I will have to go back out there tomorrow and go the long way to the rehab place. Sigh. But I needed to go there anyway, to make sure her garbage is out for Tuesday. I'll just put it out early, I guess. A lot of refrigerator clean-out stuff is in there and it HAS to be picked up!
I still feel kinda edgy, but as I read recently, and I think can attribute to Reese Witherspoon, the best way to handle nervousness is to get out of your HEAD and into your HANDS -- ie: to DO something. That is why I finally got out of the recliner and got busy this afternoon. (This is also my daunt's best advice for handling nervousness and worries.)
Having dmom in rehab makes me nervous, you know, I'm concerned that the food is okay, and the nurses answer the call button quickly, and her medicine is being given correctly, and whether she's lonesome -- but having her at home alone OR at my house 24/7 would make me MORE nervous. So. We'll get through this "season," I know.

I remember my dmom saying she could barely buy groceries fast enough to keep dbro fed when he was that age. DGS is about that bad now. SURELY he will go through a growth spurt and gain some height soon. He weights about 150, but he is less than 5'3" tall. He is wearing a 36" waist pants, but he needs a belt for function, not just style. He is wearing a men's small shirt, or boys XL. He doesn't look "fat," but he is a little chunky. DS is only about 5'7" but ddil is at least 5'8" (and my mom was 5'8" before she started shrinking
) and ddil's brother is probably 6' tall, and so is my dbro. So we are hoping dgs has inherited the tall gene. DH was no more than 5'7" and I'm only 5'3".Happy birthday to dgd, Harriet! My dgd is just a little behind her; mine will be 10 in November. Does it seem that girls are growing up faster than they used to?

Kittykatt, that is so wonderful that your dfriend is doing so well at 99! Gosh, I wish my dmom (80) was in better health. MAYBE this stint in rehab will get her back on a better track.
So glad you are home, Twins! Again, I hope at some point I will feel brave enough to travel like that alone.
DSISIL (I'm still getting used to her being officially in the family!) asked me today if I thought I would be going to the college football games this year. I told her I really kinda doubt it -- dgs will want to be at home on Friday nights and I do NOT want to get up and go on Saturday mornings. I kinda expect (fear!) that she might offer to let me and the dgrands ride with them -- their normal thing is to go on Saturdays and come back on Sundays -- but first -- my social/travel anxiety has my stomach rolling at that thought... which I know is crazy, but it is what it is, and right now, 51 weeks after losing dh, I'm not ready to start working on myself to that extent... -- and 2nd, I don't want to be at their mercy or make them feel obligated, where to eat, keeping the kids orderly, etc etc. And 3rd, dgrands would have to miss church if we went on their schedule.
I told her dgs doesn't even sit and WATCH the games when he is here at my house. He is interested, but he stays busy with something else while the game is on, and just keeps up with the score. He loved going with dh, but I think he is just as happy to watch on tv now. I think ds and ddil will be able to take the dgrands to at least one or two games, and maybe that will be enough till dgs can help me with the driving.
Looks like you've been busy, Nancy! WTG! My yard needs mowing too. Man said he would get to it this week, after the rain stopped. (We are under a flood warning till Tuesday. My yard won't flood, but it is certainly wet.)
Cathy, WTG on your laundry and other ta-das! * Cooking supper is a big ta-da for me. I told the dgrands I might cook spaghetti Saturday night and they seemed to be in favor of that idea. I make my own sauce, so it's not just opening a jar, so I'm always pleased when I make even that much effort!

Plus, I signed and addressed two birthday cards for dfriends
and I wrote a thank you note to a group that made a donation to their scholarship fund in dh's memory.
Slowly clearing off the kitchen countertop which had been a big mess.
Still no sheets on my bed.
